Great information. I just purchased a bag of muriate of potash part of the lawn that's low on potash because the fert I was using, Milorganite, has no potash. I didn't use sulfate of potash because the sulfur levels were high from the soil test from a few months ago. Should I still consider using a different potash or go heavy with irrigation to prevent salt buildup?
What I am wondering about is there any economical way of applying potash in a liquid form, and is it more mobile in the liquid form since I am told that granular 0-0-60 does not move but when it is broadcasted on top only about 1/2 of it is available to the plant.
Compass Minerals sells a spray grade sulphate of potash that is super clean and dissolves easily. It is called "Protassium +" pro tassium plus, it is mined in Esterhazy Saskatchewan Canada but sold by Compass in the US. Here it is about 50$ cdn for 50 pounds of 0-0-50....so probably 30% less if your in the US.
You shouldn't apply DAP as the foliar spray. Apply to the soil Instead of foliar spray. If you want to increase amount of Phosphorus, apply to the roots because P is better and more suitable for roots instead of absorbing by the stomata.
Many soils in the Midwest (USA) naturally have abundant K, enough for 100’s of years of crops. Adding 0-0-60 fertilizer accelerates compaction and harms soil biology. A mineral extraction type of soil test is necessary to determine actual K levels in soil. If you need it, then use it. But make certain before you apply.
Where I live we have a chronic potassium deficiency in the entire area, same with nitrogen. Phosphorous is usually fine, we also suffer from micronutrient deficiency
Thanks for the info, clear and precise. This video felt like a very well delivered chemistry lesson! 👌
What about a DIY type of potash, any recommendations?

Got my soil test results for my lawn n says I need 0 0 60 10 lbs per thousand. Is MOP is ok?
Question can k be used while harvesting
Good job!
I want to increase availability of Phosphorus. I have access to DAP. Should I dissolve it in water and flood or use as a foliar spray?

Great info. Thanks.
Could a foliar application of muriate of potash used to induce flowering of mangoes have the reverse effect such as stopping the flower cycle?
ashes from wood, or plant material is good for soil, it increases plant growth.
Very informative.
Thank you!
Good info!!
Mop in citrus orchards used ?????
He looks like Slim Shadys Father
Thanks sir

cool dude
greetings people
Dude look up Mark copper Reed ok lol I think your brothers
This video does not teach you how to make potash
Burn organic matter, wood ash
I'm first
