The issue here is that he sought her out and instigated an inappropriate relationship with her. Had it been about the music, he would’ve sought out women closer to his own age to collaborate with. He was a substitute a few times and I noticed he always smiled at all the girls when he dropped them off at their houses. At first, I thought he was just being nice. Then one time I was one of the last to get off the bus and I asked him if he remembered where I lived so he wouldn't drive by my house - and he said, "I'd never forget where you live sweetheart." And then he smiled that same smile I once thought was him being kind and suddenly it looked scary to me. It was super creepy. It's very sad that 99% of girls go trough that as teens. Me and two of my friends, around 16 yo at the time, where chased by creepy neighbor and his friends, who was in their forties. We were flattered at first by the attention, but then it started to get very uncomfortable and I left the friend group. These men are everywhere, just waiting for young and naive teens to pray on, disgusting!

I'm very much loving this current era of seedy and predatory social media influencers getting very publicly outed for their inappropriate conduct.
The hotel interaction was bad enough, but those DMs still felt like whiplash to hear. His messages are so abusive and coercive. And he has the audacity to call _her_ "controlling?"

I agree, it's one thing to call someone beautiful, but it's another thing to be creepy about it, like if he was just complementing them every once in awhile, I don't think anyone would bat an eye, but unfortunately that's not what he's doing. I can't believe it's hard for people, to not be creepy to other people, especially children.

There was a situation that happened to me in early 2016. By no means was it the worst thing to happen to someone, but I just thought of it because you mentioned how these men start small and then try a little more each time.
I worked at a Carmax dealership with a man who was 50 at the time; I was 30. So no comparison to this story in regards to age, as I was not in my teens and had been married for around five years at that point.
However, this man was known to tell inappropriate jokes, talk openly about sexual topics with the team, and disrespect female managers. He even just looked like the typical creepy 50-year-old: White New Balance sneakers, balding, glasses. But aside from the looks, it was his demeanor and words I found unnerving.
One day, I was at the front desk waiting for the next customer. He was nearby, talking openly on the sales floor about how he and his wife were planning on going to a strip club that night. I was doing this uneasy chuckle thing I do when someone’s being cringe.
He walked up close to me and whispered in my ear, “I could see you being the stripper in that club.” Because I was at the front, I was just like, “Ok…ha ha.” 😬
I kept on with work and stuffed my emotions, but when I got home, I was in a terrible mood and had a bit of a meltdown at my husband over something minor. It was then that I realized what was bothering me, so I told my husband what happened. Of course, he insisted I tell my manager the next day. I actually wrestled with it and even asked a few coworkers (some told me to let it go), but I realized that this man was going on test drives alone with young women. It wasn’t just about protecting myself at that point.
Later that morning, I met with my manager and told him about the comment. I was genuinely thinking they’d just give him a slap on the wrist. However, they actually fired him. 😳Management said that my situation was simply the last straw; they’d already seen and heard enough.
The creep took to Facebook and text messaging, telling people I invited his comment and was just out to get him. (I wasn’t Facebook friends with him, but others were telling me, and we had mutual friends, so I could see comments he left on their posts.)
I was the #1 salesperson in the store at that time, so of course, jealous women and even a guy or two latched onto the gossip and saw it as a way to ostracize and undermine me. One girl even went so far as to start other false rumors about me. There was another person who’d gotten fired, which I didn’t even know about right away. But she told him I was somehow behind it. 😢
There was a mature group of people who had my back. One woman in particular said the creep has approached her for nudes, but she didn’t report him because she didn’t want to go though what I was then undergoing. 🤦🏻‍♀️
In short, I was living in a big city at the time, so I just decided to go work for another dealership. The next place was great, though we moved to another city later that year. I’ve been out of the car business since 2018.
The creep went on to become a truck driver. 🤣

Ugh that boy ain't right! I too am a tattler! I was JUST graduated from high school (so 17) and my best friend's sister's husband hit on me when he dropped me at home. He told me not to tell after I said no thank you (I'm sure I looked uncomfortable he was like 7/8 years older than me and HAD 3 KIDS with my bestie's sister) and I said okay and IMMEDIATELY called my best friend and told her. We both laughed at why he thought I would have ANY fear or loyalties to not say anything then while on the phone we both told her sister. Afterwards my friend's sister didn't like me anymore, I guess she liked it better when the women didn't tell after turning him down. It came out that he cheated on her regularly and had a thing for younger girls

I feel violated and I dont talk with him anymore, because I pretty sure he also cheated on me. The awfull part is, I kept on meeting men like that, because noone ever taught me better. Now Im 32 and full of hate. If you have gay children,... pls check who they are meeting. Men can feel violated like women do.

Gross! I hate creepy old dudes! We had a guy at work that was late 40s and he would come by every day to talk to one of my coworkers who is in her early 20s. I overheard some conversations that were borderline inappropriate, like he was testing her boundaries to see what he could get away with. I and a couple of other coworkers asked our 20-something coworker if he was bothering her and she said he was fine. We finally mentioned it to our boss who talked to his boss and just ask that he not spend so much time in our office. He quit the next week.
