    I never thought I would love bts’s ballad songs because I’ma HipHop and rap lover, yet I still loved black swan and blood sweat and tears. Bts introduced me to many types of music and I thank them for it, I hope they continue to make music with different genres.

      The vid went right over your head did it not?
      Some peope vibe with music.
      That is okay.
      But they are not real fans and will jump off as soon as it is not the "sound" they want.
      The artists don't own you anything and if you don't like it?
      Move on.
      There are artists you will like more.
      That is absolutly okay.
      But if you really love BTS and are a fan?
      You will not live with the nonsense narrative of "I miss BTS old sound".

      It's also from those who have never actually dove into their discography & only know a few title track songs, they pick an era they "love" for the esthetic or looks combined with the sound when their albums have a multitude of sounds

    I feel like people say that because they think they see these artists as a way to say "I am different from others, I'm the only one capable of understanding this" and when everyone starts to see it, they're not special anymore. I also agree with you and people need to understand that we might relate to an artist at some point in life and then the artist goes in another direction and that's okay, we can still exist without these artists and other people will relate to them

    • @vmarie9535
      @vmarie9535 Місяць тому +2

      Moving on is healthy if your needs are no longer being served by that particular artist. Trying to hold them back is very unhealthy, for both fan and artist. BTS plans to finish out the 'most beautiful moment in life' chapter. I wonder how many people will follow them as they move on to the' owning my personal artistry' chapter. They are part of a conglomerate now, responsible for many lives, fortunes and futures. The carefree days are gone.

    If you have open mind about music you will be on roller coaster ride with Bts i never listened to rap before bts 😂 never understood different types of dances , never knew of how diverse genres of music are as botacity is listening to Bts can be the most fun experience you will ever have you can never expect what's next . It's series of adventures 💜

      Do you have an open mind about music, or just BTS? I wonder, do you now listen to other rappers, other vocalist, different artist who do various genre of music or watch dance performers from all over the world? Just curious. No need to reply, I think I know already.

    i think people also say they "miss the old bts" because they don't bother to actually listen to their whole discography and they just see the dynamite and butter type songs and think that they are ENTIRELY different which is wrong, they also have some songs similar to old ones! they just don't know that

    • @em5522

      Ppl make it really obvious that they use this excuse to put down the English trilogies solely bc they can't handle the fact the English songs are so crazy popular (and they never take into consideration that the popularity is more reflective on the audience's tastes than on BTS's artistic values).
      Those same ppl will also ignore all of the songs that came out between and after the English songs that contradict this complaint too.

    Thanks for this Vex. Food for thought about other groups too as they evolve and grow. Food for thought about our own lives accepting that we need to grow and evolve too and not stay in one spot. The only thing I’d say about sometimes preferring older music (not specifically referring to BTS) is that mainstream radio played western music today has a style I really find hard to listen to especially around young kids with too much gratuitous swearing, only about love/broken relationships, sexual themes and innuendos. It is actually why I stopped listening to new music for a while before I found K-pop (and yes, I realise some contain the same innuendos but much less often, well maybe it’s the ones I’ve been drawn too that don’t have much!). I even started to enjoy rap which I couldn’t from western songs.

  • @vmarie9535
    @vmarie9535 Місяць тому +2

    My guy, I'm impressed. You are one of the few people to address this issue with a level of maturity. "Are you willing to grow and evolve with the artist." "Are actually going to take the time to hear them out, to understand where they are coming from." Brilliantly said, I'm sincere when I use that word. Your insight is spot on. Unfortunately, most people who follow groups are not willing to grow and evolve with the members. After watching the infighting for decades, I'm done with groups. I'll support members as individuals, but the baggage of their fandoms isn't worth the headache. Fans turn these groups into Gods and are shocked to discover they are imperfect humans who've changed. I'm glad I stumbled across this video. Stay strong and keep your integrity.

    Life is messy and art imitates life! I really like how BTS never does the same thing over and over but they constantly try different genres and concepts. Change is a part of life and that is reflected in their music! I absolutely love their discography!

    The people that say that kind of thing are the same people who complain if their group or artist always sounds the same then they become boring. Groups/soloist can never win with those types of people.
    Also a lot of those who say that about BTS not all but a lot were never even fans to begin with.

  • @roguechevelle

    Yes BTS have even revisited their old albums by taking an intro song from each of their first 3 albums and using their own songs as a sample to remake into a new song. These are on the "Map of the Soul:7" albums and it's extremely creative. Boracity Magazine has some great videos, her video about "Why the industry is afraid of BTS" is another great one. Most people new to them aren't aware of how corrupt the industry actually is, how much they have struggled to get where they are, and how the industry both western & korean have been actively trying to take them down now for years.

    I liked your reaction
    Their solos taught me how different they are and the miracle that bts is! All 7 of them have to agree to the songs to put in bts album, so you can see from their solos their tastes and ability. Of course their music changes, evolves , sometimes comes back and so on.

    BTS did go mainstream by making global appealing pop songs in English. Doesn’t mean those songs aren’t good. For ARMY that has been around for awhile, we love the old BTS, but we also appreciate mainstream DYNAMITE and BUTTER era BTS. That was after Covid.
