It always impresses me when a young player handles the media well. He is embracing the hype and coming off as very professional, not arrogant at all. Hope he has a great career.
I was hoping not to see any dumb posts.. only in America will you find arrogance and stupidity amongst the young athletes
@@Pgpadlock bro stfu soccer has some of the most arrogant players MOSTLY EUROPEAN
He is french ! 😎
He's a joke sold to your dumb@ss by mainstream media. He shoots 32% from 3, can't handle defenders over 6' 10", gets his ankles broken by fast players, can't pass without extreme spacing, and plays for a team that was tailored to simply showcase him. Complete BS. Dude also plays in a low-grade league comparable to NCAA division II. S-C-A-M

HEALTH, HEALTH, HEALTH is the key for VICTOR WEMBANYAMA. I saw and heard all the NBA players and analysts talking about VICTOR, I thought to myself "he can't be this unique", I was right, he's more unique than even I thought!
Hasn’t missed a game this year
That's right Dr Phil

With the 82 game schedule (he'll play 65-70), commercial shoots, NBA ALL-STAR GAME demands and so forth it will be important for VW to rest, recover and add a few pounds to his body so that he is prepared for the grind.
@@mhairsto24 All-Star Game demands? lol, guys at the ymca play twice as hard as the all-star game
I agree especially for a player his size….health is going to be extremely important for him to become successful in the NBA
I haven’t been this excited to see who gets the #1 pick since Lebron entered the draft. Victor could literally change the direction of a franchise before he even steps on the court.
He's injury prone

What I like the most about this kid are the things that he didn't need to do, but still he did them anyway.
Victor was always going to be the #1 pick, but he still played a season of professional basketball in Europe in the past year to keep getting better. He also didn't need to come over the the states to play against Scoot and the Ignite, but he still came because he wanted to compete. You don't see that in a lot of young guys nowadays no matter how talented they are. Like DeMar and PG said a while back, many players really only want the glory and wealth that come with being an NBA star. That's not who Victor Wembanyama is. He really wants to be the best player he can possibly be. I can't wait to see him develop in the future.
And it confirmed his expectations that the NBA would suit his style, even better than playing in the french league.
I’ve had a blast watching LeBrons whole career since we’re the same age. I’m really looking forward to watching this young man change the game again. It’s like Durant and Curry had love child.
More like Durant and Kareem had a love child.
Hope he will remain healthy so we can watch him play at his best.
I hope so but i don't think we will see much of him.
@@michaelpetrovich5353 stfu and let the kid come into the league first. Nba fans are pathetic
If Embiid can't stay healthy this man definitely can't
@@oreoakalaperoji8314 Embiid has had problems with his health since he was in college. This kid has been playing pro for like 3-4 years and has missed less than 5 games lol
@@michaelpetrovich5353 we will. Trust me. I'd bet my life on it.
I’m not a Spurs fan. But him and Pop together would be crazy 🔥
This aged well
He’s just gotta get over the hurdle that so many “can’t miss” prospects have struggled with over the years. Staying healthy. If he can do that, he is the future.
Kid was clearly in good hands every step of the way. Super athletic parents. Coaches had him watching old Pistol Pete tapes was a genius move. He has clearly worked diligently on his English because he speaks it incredibly well already. If he is able to stay healthy, it should be a very fun career!
I love that he was learning from one of the greats, Pistol Pete Maravich. If you want to get good at something, you learn from the best. That’s just really cool to me as a big Maravich fan. Victor is gonna be son fun to watch
Pistol Pete is a true pioneer love him never hear people look up to him very cool to see
People under 25ish would just call him a plumber bc they have no respect for different eras. Pathetic way to act, Pistol Pete and many others are legends that demand respect.
@@DTMJR1987 absolutely. Pistol practiced more than anyone since he was 8. Imagine if he grew up today with that same practice and with the knowledge of a 3 point line and the basketball culture. That would be insane

Honestly man I cannot wait, let the resurgence begin
Victor has everything. He can shoot 3s, is big asf, athletic, has elite defense etc. Hopefully he doesn't fall off or gets injured.

The sky is the limit for him and he's the perfect player to lead the next generation, health is gonna be his biggest hurdle but if he can stay healthy man its gonna be scary
How is he the perfect player to lead the next generation? He's a twiggy giant from france who has a weird look and an akward looking game for his size.
@@poocrayon4588 he's a 7'5 freak of nature with guard skills, good mobility and defensive potential I dont get why people sleep on his potential like he cant get stronger and more skilled with experience. Yall acting like every player is perfect in their rookie year and dont have any room to grow
@@poocrayon4588 Why so negative? Lol
@@tuff1239 jealousy and bitterness. And maybe xenophobia
@@blakstar8219 Because generally 7'5 guys dont have the same potentiall to muscle up without serious injury in the way a smaller guy would and tend to get hurt when they play like shorter guys would. We'll see but usually big dudes like this that get into that real giant height are very breakable. The human body just (usually) cant cope well at that height.
I love his mindset. Basketball as a form of expression. That's going to take him far
He's Ralph Sampson 2.0 ...... For anyone who doesn't know Sampson was 7ft4in tall and the best College basketball player and #1 overall pick. He was skinny and dominant. But injuries derailed his career
Great comparison. I think Wemby comes into a different nba than Samson where big men are allowed and encouraged to shoot from further away. Also rule changes protect outside players way more than Sampson's era. Time will tell. But again, great comparison.
He's very very mature too and well surrounded by his family
He's mature because he isn't intaking dumb culture like American kids do. He isn't on media much. He is doing the principles you must to win in life. He isn't impressive. He is just doing what we all choose not to do. Work and stay positive. You might not be tall like him but you can earn 7 figures and 6 figures even more quickly
When Luka was tearing up the Euroleague as a teenager americans was saying he wasn't special, seems like the americans have learned their lesson.
when you look at your navel too much you don't see what's going on elsewhere...
until the day when the USA will have to give up the gold medal at the Olympic Games or send their best team, it hasn't already gone very far the last time... without Victor, and other really promising young people here in France, or elsewhere in the world
Never been more excited for a Draft Lottery in my life.
Go spurs Go! Tanked the whole season for Victor!

With all this hype, the kid better deliver when he starts. Pop and Tim D will have a field day shaping this kid for greatness.

this dude is going to the Spurs and the league will make sure of that. The Spurs have that french connection and they are the best franchise to draft him out of the top three picks

If he lives up to his expectations and stay healthy throughout his career, we're gonna have one heck of a documentary.
2023 to 2024 gonna be fun, a new force in the NBA! 😀
I desperately hope the Spurs get the #1 pick
Spurs are about 2 to 3 years away from actually competing at the higher end. The Detroit Pistons have the squad ready to compete now, having gone 3 full Seasons of restoration. Pistons offer everything that Wembanyama wants now and going forward. He'll be The Pistons' 4th Final core piece, to already add to Cade, Ivey and Duren.

Wemby is incredible! Next big NBA superstar 🌟 A real humble respectful guy😊
I really hope bro reaches his potential. Likely gonna struggle next year but hope he shows all the signs of a future star, also it's crazy hearing all these euro players confirm how much easier it is to score in the NBA compared to euro leagues lol
The defense in euro leagues are just incredible, it's impossible to have all the spaces for shooting you have in the US leagues (NCAA or NBA). That's why Wemby scored more than 30 points in his two first games in the US
(Sorry for my english 😉🇨🇵)
Dude is 5 inches taller than giannis, and more all around, wow. Time will tell
The Whole world is watching for 'The Future'
He’s going to win MVP in his rookie year.
FACTS! He's a unicorn or something. I've never seen anything like it & he's so fast😩🤧‼️
Bienvenido a Tejas! Felicidades!🍾
Victor "career-ending injury just around the corner" Wembanyama. This is perhaps the greatest example of group-think I have ever seen in sports. Oden, Ming, Olawakandi, Bowie, Shawn Bradley, George Muresan.....on and on and on....never draft someone over 7'1", Holmgren is another recent example of this fools gold.
Please let him goto San Antonio
He'll be playing there in a Detroit Pistons jersey.
👀
The top European prospects are just better prepared. They are better coached, they are already acclimated to being professionals and they are more grounded. Of course football is the top sport in Europe, and in France rugby is second to football so being a youth basketball star isn’t that big a deal there, so the kids are well adjusted. This kid will succeed.
All I know is he's going to help a franchise win a lot of games!!!
Look forward to seeing him in the league. Would be cool to see him on the Pacers, but if not hopefully he goes to the Western Conference.
Greatest prospect of all time.
Kareem trust me
bro's parent were like the scientist mixing them concoction in the bedroom to create Victor Wembanyamas.

A lot of pressure
I remember watching his 1v1 with Gobert before. I think that was 2 or 3 years ago. From that moment I knew he's gonna be a beast
the way he pronounces Detroit makes it sound like a beautiful place
Funnily enough, Detroit is a french world that mean strait, which is not surprising considering the city was founded by french settlers.
@@cyrilspencer6689 And the strait gate is exactly the narrow path The Detroit Pistons have took the last 3 years to complete their full restoration rebuild from ground zero. It's been 3 long hard gruelling years, but they now have a Team on the verge of competing with the very best in the League. The Detroit Pistons is Team Victor Wembanyama will be playing for.
Je ne peux pas imaginer ce que c'est de faire l'expérience de ce que d'être aux yeux du monde comme l'est Victor.

Health is the KEY for Wemby!
GOAT beginning
His toughest challenge will be to stay healthy because of his height and weight historically guys that size stay hurt and can barely play 4 years. He's already has some serious injuries
At his age he has not had any serious injuries
Dude imagine any big solid guy running through this dude? He's gonna get scrambled like an egg
What serious injuries??? Get your facts right
