Very well articulated; I wish I had more time for trial and error, but I'll be 56 in October and I need ideas and advice on what investments to make to set myself up for retirement, especially with the looming inflation and recession; my goal is to have a portfolio of at least $500k at the age of 60.

Hahaha. It isn't only about the "endless" capital. We must realize that in the market, what works for A must not necessarily work for B. For instance, Ron invests for the long term, do you? Don't always jump on the bandwagon, make correct inquiries before putting your money somewhere or better still, get the services of a pro (that way, you give little room for error and get tailored investments). Made my first million earlier this year this way. Good luck!

Don't fight the market. Take what the market gives you. If there's volatility, use it to your advantage. A down day tomorrow is a good opportunity for long term investors to buy quality stocks and ETFs cheap.
Picking quality stocks require a lot of factors and seems daunting for beginners like myself. I would say the ideal thing to do is investing weekly into my Total Market Index Fund.
From my own point of view, you need to invest smartly if you need a good life, made over 600k investing with an advisor in my corner and I believe anyone can do it if you have the the right approach. Index funds takes long time but investing smartly is the key for short term.
That's been the problem I've had.. I bought a week ago set a purchase for a Dip price... I did not know it would trip on a major short attack that would have me on my last nerve... Watching 320k investment drop 110k this past few months has been torture.

I am new to the stock market. Every stock that I bought so far, I was out of luck because I bought them when they were expensive. I feel I missed on all the stock opportunities so far for the tech stocks.I believe having 75K yearly income would be a good investment so I want to plug all my savings into the stock market. I know this sounds a bit dull but I would like to know if I should learn investing or let somebody else (more capable like a FA) do it for me? Please share your thoughts. @@noahfleming8982 Even with the right technique and assets some investors would still make more than others, as an investor, you should’ve known that by now, nothing beats experience and that’s final, personally I had to reach out to a stock expert for guidance which is how I was able to grow my account close to a million, withdraw my profit right before the correction and now I’m buying again

Most difficult part about this current market environment for new investors, is filtering out the good from the bad. Just because a company is down 50%+, does not make it a sound investment. Do your OWN due diligence & invest in great companies or IFs/ETFs.
I struggle with this a little bit even as an “old” investor.. too many new ones I want to get into but trying to keep my portfolio somewhat trim for the snowball effect.
For you to succeed in the market a proper strategy is required and you need to always monitor the lines, great investors/traders do not panic on the dips because that's when they make their profits.
People do underrate the importance of a financial advisor that’s why you hear people losing money or getting liquidated or buying in on the very wrong assets as the case maybe. Let’s say you want to retire in 10 years, buy a home or send your kids to a private college, to accomplish these kind of goals you would definitely need skilled professional with the right licenses to help you make those plans a reality and this is where financial advisor comes in. My goal is to buy a contemporary home before I retire and ‘’Nicole Ann Sabin’’ has really helped me get closer to that dream.

I remember when I just got into crypto back in 2019 but later in 2020 I ended up selling it because I was dumb and I didn't understand it. I studied and learned and now I know how it works. Got back into crypto early in 2023 with 10k and I’m up with 128k in a short period of time .This comment serves as motivation for all those who have invested and continue to invest in cryptocurrencies with so many losses, do not give up, cryptocurrencies can change your life. Do your best to connect with the right people and you will surely see changes.

When Ron mentioned Space X as the 'internet for the entire world', my first thought that came to mind was how Elon provided internet for the people in Ukraine.

@@Greyalien587 specifically with a 100 million user base and 60$ per month just the residential internet arm of starlink will produce more profit than Apple when it first crossed 2 trillion, and with a growth rate far higher than any other company of its size.
