I do feel bad for this guy. Just this year there was a huge blow up with my mom being scammed like this and it took 4 months for her to come out of the fog and realize that yes, she was taken advantage of and yes, she sent a lot of money to this loser that we needed. Our relationship got veeeeeeery bad for a while but luckily we're back to normal. It's so hard to watch a loved one go through that and not have them believe you.
It destroys some people's view of the world that EVERYBODY can be a victim of manipulation. It disturbs their sense of control. I jope your mom is better now! 💝
The same bullshit was done to my grandmother back in 2012. My father had just died and over the next few weeks we (her surviving children and me, the eldest grandchild) saw the vultures move in. She lost a little money, but fortunately not much in the grand scheme - I believe it was a bit less than $3k. But that was because I was there in town to see what was happening and raise the alarm so that her daughters could make arrangements to protect her financially and otherwise. She was an 80 year old woman at the time, with advancing dementia. She didn't put up that much of a fight, but I remember early on before we all really appreciate the scope of things, how she would scold us for messing things up when she could've made us all rich.
My mom also got scammed but luckily it was only £20, it was a Nigerian guy and now she's against all Nigerian guys lol, scammers are tarnishing the image of an entire country. I now send her videos from about scams when ever I get the chance and tell her about newest scam trends to be vigilant for. I even told her to be weary of scams were they copy family member voices and ask for money. It's getting crazy out there.
My uncle is 60 and thought some 35 year old wanted him. She kept asking for money so she can come visit and finally my mom said "tell her you'll visit her instead and see how she reacts" and it worked. The scammer got so frustrated she blocked him on everything.
I have heard a lot of these people, after the fact, after they have accepted it was a scam, and gotten therapy; say that deep down they knew, but it was something they needed at the time. They needed the attention/distraction/relationship, and I guess subconsciously were willing to pay for it. These scammers deliberately make grammar and spelling mistakes to weed out people, who are not desperate enough to fall for it, so they don't waste time on it. It is not a series of mistakes, it is an actual tactic. Crazy.
I've read the same thing, and that's still a little funny to me. Because it's NOT the grammar and spelling that serve as the red flag that you're reading a scam.
That is very true. My brother os unfortunately the exact same case and he said the same thing. A part of him knew that it was a scam, but he just wanted someone to talk to.
@@Paputsza hahahaha. I mean, the scammers often say they are American or British, but then speak/write as if English is not their first language, or even second. Not little spelling mistakes and forgetting commas. Egregious mistakes in sentence structure, even. They do it on purpose.
He doesn’t really want a real relationship as he isn’t capable of handling it at this point. To be okay with just messaging over Snapchat says a tremendous amount about how he is living in imagination land. Sadly, he needs a lot of therapy and, really, a good relationship coach that can help him learn how to have a good healthy relationship.
Nah forget about relationships he first needs to love himself. He obviously isnt happy how is it right now who he is, needs to fix that before he gets into anything. That way more important than getting a partner rn
I give the lady whose picture was used credit. She didnt have to meet him. Her picture was used she wasn’t actually involved in that situation. She tried to give the guy some closure good on her. Dude was trippin still but she met him.
Shoutout to Michelle for going CRAZY on her uploads lately. I finish binge watching her videos and think I'm done, go back to the home page, and BOOM she releases a new video!
"she keeps asking for money but I'm sure it's real!" 🙄 if you don't want to get scammed make it a habit to check out of the conversation entirely once they start asking for money and y'all haven't even met yet. Bring up money and I'm gone. Instant block because either they're a scammer or they are lazy and entitled and neither one of those is acceptable to me.
I think he is not the smartest and very easy to manipulate. Or a paid actor. These shows make so much money with this kind of drama so it's very likely the artificially create the drama. That's what the Entertainment Industry is all about.
He is David 2.0, but even more delusional….Well, at least in David’s case after 7 years of chasing Svetlana and hiring private investigators, she turned out to be real though lol
I’m glad someone finally said it, I don’t really feel bad for most ppl that get catfished, there are exceptions to that, of course. They’re almost always ppl that don’t care whatsoever about their own appearance and think they should be loved for who they are but then fall head over heels for someone just for the physical part. It makes you seem like the sleaze that you really are and someone’s exploiting your shameful superficiality.
My significant other was very suspicious that I am a catfish when we first started to chat in tinder and than on Facebook. Mostly because we had very similar interests and world view and stuff what was so weird for him (and me also) after all the mismached relationships. I send him picture of my meal when I went to a restaurant and he asked me to send a picture where I am visible with the meal 😂 and there were stuff like that. So I belive this could never happen with him. 😂
I do feel bad for people when this happens but sometimes I think I shouldn’t. Like this dude could have a real relationship, but he would rather pursue an impossibly perfect 10/10 woman than have something real. I’ve seen plenty of men less attractive than him that have a wife or girlfriend.
It was very nice of her to make an appearance at the end to try to clear up his determined confusion . All you can do is lead a horse to water and hope springs eternal !
It drove me nuts that the face of "Carmella" would agree to meet him because you KNOW a guy like that will be hopeful something happens between the two of them. He has an idea in his head of who she is and seeing her face-to-face won't give "closure" but instead ignite that hopeful side of him. But I am sure this is good publicity for her in some sense. I wouldn't have done it, though.
Yeah. It seems rather dangerous to meet someone that delusional in person. They tend not to take rejection well. I just hope he doesn’t stalk the real lady
As a man if you've your boobs👀 under your armpits and have a "relationship" with a hot girl for 4y but never video chat with that person AND you're aware of catfishing, you're on your own buddy
This is wild!! I've been watching Catfished videos all weekend. I literally watched the Billy video last night. I'm sorry, she's out of his league. That's what pretty much always happens in these scams. After a year tops, there's no excuse to not video chat. At least it's not actually Meg the Stallion. The ones with celebrities are beyond ridiculous
I don't even like Reality TV. It's not my thing. But I enjoy a rational person having fun and I'd listen to you talk about damn near anything Michelle.
@@pettykittyfam I feel like that's probably true for many of us. I LOATHE these shows in their entirety, and what it says about American culture that people eat them up. But I love Michelle's commentary.
@@robinnelsen7869 I think people would eat these insane shows up everywhere but you guys definitely have the most crazy people willing to go on camera like this 😂 we have similar shows in other countries but it's never as unbelievably bizarre as the shows from America LOL
Maybe the reason he was so drawn to catfish was because some part of him knew but was in denial like so many others on the show and found some subconscious sense of community. I hope he finds real love from himself before someone takes advantage of his heart.
I do feel for People like him, he's obviously mentally ill and needs help, he can't make proper adult decisions but since he seems highly functional in social situations, he falls right under the radar.
I do feel bad for them because if someone holds on to a delusion that bad, there is most likely a reason for it. I remember feeling so lonely at a time that I kept seeing a guy who I knew didn't actually care for me. It took courage to finally put down my foot and end it. Rather than judging people who are scammed out of their life savings, shouldn't we direct our judgement towards the people doing the actual scamming?
Nobody is on the scammers side. It's just that people understand the scammers objective. Range from people in low income countries needing money, to criminal operations, to gangs kidnapping people to scam for them. People get that. But the victims people just don't get and find frustrating. Not everyone understands the need to stay in imagination to cope even if it means losing everything.
Personally, I don't think that people who cling onto a delusion to the point of desperation are well. They must have some underlying issue and just because we don't know or understand what it is doesn't mean we can't have a little sympathy. Not saying that you're of the kind, but I've seen people leave some truly nasty comments on catfish videos that are downright cruel. I can't tell people who to feel sorry for but it makes me sad to see so many ridicule people who already have lost so much.@@seekittycat
They(people who fall for romance scammers) like their delusions and choose to stay in them. I don’t feel bad for them. ESPECIALLY!!! THE PEOPLE WHO SEND GIFT CARDS!!!
2:06 cognitive dissonance is a really powerful thing. Even when you can see it in other people, it doesn't mean you'll be able to recognize it in yourself.
That's the thing, though. This guy KNEW about catfishing. People don't fall for these scams because they've never heard of them before. They are deliberately geared to target emotionally broken people.
Just want to say you are one of my favorite UA-camrs, but ALSO the look of absolute love on Rigby's face when he's looking at you melts my heart into a little puddle, just adorable
Catfish is outdated af people on some new shit now but even saying that.. He had a text book catfish and still got scammed... I can't be mad because this is sad this guy wants love so bad he put himself in lala land 😭
Yeah he just wanted to stay in his fantasy. That much is clear. I feel pity in that he is probably so lonely and looking for love that a fantasy like this is better than his reality. Scammers prey on vulnerable people.
It's sad. I work in a bank and the amount of people I see getting scammed out of large amounts of money by these scammers thinking it's there girlfriend or boyfriend.
I’ve had messages on Pinterest claiming to be from male celebrities I’ve pinned a lot. I’m always, like: “Of course you are,” and decline. 🙄 It’s genuinely sad how some fall for these catfishes, the catfishers prey on lonely people.
I LOVE how spOOky you're background is and Love that your puppy dog joined you this time... he had very important commentary that really added to the vid!
It's way easier to be catfished than you may think. Being lonely and wanting to be important to someone makes an easy target. Then you get in way too deep, too invested, and it's very hard to walk away even when learning the truth. I speak from experience. I love the new music at the end of your videos btw.
My uncle fell for this kind of thing too. He send hundreds to a woman in the Philippines. They do video calls and stuff but its gone on for over 6 years.
“I’m not a demon … most days.” You’re hilarious. Really enjoyed your take in this & agree that Tyray was caught up in the fantasy & didn’t really want to know the truth. I suspect they gave him an out once they confirmed that he hadn’t ever been talking to Carmella, but when he chose to stick it out (i.e. be on TV) the producers/directors figured they had a green light to go full-on humiliation.
Your dog is adorable! Definitely made the video better! I did not know you had an attraction to hot clowns! I do feel kind of bad for the guy, because he obviously has some issues, and this fantasy was an escape for him mentally. His sister and the lady he met at the end are really pretty.
@@CordeliaWagner Thank you so much. She is doing much better now and feels very ashamed over what happened, but is moving forward thankfully.
A part of him knew that it was a scam, but he just wanted someone to talk to.
i think that's with tech scams, because if I tried dating spelling someone online there'd be a ton of typos. 😅
@@Paputsza hahahaha. I mean, the scammers often say they are American or British, but then speak/write as if English is not their first language, or even second. Not little spelling mistakes and forgetting commas. Egregious mistakes in sentence structure, even. They do it on purpose.
@@robinnelsen7869 That's the point, obvious scam.
they just go the extra mile ignoring blatant typos, we don't even read it.
Rigby is like "I would never fall for a catfish, right mom?"
Girl that hair looks so good on you 😍
Agreed. Looks amazing!
Shoutout to Michelle for going CRAZY on her uploads lately. I finish binge watching her videos and think I'm done, go back to the home page, and BOOM she releases a new video!
IKR!!
Michelle has some of the best hair I have seen in a while
"she keeps asking for money but I'm sure it's real!" 🙄 if you don't want to get scammed make it a habit to check out of the conversation entirely once they start asking for money and y'all haven't even met yet.
I fell out when he said my girlfriend is an escort!! and had the nerve to be pissed!! 😂
Lol if only he knew she was an escort, he would have actually gotten some “services” for all that money he’s been spending. 😂
I do feel bad for people when this happens but sometimes I think I shouldn’t. Like this dude could have a real relationship, but he would rather pursue an impossibly perfect 10/10 woman than have something real.
I’ve seen plenty of men less attractive than him that have a wife or girlfriend.
When you said the puppy was allergic to the bullshit- I died!!!
I just hope he doesn’t stalk the real lady
the Buggy thirst is so real Michelle lmao
The saddest thing is he wouldn't like a woman who looks like him, had no money like him, was delusional like him.
As a man if you've your boobs👀 under your armpits and have a "relationship" with a hot girl for 4y but never video chat with that person AND you're aware of catfishing, you're on your own buddy
Somehow I already knew you were talking about Tyray’s delulu ass when just glancing at the title😭my mind I swear it even amazes me sometimes
Those are my favorite, the ones who are like "I've been in a relationship with Avril Levigne for 3 years" lol
did you see the2 different Johnny Depp ones. Hilarious. That one chick wanted Johnny to pay her back for the money she sent the scammer ROFL
@lauraanne5175 Girl, yes! I watched the one you're talking about then saw a different thumbnail. I can't believe they had 2 on the same channel 😫😭😭
@@AndyyWithAY IKR? 🤣🤣🤣
I want someone to look at me the way Rigby looks at Michelle 🥰
I don't even like Reality TV. It's not my thing. But I enjoy a rational person having fun and I'd listen to you talk about damn near anything Michelle.
In Germany we call it Trash TV and most of it is staged.
If it was real, the people who make these shows are very abusive...
It may sound callous but it's difficult to feel sorry when the situation is so damn ridiculous. These people are completely delusional
I love Michelle that's all ❤️
And I agree with you !!!
Amen 😂 she's the only reason I'm here. I hate these shows but I love her ❤❤❤
@@pettykittyfam I feel like that's probably true for many of us.
I love Michelle too and I think I also recognize the character in your profile picture 😂
Maybe the reason he was so drawn to catfish was because some part of him knew but was in denial like so many others on the show and found some subconscious sense of community. I hope he finds real love from himself before someone takes advantage of his heart.
SO IF I LOSE 100 LBS AND GO TO CLOWN COLLEGE THERES A CHANCE?
I do feel for People like him, he's obviously mentally ill and needs help, he can't make proper adult decisions but since he seems highly functional in social situations, he falls right under the radar.
Small budget for a flight? Why aren’t 90 Day Fiancé paying for it?!
10.39:😂😂 dog sneezes so cute bless you
I do feel bad for them because if someone holds on to a delusion that bad, there is most likely a reason for it.
Yeah that guys story was annoying me. I just kept yelling at the TV "you're on the wrong show. You need Nev!" Lol
They(people who fall for romance scammers) like their delusions and choose to stay in them. I don’t feel bad for them. ESPECIALLY!!! THE PEOPLE WHO SEND GIFT CARDS!!!
This felt like a very long episode of Catfish
Rigbys little sneezes are so cute 😭😭😭
2:06 cognitive dissonance is a really powerful thing. Even when you can see it in other people, it doesn't mean you'll be able to recognize it in yourself.
He’s an example of delu-lu is not always the solu-lu
Tyray... Honey... Stop please, for your sake, stop
Sadness is not what I feel for these people, it's definitely pity. There is absolutely no excuse anymore to fall for this shit
Listen, if I got stood up in a hotel room with chocolate patties, I’d be eating them things. I’ve earned them lol
Am I the only one that doesn’t feel bad for him? Anyone is capable of shallowness. Would he be this pressed over someone that was more like him?
Dont know how to spell his name but he should get a clue😅
You win!😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
He should have just got an OF scription at least he would have got something back for it
The doggie so chilll love the set up tooo
Michelle must have been working extra hard to BE this active!
'I had a relationship with your image' ...just stop...no pls 😂
I LOVE how spOOky you're background is and Love that your puppy dog joined you this time... he had very important commentary that really added to the vid!
Disturbingly delusional. I feel like a lot of people need professional attention like seriously, this happens too often.
Poor guy.. getting scammed is bad as it is but playing with someone's emotions 😢😟💔😔
It's 2023, there is no reason for people to still be falling for this trick😂😂
It's way easier to be catfished than you may think. Being lonely and wanting to be important to someone makes an easy target. Then you get in way too deep, too invested, and it's very hard to walk away even when learning the truth. I speak from experience. I love the new music at the end of your videos btw.
10:18 The sleep squints on Rigby are soooo adorable!!!
lol for some reason when she said 'Im not running my mouth' it sounded *exactly* like Mindy from the office 😂
I’m just being informed about this live action version of Buggy and now I can’t get his eyes out of my mind. Thanks Michelle.
My uncle fell for this kind of thing too. He send hundreds to a woman in the Philippines. They do video calls and stuff but its gone on for over 6 years.
WHY IS YOUR DOG SO ADORABLE. I HAD TO WATCH THIS VIDEO IN FULL TWICE
Girl, I am living for the recent increase of uploads, seriously making my day!!!
I like how no one in his family is impressed
I just love little doggo on the bottom of the screen.🥺
2:05 exactly why we shouldn’t feel bad. Get out here and talk to real woman/people
Michelle honestly I've had a few rough days and your videos always manage to make me smile ❤
You keep me motivated somehow
Wow! This is the worst idea involving a ukulele I have ever seen....... oh wait......
He seems nice, but it's obviously easy to take advantage of him. thank you for the video! ❤
I know it's for tv, but it's silly how often these people fall for these traps. A part of me feels bad, but I mostly just criticize them.
Omg Rigby just looking up at you the whole time was the most adorable f*ing thing 😩😩♥️
I personally don’t like video chatting but people in my life just see me in person instead lol. Anyway, I feel bad for Tyray but I’m shaking my head so hard.
The way that cutie baby doggo loves Michelle.....❤❤😭❤❤
