Thank you! Hopefully the travel ones will come soon. We’re still waiting to pick up our truck from the port. The boat is still on its way across the Atlantic
Im going on a 10 000km trip in my Mercedes t1n 4x4 this summer.. my spareparts are U-joints, wheelbearings and the most necessary sensors for the engine, some tape, zippties, fuses, wires, extra engineoil and a basic toolsett 👍 ofc a big service and checkover before and on the trip. Sick van! Good luck on the big jurney 🤓
Thank you for your comment! With a T1N you can be more relaxed than us :) as you can find them all over the world! So finding spare parts will also be retively easy I think. Which way are you going?
@@OverlandSite true 👍 but i like to be prepared for som remote raodside fixes. Going from Norway down thru Sweden, Denmark, Germany, Austria, the Alps, Croatia then up thru Slovenia, Hugary, Poland, Finland over 4 weeks 👍
Good luck on the trip! I hope COVID isn't going to ruin it all.. I know Eva was planning on a trip over at the America's with her Defender but she cancelled it all... It should be an awesome trip though!
Now, when I know what are you doing for a living, it's make perfectly clear to me from where you speak English so well :). One question about car insurance... Why you need to insure your car over there, does europian insurence does't coverege all already? and what you will do with your car M.O.T. if you will travel longer than 12 months? Keep the good work! ❤
Unfortunately the European insurance only covers Europe. In most countries you need to buy local insurance just after the border crossings. In Asia or Africa that's usually a number of dodgy shacks competing with each other for your business. Not sure what they would cover in case of an accident but it's required by law in most countries so if you get stopped by police, you need to show it to them. However in Canada and the US it's a different story. It needs to be a proper pre-arranged insurance. Not so much for the US as you can easily enter the country without it (apparently), but if you end up in an accident, they'll probably sue you out of existence.
Oh and regarding MOT, it just simply expires. We know overlanders who left their home country more than a decade ago, but never had to worry about their MOT in a foreign country outside Europe.
@@OverlandSite Well, what about green card? It covering some parts of the world? For example, we didn't need it for Tunisia or Morocco or any of balkan countries (ex yu).
@@adventureoverland9044 yes the Green Card is a good solution in Europe and around Europe, but not in the Americas or further in Asia or Africa: www.cobx.org/article/45/gc-system-composed-green-card-bureaux-48-countries-participating-system

Which task is the most challenging from those on your list?
It was to find insurance for Canada and the US. But it looks like we were able to find a company that will be able to send us a quote soon.

hát ez bonyolultabb, mint álmomban gondoltam volna...
Eleg sok mindent kell elore atgondolni, de mivel kisebb utakkal kezdtuk, ezert lepesenkent megtanultuk hogy mit kell figyelembe venni
