@@ludicscience I think there should be an effect.
It should elongate the flame, and maybe even cause the candle to burn faster because some of the ions will be accelerated downward, towards the wax, heating it up more than usual. Or it might extinguish the flame.
Now I kinda want to try this..

Would be interesting to generate an ion wind like that inside of a sealed torus like a particle accelerator to see how fast the wind would accelerate to and if one can put in multiple accelerators like this. If it was transparent plastic hose and wind powerful enough to move glitter that would be neat to see.
