Back in the 1990s I used to go grocery shopping after work at 1 am in California. I don't think many people care about shopping so late. You make it sound like the West wanted the sanctions to affect everything in Russia. They target mostly weapons components and the financial sector. Of course Russia is big enough to produce most of its own food needs. Once again misleading. Didn't Tucker go to Auchan, a French hypermarket, to prove his point? Arend, the Canadian farmer from Countryside Acres with loads of kids and a man crush on Uncle Valodya, went to an OBI home improvement store in Nizhny Novgorod and raved about the selection of goods there, but he didn't say anything about it being a German retail chain. You guys are laughable with your "Russia beating the sanctions" nonsense. Let's see how long it takes before the Russian economy collapses. Could be in 2025 or 2026 or maybe they'll get lucky and survive the effects of Uncle Valodya's military adventures. But with official inflation at 8:3 percent, interest rates at 21 percent and likely to go higher and the Russian ruble down quite a bit, things are already not so great. Average wages in Russia are still shameful and much less than all 27 European Union countries and about a third of the average in the Baltic states. Average Ivan earned on average 84324 rubles in September or just $763 according to today's exchange rate (Dec 30). Yes there is growth, but much of it is in defense spending. I just hope a collapse doesn't make things even worse. My greatest hope is that Russia will rejoin the civilized world and work with, instead of against the West.
@@Igorinrussia I didn't even stumble onto your Facebook page until a year ago. I think that UA-cam ban is cutting your views by sixty or seventy percent. How are you going to move to Russia with fifty views per hour in the first eight hours? Maybe you can find a job that pays more than 84324 rubles per month :-) Or maybe Sabbatical or your friend Sanctioned Ivan can give you some tips on proper click baiting. Watch some real news, too, instead of Россия 24 and RT. Good luck!

That's exactly what they wanted,a repeat of what happened after the collapse of the soviet union is they wanted Russian people to go through again, and hopefully worse.
Is this the store round the corner from where the metro comes up at what was a McDonald's? I don't speak Russian so I don't remember street names. I just remember always coming up at a McDonald's and a store like this was right around the corner. The place I'm thinking of was very near Nevsky Prospect. My friend who lives in Gatchina had never tried a White Russian. We stopped at a very nice store like this for a bottle of Kahlua before going to the train station to go home.
Igor where are all the people,I can't see many. Would you to do a vox pop of how people on a pension find the prices. People are constantly mixing up packed stores and the cost of living. That is the question. Have a happy new year
This is pretty busy for like 1 AM would yiu say? After midnight.. thats why alcohol sales not open etc ya know. The time when western shops are already closed and theres wmpty streets never mind shops
@@Igorinrussia there are stores in Europe that close late and open early. I love the way these bloggers feel they have to prove how good it is in Russia. Me thinks the protest to much. You mean Australian Russell who lives just outside Moscow - he who has been here for many years yet, by his own admission can't speak Russian at all, and can't even read Cyrillic? Another freeloader. Contribution to Russian society: zero.
Well Russian cities like Saint Petersburg,Moscow,Ufa,Vladivostok etc.,are well packed with everything because of their proximity and population.Countryside and small towns is a different story, stores are considerably smaller with less products and services, like everywhere else.Russia today is a much better place than in Soviet times or 90s.This is not because of leadership but overall worldwide economics and integrity.Russia is huge with a large population and resources, but unfortunately lot of products like electronics, cars, medical and food in general have to be imported.Russia is not really manufacturing many things, except for military equipment.

Russia does not produce food ... ok, i will go and tell Russian food manufacturers that they do not exist. I've just gone to a shop, my bags with Russian foods do not exist too... A Russian pharmaceutical company that I worked for 8 years do not exist too. I also do not exist, by the way. P.S. Looks just like a Walmart but full of Russian products at decent prices as I see it. We got plenty of stuff locked up here at stores in the states, that is what I hear you describing! Happy New yEAR

Why constant terrible noise in the background? Do they think that people buy more when there is constant noise? For me effect is quite opposite.
