    The last generational talent was Lebron drafted in 2003. It took him 9 years to win his first championship and he did it with an already loaded Miami Heat. Just because you draft a really good player, it doesn't mean he will win a championship for you and if so it will take several years no matter how good he is. No doubt he will be a great player that's for certain, a championship well that's not so certain in today's ever changing NBA.

He is just like how Porzingis was when he came in the league with the shooting abilities just 1 inch taller. When Porzingis came into the league no one had ever seen a 7’3 player with his shooting abilities but he has missed so many games due to knee issues. I really pray that the NBA coaches won't decide to change his weight "because he's too skinny". Shooting is directly correlated to weight. If a person is naturally 90kg (200lbs) then as example going down to 85kg (190lbs) or going up to 95kg (210lbs) will most likely ruin their shot and lower the percentage. Also with his height any major increase of weight might make him more prone to injuries and noone wants that

    7'5", 8 foot wingspan, 10 foot standing reach. He can touch the rim standing flat footed. And he can touch the back of the backboard when he jumps. For those who think he's too skinny, remember they said that about Durant, too. In fact, this guy strikes me as a combination of Durant and Giannis.

    • @inefekt
      @inefekt Рік тому

      Durant isn't 7"5 barefoot....in fact, he's 6.9.5" barefoot...people call him 7ft because he's at least 6'11 with shoes on. Also, nobody knows if Wemby has stopped growing, he might end up 7'6 or 7'7 (which I believe would equal the tallest ever NBA player). That is a massive difference in height to KD, there really is no comparison at all between the two. And what's more, KD weight 215lb at the draft combine, Wemby weighs LESS than that (210lb) while being significantly taller....dude is a living matchstick, he makes young KD look like a bodybuilder

      Don't remember anyone really ever saying that about Durant because he was almost always a perimeter player and weight wasn't even considered an issue based on his frame. Ralph Sampson reboot. Ralph had all the same skills, and was on his way to dominating the league when injuries cut his career short. The problem with these tall thin guys is they are injury prone. When he starts mixing it up with guys twice his weight and playing the brutal NBA schedule, then we will see if he has the longevity. If he doesn't get some muscle on that frame to support his joints, he will get beat up.

    He is definitely a very talented player. At the college level he has the potential of being the most dominant player in the history of the NCAA providing he would play all 4 years.
    I am sorry to say when it comes to an NBA career his body type could not hold up to the "grueling" NBA schedule. He doesn't have enough body mass to withstand the contact of more muscular NBA players.
    Lastly, a player at his height only getting 7 to 8 rebounds per game will not "cut it" in the NBA. He will fill seats in the NBA arenas for awhile, but once his weaknesses are revealed he will be another "flash in the pan."

    As a basketball watcher, I'm a bit sad size plays such a decisive role. With giants the level of skill, speed, creativity is much lower.
    Players like Tony Parker, Stephen Curry or Luca Doncic bring so much more beauty to the game.
    What if there was no weight categories in boxing or MMA ? Only the very massive ones would be champions and many would complain about the loss in the show.

    Something to note about this going forward. The pelicans have the option to swap picks with the lakers in next years draft from the Anthony Davis trade. If the lakers have the terrible season they look like they are on track to have, they will have a good chance of winning the draft lottery. If they win the lottery, the pelicans will end up with the number 1 pick.
    The team of wembanyama, Zion (healthy), and Brandon Ingram on top of the good cast of role players they already have has the potential to be a league breaking team.
    This obviously depends on a lot of things happening and the odds of winning the lottery as the worst team in the league has gone down with the new lottery rules but just think of the possibilities man.

By now I think that Wemba j.s. is good against regoular season difence, but not yet for POs. He has obviously a ton of time to improve. He Is also poor in rebounds for his height to be compared to Wilt.
