    VW is basically a very skilled small forward but he's 7'4" where most of those guys are around 6'6"-6'8". His skillset is kind of similar to KD's but he's 5-6 inches taller. Love Wemby's attitude. His head seems to be on right. Maturity beyond his years for sure. Skill and genetically gifted for the game. Can we let him be new though? The conjecture gets exhausting and ridiculous after a while.
    Jokic is still the best big in the game. By far. With these past few seasons he has put his stamp on the invite to the all time greats conversation. Posting a triple double season opening win against the Lakers with shockingly typical efficiency. Hot off a finals MVP and NBA championship win. Bring Denver it's first ever trophy. He ate every last big he faced in that run. Two regular season MVP's in his back pocket. Arguably he should/could have gotten his third regular season MVP and in a row no less. Not one team has an answer for him. Don't see any reason to believe that has changed. He is now truly into his legacy era. So curious to see where he ends up.

    The physicality part of the game is not effecting him because he doesn't play in the post...he slashes through the paint, but he's not rooted down there because he can shoot, dribble and defend on the wing...SO ITS IMPOSSIBLE TO COMPARE HIM TO AN AVERAGE BIG MAN BECAUSE HE HAS THE SKILLSET OF A GUARD AND/OR SMALL FORWARD. Wimby has everything except "back to the basket" game...so he's more like a KD type of player than he is like Tim Duncan or David Robinson. Good on Paul to change his opinion. Most people when given an opportunity to change their opinion about someone, especially in regards to sports, never take that chance and double down on their previous statement while looking foolish. Wemby looks like what people projected a monstrous tall NBA center could do, just dominating. Yao Ming looked uncomfortable and unathletic for his size while Victor looks completely natural. He's going to be a problem for the unforeseeable future and it's going to have a lot of ripple effects.

      It's because in the age of social media, where anyone's opinion is timestamped and archived, people forgot one crucial thing: opinions change. People never stop evolving. Viewpoints can change in the course of one day or one year.
      Social media reinforced a false belief that one's opinion is set in stone forever, or else they be hypocrites. And people got afraid of changing or correcting their opinions because they fear online blowback, of which I think is crazy. So they double down as you said. And look foolish while feeling like shit inside.
      People should feel free to change any of their opinions without fearing the little crazy people online. After all, they're opinions and not facts.

    Rookie Shaq vs. rookie Wemby is not a fair comparison. Shaq was a 21-year old rookie. Wemby's 19. Two years at that early stage of a career makes a tremendous difference with experience, development and the ability to put on weight and get stronger.

    People’s evaluation of Wendy really proved if people do their draft evals based more on current skill level or potential. Victor is SKILLED. He’s not “oh he could be good if we polish him up” he’s already polished. He plays and thinks like someone who knows the game and not just playing off natural talent and instinct. I never watched a full game of dude but it was clear to tell he’s already the most skilled true big (at that age) since KG. Post game, brings the ball up the court, the stepbacks, his motor on defense. A true complete player at such a young age bro is about to shit on the league. I give it until next year. After that, spurs won’t miss playoffs again until he retires.

      Kobe wouldve loved Wemby. RIP Kobe. Wemby is the most skilled Big in the league already imo (Banchero is a close second but Wemby is just different; crazy high hoops IQ already; I think they are Finals contenders ALREADY, that's how nice Wemby is). It's nice seeing guys evaluate SKILL rather than slurp overrated Bron and his bulldozing layups (his only real move). SKILL is back baby! And i genuinely believe anybody who takes prime Lebron over prime Kobe has a mediocre hoops IQ, but that's just my opinion. I digress.
      This is the WORST Wemby will ever be. He will only get better. And if Kg, would was also slender (and who people said would need to bulk up to survive in the league - he didn't) as a teen could survive, I think Wemby will be just fine because these injury concerns are insanely overblown. He's been playing in PROFESSIONAL European leagues where the refs allow way more contact without bailing out stars with cheap fouls (e.g. 30% of Bron's free throw attempts are "ghost" fouls) so the physicality is nothing to him. He proved to be VERY durable in the French league and so why should we worry about his durability in the MUCH SOFTER NBA (this isnt the NBA from 1960 - 2010 when the league ALLOWED physical play, from 2011 onward the league consciously softened up the league after an "ugly" finals in 2009/2010 Laker - Boston series, which was very defensive and very physical).
      People have SHORT memories. Go read the scouting reports on Durant. People back then said Durant was too skinny to avoid injuries in the "grown man's NBA" and, achilles aside, he's been mostly healthy in his career.
      Wemby is GOAT potential. I say he finishes top 5 when it's all said and done.
      1. MJ
      2. Kobe
      3. Wilt
      4. Hakeem
      5. Wilt/Russell
      If he wins a ring before year 4, I say he ends up #1 ALL TIME.
      He's THAT special. And he will eventually develop a back to the basket game to preserver his legs - it's the most energy efficient way to play the game. It reduces the amount of plays you have to waste sprinting to create space. A post game is something OLDER players use to negate a defenders athleticism.
      Once Wemby develops a back to the basket game (which he doesnt need right now but can easily develop given how ridiculous his proprioception is in other areas of basketball).

    • @INumba1Stunna
      @INumba1Stunna 10 місяців тому

      That is part true for sure. It's a good thing I seen them giving out techs last night, for players flopping in the Celtics & Knicks game. 🤣 The NBA has some freak athletes and some strong mfs. But they can't play how they want to play, with players flopping around and refs calling some ridiculous offensive fouls every game. And even without the players flopping to the floor, refs still call very interesting stuff veryy often (the past 5 or 10 years). I wish I could see someone like Zion actually play bully ball. New Orleans would probably be Top 5 team in the league if offensive fouls didn't go "that" way. It doesn't gotta be full on "Shaq mode" level of play. But closer to that, than what we see on the court today. Same goes for some of the touch fouls on defense, or when you body someone up who is driving against you, some are a bit ridiculous. Also, I would like to see Wemby talk about that same topic at the end of this season when he does play every team and goes through the 82 game grind for a better assessment of the NBA level.

      He said it.
      Luka, Jokic, Giannis said it.
      It’s common knowledge for everyone who knows European Basketball and the NBA.
      NBA is more athletic, talented, cardio-intensive, and offensive.
      FIBA rules allow more contact, less fouls, less free throws, less space, not 3 second rule in the paint. It’s more defensive and team-oriented.
      The rules make NBA basketball less physical, and more of an entertaining spectacle of athleticism and talent.
      It goes fast, has dunks, open spaces, quick runs at the rim, longer games, more fouls to protect the player and make advertisement money.

    Heres the thing about shaq vs wemby. Shaq came in as the most physically dominate center and people would take him 10/10 times right now because we've seen shaqs career. But, if shaqs foot problems came earlier in his career, he wouldn't have been the great he is. Or if he team up with Kobe...and never won a chip. Legacies can change in a single moment (...just ask drose)
    Wemby is the most unique player we've ever seen because we don't know what his potential is. At every other position we know the potential...we've seen the Mjs or the curry's, or the LeBrons or KDs now. We've seen the physical and athlete peak for every position...except for the center. We thought we saw it with players like KD, porzingis as tall unicorns, but weve never seen a big man like this before, and thats the unknown. If he can stay healthy, wemby may be the most game breaking player in history.

    • @FordellCastleGaming
      @FordellCastleGaming 10 місяців тому

      @@CanditoTrainingHQ 1. We're talking about Centers not all positions. 2. We're talking about Rookies as right now, that's all we can compare their careers off of. Shaq Attempted 0 threes and made 0. 0% average. Wemby has put up 41 and made 12. 29% is dominant over 0% in the event you can't do math. Shaq shot 59% from the free throw line. Wemby is shooting 79% which is again dominant. We're a few games into the season. Let's revisit this at the end of the year and compare their rookie years. Wemby is going to put up better numbers overall. Shaq will have more points in the paint, and a higher shooting percentage overall and from 2 as I don't think he took a jumper in his entire career. Wemby shoots 3's. Also, PG talks about it, but long rebounds as players shoot radically more 3s now than when Shaq played. If you think Shaq was better more than 3 feet from the rim than Wemby, make your case. I don't think anyone on Earth sees that.

    • @CanditoTrainingHQ
      @CanditoTrainingHQ 10 місяців тому

      @@FordellCastleGaming None of those stats are dominant. 79% from free throw as a rookie isn't dominant. It's just better than Shaq lol. Dominant means something. It means you're the best at your area. You can make your case much better by saying being dominant in any one thing isn't as important as being pretty good. Wemby right now, at 44% and 29% and putting up 18 and 8 is pretty good.
      Shaq, as even a rookie, putting up 23 and 14 rebounds, and more blocks by far than Wemby was far closer to dominant already. And even then, he wasn't dominant until LA. But if we want to use the rookie handicap, then he's dominant. But yeah, he wasn't a shooter of course. Not really my claim.

    • @CanditoTrainingHQ

      Better defender, at least equal passer, higher volume scorer, more efficient scoring too, and dramatically more boards. Do style points for variety really matter when Wemby is worse defensively and offensively than Orlando Shaq?
