Hi there, James Myers here! I am a professional singer, actor and voice teacher. In this video, I work with my college age musical theatre voice student during a typical voice lesson. This video features our work during warm-ups/vocal exercises and work on repertoire. My student William who is a tenor, sings the song, "You'll Be Back" from the musical, "Hamilton" and the song, "Waving Through a Window" from the musical, "Dear Evan Hansen. This is the full hour long lesson, lightly edited for clarity. I hope to upload future videos that feature shorter clips from this long form video. It's my thought that these future, separate, individual videos will feature work on each of the songs individually.
Here is a breakdown with time stamps if you wish to jump to different sections in the video:
    0 minutes 0 seconds: Introduction
    0 minutes 46 seconds: Vocal Exercises/Warm-ups
17 minutes 05 seconds: "You'll Be Back" from Hamilton
34 minutes 33 seconds: "Waving Through a Window", Dear Evan Hansen
49 minutes 27 seconds: Closing thoughts
Thank you for watching. If you were interested in clicking the like button for this video and subscribing to my youtube channel then that would be greatly appreciated. If you have any questions, please feel free to write or leave a comment. I will do my best to get back to you.

Nice vid! :D I'm hust sitting here asmiring your voices and trying to listen very carefully to the advices since I've got the range if like A2 - A3 with chest voice but I SOUND like a tenor (or like a young man). After A3 I flip into a very very weak head voice and I'm so sad because I can't figure out to do about it. Also I've always got like a yelling timbre, which can sound nice at certain moments, but not always. That's why I'm so interested in a mix because I think it will give or teach me more of that "singing tone" that I'm looking for. Do you perhaps have any tips on how to develop/find/feel a mix for me? Right now I believe my bridge is very low and my chest very "yelly" since I haven't worked with a vocal coach that can help me inform what it should feel like when singing a type if way. 😬🥲
