Nice video. Instructions are crystal clear should I want or need to add heated seats to my NB in California, (very unlikely). 0:50 "in the US it was less common" should be "it was non-existent". I don't believe any US market NA or NB Miatas ever had heated seats from the factory.
Thanks for the compliment. I wasn't sure if heated seats on the NB2 were ever used in the US, so now I know. At least those who want it, now have a wiring diagram for it. I have seen some people delete the passenger airbag switch and that is exactly where the original switch for the heated seats could go. Those radio surrounds can easily be swapped to make room for it. By the way: with cruise control it was the other way around. That was never an option in Europe until the facelift of the NC. So we need to import used parts from North-America if we want to retrofit the original system for it.
I am looking to install heated seats on my nb1. As far as I'm aware they're working. The seats came out of a phoenix edition model. How hard would it be to retrofit these nb2 seats to make the heating function work on my nb1 if i could accquire both the relays and the wiring looms from the donor car(the car where the pheonix seats came). Thanks!
You could use the wiring diagram I showed in the video for inspiration. You could simply replicate that diagram. Getting the connectors that match with the connectors of the seats will make it more convenient. The same goes for the original switch, but alternative switches and relais would work as well. Just make sure to use a dedicated 20A fuse. Of course, it does not have to be in the fuse box under the dashboard.

Dankjewel voor de video, ik ga er in het weekend mee aan de gang. Hopelijk is het makkelijk op te lossen.
