Thank you. I was a former atheist. Do not be afraid of atheists, we cover our own insecurities with "science and philosophy" but we are just like you. It has been my experience that well read Christians are actually a lot smarter than your typical atheist. I became dissatisfied with "naturalistic" and "scientific" answers for meaning and began to ask questions. I was in High School, I was Goth, and I had the biggest target on my back possible but I found only two Christians willing to speak to me about Christ in a community of 2.5 million. If we could have seen the sign from Heaven's perspective it would have been neon, glowing, flashing, with a huge mile high red arrow pointing at my head with letters on my forehead reading, "easy evangelistic target, preach here!" I asked pointed questions such as, "Who is Jesus, How does he compare to Mohammad, What is Christianity, What does Gospel mean, What do you believe?" Thank you Amy and Jason the only two Christians that went out their way to speak to me. I know Romans 3:11 but I must say that I went out of my way to learn about spirituality. I read the Quran and the Dammhapada, flirted with Ba'hai and had a girlfriend into Wicca. The first missionary I ever met was when I lived in Spain and he was LDS (are you ashamed yet Christians?). I had to visit a Protestant Church and a Catholic Convent to get some of my questions answered. If it wasn't for Gideons I would have never owned a Bible. Please speak to people. For Christ's sake speak up. Amy taught me that I am loved beyond any human love and Jason taught me that Christianity can be rational and fun. When someone asks you, "How do I get to know this Jesus dude? I heard you guys say he's alive?" please answer them. (true story) I asked and received a blank stare with the most profound declaration of postmodern Christian evangelism, "Yeah, uh I don't know what your talking about? Shah!"
It's unfortunate that most people don't know that science is actually scientism. Science is its own religion in and of that it's its own belief system.. they should be trusting the math 🤣. However Christianity stands out from them all after looking into it so much about all of this. This man is full of wisdom it's like Grandpa telling me a story except it's real and meaningful.

Ironic enough but science and Religion aren't against each other in fact they help prove each other at times but sometimes they contradict each other but it's probably just beyond our knowledge

No it is not that an atheist will say there is no god. Some will say that but not all. To be an atheist is to say you don't believe in a god. You know what a god is & that he might be there but you just don't believe any of that. They don't need to tell them self if there is no god. You & I know there is a god because we believe in god. I'm an atheist. There is no internal conflict here. I simply withhold belief in things until there is sufficient evidence for me to belive or to be convinced. I was envious of a friend's complete peace in her life and faith in Christ. I asked her how that was since I knew I didn't have it and like you, wanted proof. She told me to talk to (pray) to the Holy Spirit, just a few words when I was alone and ask for the gift of faith. I did that, several times. No lightening bolt, no loud trumpet but over the following weeks I realised I did not doubt Christ anymore. If you believe in Him and trust Him, faith will follow. That's all you have to do. God will do the rest. There is also a famous Bible verse that you may or may not be aware of? In the Book of John, chapter 20, verse 29 which says "Then Jesus told him, "Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed." As an aside, there were over 300 prophecies in the Old Testament about Christ. Every single one of them came true. You might be interested in an Atheist Scientist who calculated the odds around that. hi there. what you are describing is an antitheist, not an atheist. atheists, at least if they understand/use the term correctly, do not claim that there IS no god, they only say that they don't believe in any gods.

Jesus of Christianity did not talk of the need for sanitation, cleanliness, sterilization, inoculation and medication to prevent diseases. Why? If Jesus was a character of human created stories and not a God, Jesus would not have known about natural ways to prevent diseases. The reason humans have made advancements in the last 400 years is because humans have learned more about the natural world, not because we have learned more about the Story world of Jesus of Christianity. Did humans eradicate Small pox from the world because we prayed to Jesus, or because human developed the Small pox vaccine? Most of these people believe in karma. In order for karma to be present there has to be a spiritual force or energy delivering it as well as keeping track of what type of energy gets returned. That means there’s a realm other then the physical which legitimizes a soul. This karma they speak of also has two possible outcomes which is either good or bad. So in actuality their interpretation is misconstrued. My biggest proof of a god is the emotions I feel. Emotions are not possible without a soul and souls are directly correlated with god. They believe the universe created itself which excludes a god. The problem is they fail to realize this concept is theoretical. No one was there to witness it. So really, we all walk by faith! That overwhelming rush I feel when I speak to my father is all the proof I need. It just confirms that there is something far more powerful then the body and does in fact affect it. To people that are trying to Evangalize nonbelievers. Do not push them, don't argue with them, just share the Gospel as the Desiples shared the Gospel. With Love and patience. Prey for them at all times and prey that they see what true Christianity is like and do not push them! People coming to me with the Gospel and statements when I was not a believer was not the way. Only when they are completely ready to go to God that they will be more then happy to listen to you and the Gospel! The ones that God wants He will get when God knows they are ready to come on their own free will and not by pushing them! Just like me, I hated being pushed until I knew myself I had only God to turn to end it all! And he led me to the Gospel, to the Bible to repentance to death of my old nasty self and to a new life of peace with the Lord Jesus Christ ! Yes, a sick person will not admit he is sick until he realizes it himself Only then, he will seek a doctor. The same way, when I saw I was in the end of my road, I seeked God and wanted God , not before that! I still regret 38 years without God , but God has shown me that even though I did not seek Him, He was always there helping me, saving my life and leading me. When God knew I was ready to go to Him, He sent me a massanger to share the Gospel with me. Only then I listened, only then I repented, only then my blind eyes were opened and only then I was able to hear the wonders of the Glorious Gospel of My Lord! So be patient and prey for them ! Don't push them! I have my mom that is still struggling !
He gets the definition of atheist wrong. In fact he gets the definition of "theist" wrong. "Theist" doesn't mean god, it means "one who has a belief in a god or gods". An "A-thesit" is therefore one who does not have a belief in god. Agnosticism is a knowledge claim, Atheism is a belief claim. Most of the time a non believer is both.
You can't use the Bible as proof God exists to a non believer. That's because the non believer doesn't believe in a God or the Bible. So without using the Bible, how do you prove Gods existence to a non believer? After all, we believers believe in God and the Bible through faith, without seeing. Non believers say that is blind faith. We believe through faith, they want hard evidence proof. I have not come up with an answer to this question. I have talked to very few non believers about this. I can understand where they are coming from. It is hard for many to believe in something they can't see or touch. Reminds me of a thought. How do we know oxygen exists on our planet? You can't see it, so where is the proof it exists? God is somewhat like that. People come to believe in God through hearing about him. It is up to the person to come to God. You can't force a person into believing. Thank God I came to know him when I was 4yrs.old. I am now 57. I may not be able to help everybody, but if I can help at least one person come to God it would be worth it. I have been watching this mans videos lately. As with anybody teaching the word of God, some things he is spot on, and others may not be quite correct. He is very nice and polite, and is definitely a guy I could easily get along with.
I'm an atheist because every argument and every peace of evidence theists have given have been unconvincing, illogical or in some cases outright dishonest. I'm not saying that there is not god, what I am saying is the theist have yet to meet the burden of proof for the claims they are making. And until they do I will have no reason to believe.

And most atheists would say that they are agnostic too, we have no knowledge of god therefor we have no reason to believe in a god. If god revealed himself to you that is maybe reason for you to believe but it is not reason for me, especially as followers of every religion there is also claims that there god have revealed himself.

I think if I was talking to an atheist at school, I would just skip the lecture about God penetrating my conscience and just explain that the God who lives "out there somewhere" came to earth as a man, Jesus Christ, and died for the sin of the world. We are told to preach the gospel, which is the death, burial, and ressurection of Christ. Romans 1:16 says that is where the power is. I like the answer though, John 1:9 says He has done the same for every man including the so called atheist.

"How do I share the Gospel of Jesus with an Atheist?" FIRST demonstrate why anyone should take what is written in the Gospels seriously in the first place. Then they will listen and you can share all you want. Otherwise you might as well be sharing what is in the Illiad or Harry Potter.
Most would not say that you don't know god. They would say that you know something & how do you know that something is god? You believe it is god & so do I. Yet they just don't have that. They still believe it is something that impacted your life but they can't believe that is a god.
The Gospel is too far down the chain. First provide testable, falsifiable evidence that a god of any kind exists. Then, and only then, provide testable and falsifiable evidence that the god demonstrated in step one, is the god of the Bible and not some other god. Otherwise, the Gospel is just a claim without evidence and can be dismissed.

Worse, you assume their being annoyed with you is because of their sin, exacerbating the problem. Most words are broad, and the term atheist (him) can be as broad as the term theist (you). My advice to the questioner is to avoid self-righteousness at all cost, don't define or explain, but simply tell of your faith.
What happens to you when you die? Have you ever told lies, stolen, used God's name in vain? If yes, then you are a liar, thief, and a blasphemer. When you die & be judged by God, you'll be guilty of sin. The bible says you'll end up in Hell! But God sent God His Son Jesus to die on a cross for your sins, He was buried & rose from the dead on the third day. If you'll believe the Gospel(Jesus's death, burial & resurrection) for the forgiveness of your sins, you'll not perish & have eternal life!

The first 5-6 minutes is probably the best advice for a Christian trying to witness to an atheist - just don't start thinking it's some kind of knock-out argument. A Muslim could make the exact same argument to a Christian & it would be just as valid. In fact, that line of argumentation could be used to defend any claim under the sun. The biblical prophecy, intelligent design & bible quote stuff is on much shakier ground, so I wouldn't recommend opening with it.
How is biblical prophecy on shakier ground? I haven't looked at all of the things he mentioned but the destruction of tyre was spot on for something that hadn't happened yet.
@ybra What would convince you? Other than GOD Himself revealing His presence to you, what would it take? Please, I'm not trying to goad you or slap you down. I really want to know. There are plenty of historical records, archaeological evidence and eyewitness accounts. I know that it take a LOT of faith to believe something not right in front of you, but what would it take? I humbly respect your input and would like to know your side of the issue.
To be honest I think he would have to personally reveal himself to convince me of his existence. Since God is per definition beyond our material world(which is why I don't believe) I would have to have him personally tell me and be sure beyond a reasonable doubt that I wasn't hallucinating etc. Not sure if this helped but I hope it did

Unfortunately there are many fallacies and holes in your argument. We can start with your "knowledge" of the Christian god. Your knowledge is no different than the knowledge that muslims claim to have of Allah. You ability to not spell God and Book correctly also do not help your case.
PUGS1688 more than one person testified to the miracles of Jesus and to His resurrection. Muhammad had personal revelation. Jesus Christs resurrection is a documented fact. Eye witnesses to him. There is a vast difference between Islam and the Christian religion.
The comparison between Islam and Christianity is the difference between apples and oranges if looked at close enough. Most people only see two types of fruit and think they are the same but that isn't their fault. I don't think he meant to try and convert someone with just this video. It seems like he's trying to say "hey these are some things you should think about. Expand on them to help when witnessing to an atheist." I appreciate the comment, of course. What if I live with someone who went the other way? They were raised in a Christian home and had God experiences, but never really got rooted in faith, and how has become an avowed atheist? It seems no amount of reason works with this one. He thinks he's got it all figured out.
Let's say there are 2 rooms. I could say I'm not sure which room I like more but I am still in one room. You could take that example and explain the duality of agnosticism and atheism with that. While you can have doubt your brain has still taken a position, you either believe or you don't. It's more of a knowledge statement that you can't prove a negative. Your brain has decided on which side you are on and you can't be 50% 50% on such an issue. Also atheism definition is currently more so "no good evidence to take a standpoint that there is a biblical Abrahamic god (or any other god but in this video that is the god who is referred to)". Meaning it has the "don't say that there is 100% no god" woven into the explanation. So atheism is kind of already "agnostic who is currently a-theist" - meaning a person who logically understands there is evidence needed to claim something exists but at the current moment due to subjectively lack of evidence is on the a-theism position". It boils down to demagogic fluff. You can argue all you want about words and their definitions but you don't change a persons opinion by just changing his word. Kind of like if it quacks like a duck and looks like a duck idea. If the person has no religious affiliation, believes currently in no god and behaves as there is no god then it doesn't really matter if you call him an atheist, agnostic or a duck. It's the meaning, not the word that makes the person.

I'm an atheist. There is no internal conflict here. I simply withhold belief in things until there is sufficient evidence for me to belive or to be convinced. If you can demonstrate your choice of gods or deities exists, then do that.
This video is full of strawman arguments, asserting what an atheist thinks, says or believes. A lot of presuppositions, too. If your god is all powerful, all knowing, all loving, then it should know what would be required for me to believe, yet here we are.
The ones who make the claim have the burden of proof. I have no requirement to demonstrate there isn't a god because I don't say there "is no god". I simply say, I don't believe your claim.

I was envious of a friend's complete peace in her life and faith in Christ. I asked her how that was since I knew I didn't have it and like you, wanted proof. She told me to talk to (pray) to the Holy Spirit, just a few words when I was alone and ask for the gift of faith. I did that, several times. No lightening bolt, no loud trumpet but over the following weeks I realised I did not doubt Christ anymore. If you believe in Him and trust Him, faith will follow. That's all you have to do. God will do the rest. There is also a famous Bible verse that you may or may not be aware of? In the Book of John, chapter 20, verse 29 which says "Then Jesus told him, "Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed." As an aside, there were over 300 prophecies in the Old Testament about Christ. Every single one of them came true. You might be interested in an Atheist Scientist who calculated the odds around that. Research a man called Peter Stoner.

hi there. what you are describing is an antitheist, not an atheist. atheists, at least if they understand/use the term correctly, do not claim that there IS no god, they only say that they don't believe in any gods.
@ybra Well, however you section physical reality, you end up with something that cannot explain the origin of its existence. For example, atheists may believe that everything in the universe came from a particle the size of an atom. Well...where did that atom come from?

Jesus of Christianity did not talk of the need for sanitation, cleanliness, sterilization, inoculation and medication to prevent diseases. Why? If Jesus was a character of human created stories and not a God, Jesus would not have known about natural ways to prevent diseases.
The reason humans have made advancements in the last 400 years is because humans have learned more about the natural world, not because we have learned more about the Story world of Jesus of Christianity.
Did humans eradicate Small pox from the world because we prayed to Jesus, or because human developed the Small pox vaccine?

Most of these people believe in karma. In order for karma to be present there has to be a spiritual force or energy delivering it as well as keeping track of what type of energy gets returned. That means there’s a realm other then the physical which legitimizes a soul. This karma they speak of also has two possible outcomes which is either good or bad. So in actuality their interpretation is misconstrued. My biggest proof of a god is the emotions I feel. Emotions are not possible without a soul and souls are directly correlated with god. They believe the universe created itself which excludes a god. The problem is they fail to realize this concept is theoretical. No one was there to witness it. So really, we all walk by faith! That overwhelming rush I feel when I speak to my father is all the proof I need. It just confirms that there is something far more powerful then the body and does in fact affect it.

To people that are trying to Evangalize nonbelievers. Do not push them, don't argue with them, just share the Gospel as the Desiples shared the Gospel. With Love and patience. Prey for them at all times and prey that they see what true Christianity is like and do not push them! People coming to me with the Gospel and statements when I was not a believer was not the way. Only when they are completely ready to go to God that they will be more then happy to listen to you and the Gospel! The ones that God wants He will get when God knows they are ready to come on their own free will and not by pushing them! Just like me, I hated being pushed until I knew myself I had only God to turn to end it all! And he led me to the Gospel, to the Bible to repentance to death of my old nasty self and to a new life of peace with the Lord Jesus Christ ! Yes, a sick person will not admit he is sick until he realizes it himself Only then, he will seek a doctor. The same way, when I saw I was in the end of my road, I seeked God and wanted God , not before that! I still regret 38 years without God , but God has shown me that even though I did not seek Him, He was always there helping me, saving my life and leading me. When God knew I was ready to go to Him, He sent me a massanger to share the Gospel with me. Only then I listened, only then I repented, only then my blind eyes were opened and only then I was able to hear the wonders of the Glorious Gospel of My Lord! So be patient and prey for them ! Don't push them! I have my mom that is still struggling !

He gets the definition of atheist wrong. In fact he gets the definition of "theist" wrong. "Theist" doesn't mean god, it means "one who has a belief in a god or gods". An "A-thesit" is therefore one who does not have a belief in god.
Agnosticism is a knowledge claim, Atheism is a belief claim. Most of the time a non believer is both.
And almost all professing atheists are angry about the subject. Why are they mad about something That’s not there?
You can't use the Bible as proof God exists to a non believer. That's because the non believer doesn't believe in a God or the Bible. So without using the Bible, how do you prove Gods existence to a non believer? After all, we believers believe in God and the Bible through faith, without seeing. Non believers say that is blind faith. We believe through faith, they want hard evidence proof. I have not come up with an answer to this question. I have talked to very few non believers about this. I can understand where they are coming from. It is hard for many to believe in something they can't see or touch. Reminds me of a thought. How do we know oxygen exists on our planet? You can't see it, so where is the proof it exists?
God is somewhat like that. People come to believe in God through hearing about him. It is up to the person to come to God. You can't force a person into believing. Thank God I came to know him when I was 4yrs.old. I am now 57. I may not be able to help everybody, but if I can help at least one person come to God it would be worth it. I have been watching this mans videos lately. As with anybody teaching the word of God, some things he is spot on, and others may not be quite correct. He is very nice and polite, and is definitely a guy I could easily get along with.

I'm an atheist because every argument and every peace of evidence theists have given have been unconvincing, illogical or in some cases outright dishonest. I'm not saying that there is not god, what I am saying is the theist have yet to meet the burden of proof for the claims they are making. And until they do I will have no reason to believe.
you are right. No one can ever give a %100 airtight argument short of Jesus Christ walking up to you and saying hello. At the end of the day, it is about the preponderance of truth that God exists and is a personal God.That is why it is called faith.

Atheist do not mean absolute certainty that there is not god, it simply means that we have no belief in a god. And most atheists would say that they are agnostic too, we have no knowledge of god therefor we have no reason to believe in a god.
If god revealed himself to you that is maybe reason for you to believe but it is not reason for me, especially as followers of every religion there is also claims that there god have revealed himself.

I was Atheist before my accident in 2005, I not only denied Him, I called myself the savior Yako Romero in my wrestling career before my accident. I fell asleep driving home from work training(a wrestler)working out and chasing tail.
I think if I was talking to an atheist at school, I would just skip the lecture about God penetrating my conscience and just explain that the God who lives "out there somewhere" came to earth as a man, Jesus Christ, and died for the sin of the world. We are told to preach the gospel, which is the death, burial, and ressurection of Christ. Romans 1:16 says that is where the power is. I like the answer though, John 1:9 says He has done the same for every man including the so called atheist.

Most would not say that you don't know god. They would say that you know something & how do you know that something is god? You believe it is god & so do I. Yet they just don't have that. They still believe it is something that impacted your life but they can't believe that is a god.

The Gospel is too far down the chain. First provide testable, falsifiable evidence that a god of any kind exists. Then, and only then, provide testable and falsifiable evidence that the god demonstrated in step one, is the god of the Bible and not some other god. Otherwise, the Gospel is just a claim without evidence and can be dismissed.

Worse, you assume their being annoyed with you is because of their sin, exacerbating the problem. Most words are broad, and the term atheist (him) can be as broad as the term theist (you). My advice to the questioner is to avoid self-righteousness at all cost, don't define or explain, but simply tell of your faith.

When you die & be judged by God, you'll be guilty of sin. The bible says you'll end up in Hell! But God sent God His Son Jesus to die on a cross for your sins, He was buried & rose from the dead on the third day. If you'll believe the Gospel(Jesus's death, burial & resurrection) for the forgiveness of your sins, you'll not perish & have eternal life!

The first 5-6 minutes is probably the best advice for a Christian trying to witness to an atheist - just don't start thinking it's some kind of knock-out argument. A Muslim could make the exact same argument to a Christian & it would be just as valid. In fact, that line of argumentation could be used to defend any claim under the sun.
The biblical prophecy, intelligent design & bible quote stuff is on much shakier ground, so I wouldn't recommend opening with it.

Please, I'm not trying to goad you or slap you down. I really want to know. There are plenty of historical records, archaeological evidence and eyewitness accounts. I know that it take a LOT of faith to believe something not right in front of you, but what would it take?

To be honest I think he would have to personally reveal himself to convince me of his existence. Since God is per definition beyond our material world(which is why I don't believe) I would have to have him personally tell me and be sure beyond a reasonable doubt that I wasn't hallucinating etc. Not sure if this helped but I hope it did

The term "unicorn", as mentioned in the Bible, refers to the one-horned rhino, not the fictitious horse-like creature. "Dragons", as discussed in the Bible, refers to dinosaurs, as the term "dinosaur" was not coined until 1842. You are correct about the Easter bunny, however.

As an atheist, I highly appreciate the sincerity of the man in the video. It's quite clear that the intentions of this video is to reveal what you believe to be the truth. Unfortunately there are many fallacies and holes in your argument. We can start with your "knowledge" of the Christian god. Your knowledge is no different than the knowledge that muslims claim to have of Allah. You ability to not spell God and Book correctly also do not help your case.
PUGS1688 more than one person testified to the miracles of Jesus and to His resurrection. Muhammad had personal revelation. Jesus Christs resurrection is a documented fact. Eye witnesses to him. There is a vast difference between Islam and the Christian religion.
The comparison between Islam and Christianity is the difference between apples and oranges if looked at close enough. Most people only see two types of fruit and think they are the same but that isn't their fault. I don't think he meant to try and convert someone with just this video. It seems like he's trying to say "hey these are some things you should think about. Expand on them to help when witnessing to an atheist." I appreciate the comment, of course. Not all atheists are respectable as you(as seen in the comments)
What if I live with someone who went the other way? They were raised in a Christian home and had God experiences, but never really got rooted in faith, and how has become an avowed atheist? It seems no amount of reason works with this one. He thinks he's got it all figured out.
Let's say there are 2 rooms. I could say I'm not sure which room I like more but I am still in one room.
You could take that example and explain the duality of agnosticism and atheism with that. While you can have doubt your brain has still taken a position, you either believe or you don't. It's more of a knowledge statement that you can't prove a negative. Your brain has decided on which side you are on and you can't be 50% 50% on such an issue.
Also atheism definition is currently more so "no good evidence to take a standpoint that there is a biblical Abrahamic god (or any other god but in this video that is the god who is referred to)". Meaning it has the "don't say that there is 100% no god" woven into the explanation. So atheism is kind of already "agnostic who is currently a-theist" - meaning a person who logically understands there is evidence needed to claim something exists but at the current moment due to subjectively lack of evidence is on the a-theism position".
It boils down to demagogic fluff. You can argue all you want about words and their definitions but you don't change a persons opinion by just changing his word. Kind of like if it quacks like a duck and looks like a duck idea. If the person has no religious affiliation, believes currently in no god and behaves as there is no god then it doesn't really matter if you call him an atheist, agnostic or a duck. It's the meaning, not the word that makes the person.
