I bought a Bosch OEM one from diesel power products for around $50 last year. I was able to replace it without taking the fuel rail apart. I bought a special socket for it. It was $20 I think? And used a flex head ratchet from harbor freight. Just a thought if you ever gotta replace it again.
Great to know it can be changed without removing all that again. Couldn’t find much info on it and considering its location figured it wouldn’t be reachable.
Question what did you use to hold down the rail and take that sensor off and tighten the new one on? I had the same issue happen to mine and I’m going to replace it today
I had the rail off already while installing the new heater grid plate. I didn’t reinstall until I had the new sensor and just used a couple of wrenches.
@@chiefyoung so just use a wrench to hold it down ?i have mine off right now I just didn’t know if you used a vise to hold the rail while using a ratchet with socket to take it off
@@chiefyoung did you torque it down or use and thread tape or anything? I just installed one with no thread tape or loctite or anything and I’m hoping it doesn’t leak..

@@chiefyoung it's was not fun and my knuckles were bloody but i got it done haha. By the way your GCSS videos are great. I use them all the time.
Awesome. Thank you. I’m glad they’re still useful. Working on broadening the channel now with other content. lol
What dose the engine do when you have a sensor
@@soopashaggyit regulates the amount of fuel being thrown at the injectors
What happens is. When someone is tightening or loosing that last fuel line in the very back they hit that sensor and break it.
That’s exactly what I did.
What year is your truck the one on your Amazon link says it’s for 13 and up but mine is a 4th gen 2010 you think it would be the same ?
Mine is a 2015. I’m not sure what the difference would be in the kits.

I used two wrenches but a vise would work too, just don’t clamp down too much on it.
Has this sensor still been working?
Like a charm. Not one issue so far.

I just tightened mine up as tight as I can get it. It works like a compression fitting correct?
Yeah, I didn’t use any tape either.
Nothing just tightened it down within reason and called it good. No issues so far.
