Went to the store after work today and picked up the only bottle they had on your list which was the Espolon Respado. I now know I've been drinking the wrong tequila my entire life. Thank you for your recommendation!
Great video, here in the uk the selection from local supermarkets isn't that great found a local place selling olmeca altos blanco it's lovely patron is available but expensive for the size of bottle 35cl is the same price as the olmeca 70cl, keep up the great work loving your channel and all the useful information
Trader Joe's! Never even thought of going in there. Right next door to total wine in Bloomington Minnesota. You talk about certain tequilas that are ok for mixed drinks do you have a favorite Margarita recipe? Thanks for the recomendations alway looking for something new.
I just went down to La Bodega looking for the Espanita, but they didn’t have it. I told the owner I was looking for a reposado in the $40-$50 range, he recommended Campo Azul 1940 Mil Nueve Cuarenta. I know most of this distillerys products are diffuser-made, but this is additive free and traditionally made. Is this one you would consider doing a review on? I couldn’t find one on your channel.
Hey Hombre! can we check in on Espolon? has anything changed? I drink it somewhat regularly for mixing but I have heard about it having additives on social media. I've never been burned by it so far but id like to know if something changed with the process that reduced the quality.
Don'y believe the additive rumors. Those people don't know what they are talking about and are guessing. I can revisit Espolon but if you enjoy it, drink it no matter what anyone says.
Here are my budget blanco picks to try in addition to your list: at about $25: El Mayor, Tres Agaves, and Corazon (in that order) are excellent for the $, very enjoyable sipped. Next is $35ish: Pasote - if you see it, just buy it! It's soooo good for this price (stone/brick oven cooked, tahona crushed). The only negative is you can easily drink too much, its so soft and flavorful! @The Tequila Hombre if you have not reviewed some of these, go for it!
You should watch the videos on the channel. Pasote is not a budget option. Tres Agaves used to be good before it switched distilleries.. now it's not good. Corazon is Meh at best.. no where near as good as any listed on this video. Thanks for the comment!
@@TheTequilaHombre dude! all 3 have very solid reviews on tequila matchmaker to back me up. I'm still looking for better $21-25 bottles locally. From your list - Altos and Kirkland are mixers. I'm sipping! I'll have to try espolon ..but TM reviews are lower than my picks. Pasote is a steal at $35! I am talking blancos of course
@@psonic8053 Try the Sangre Alteña blanco. It's better than the three you like (Which are mixers to me except pasote which still isn't a budget tequila) It's delicious and a steal at $29.99. additionally, PuraSangre Fuerte blanco, it's $39.99 for s liter and blows Corazon and Tres Agaves out of the water AND it's higher proof. I would add Suerte, Cimarron, Costco blanco (kirkland), El Tequileno blanco. I would not hesitate to pull the trigger on any of these for mixers. I would sip the suerte though :)
@@TheTequilaHombre Gran Centenario Anejo is another good one the people can check out for Vampirios & Ranch water, (its hot outside). I realize you only sip but the title read 5 solid budget tequila brands, not 5 solid sippers ;)

Thanks for the videos, love this one, unfortunately, none of these are budget priced where I live. As soon as the word gets out that they’re well made the price jumps like 30 %. Maybe it’s just Chicago or something.
No Trader Joe’s in Hawaii. I’ve seen Esolõn, and I would have bought it if the bottle was nicer. I bought Mexico’s #1 seller... I forgot the name, it starts with a “J” (Jamedor?), and the bottle looks good next to my Don Julio and Milagro Silver. Thank you for your video 😊

@@TheTequilaHombre You are right .... last night i got me ALTOS Tequila....100% and the diffeence is like day and night. Im not going back to Less than 100%.
EL Toro , 10 bucks 750ml. Bottle. It not only comes with a little plastic Sombrero top....., but you can drink it, use it for a disinfectant , and lose all sence of taste and smell and time and space.
I came across a budget brand a while ago that others have reviewed and “underrated”...I’ve purchased a few bottles as a joke, to me it smelled horrible (acidic, oakey, almost cheesy), however, I did try it and it was soft, grassy, and had a very creamy finish. The tequila is Cabrito and it’s from the same distillery as Centinela. Maybe you can review and explain what is going on with it... Thanks 😎
I bought espolon repo $19.99 at Total Wine. It's the best compared to El Jimador/ Jose Cuervo/ etc. Somehow Trader Joe's gave me massive headache after drinking. No mas.
Rancho Alegre is 100% blue agave and super cheap($8.99). Nice shooter and margarita option but the pepper profile doesn't blend well with grapefruit. Not great but serviceable

I would add La dulce Vida organic blanco for consideration. Outstanding flavors and $24.99 in Miami Beach, so likely less everywhere else.
Dulce.Vida is good but not in the same league as these.. Thanks for the comment and for watching!

We love Espolón reposado. It has become a staple for us. It sells for about $25 for 750 ml here in AZ.

Yes. ALL of them..

Kirkland didn't make your list? you really liked the Anejo for $20 ! Thanks for this great video... I subscribed.
Thanks for the sub! I haven't done the review of Kirkland yet when this was created. It is a good budget tequila though!
@Spmnambulist Kirkland Anejo is a good one for the price. The blanco is not bad either. I like both of them for mixers, (Vampiros & Ranch Water) ;)
ever tried Cascahuin?, highly recommended
Yes, I have reviews of it on this channel.
Have you tried the trader joe's mezcal? debating whether or not to pull the trigger on buying!
