No kidding, I've seen a guy not so long ago at a local coffee spot who was sitting with a whole laptop stand, mechanical keyboard, wired mouse, full side overhead headphones and fricking biggest charging station I've seen. Crazy stuff
Yeah, laptops are usually all about being portable. But for some folks who need to juggle multiple tasks or do creative work, a dual-screen setup might actually come in handy. It’s not for everyone, but could be a solid option for those who need that extra screen space. It’s definitely a niche product, but for the right person, it could be a game-changer.
I am watching this because tech dweeb videos make me happy. I ate half my giant sammich and about to take nap, and Tech Dweebs docile tones will lull me to sleep.
I would just flip the second screen around to the back of the first screen, then put my face on it using that crummy camera and INSIST that people look at it when they talk to me. You know ... like on dates and job interviews and such.
Hmmm... This way you could even run some app to turn you into a a big bearded fat guy without rotten teeth to minimize the impact of being a scrap bearded fat guy with with rotten teeth (and a stray eye). Cool.
Great review and very timely for me! I'm currently waiting for the GPD DUO campaign to launch and it was great to watch a review of another dual-screen laptop. Personally, I prefer the vertical orientation and specs of the DUO, so will be sticking with it, but was nice to see another option.
If it opened vertically instead of horizontally I think it'd be a lot more interesting. With a second screen that was taller on a desk the second screen as a primary would be more eye level and generally a better experience. It could still fold down or back and have the same functionality. I imagine the way it would effect the center of gravity and tipping points is why they didn't. But that's what I'd want.
@@Whatsup_Abroad They have a concept for one. If you click "order now" you'll find it doesn't go anywhere. You can't purchase it. As it stands right now it's not a product.

Awesome review! I mean there's likely a market for something like this, especially windows users. Personally, I kind of feel like it's a hardware solution to a UX problem within the OS. Once you use an OS with ACTUAL good virtual desktops (unlike Windows), you don't really have the need for two screens. In Manjaro Gnome I can easily flick between desktops with a touchpad gesture. When I actively work with two desktops I find it more efficient to do a quick "touchpad flick" instead of needing to drag the mouse over to the secondary screen. Ultimately the virtual dekstop route enables you to window placements and mouse movement into muscle memory.
I remember two "dual screen" laptops from about a decade ago. One had no keyboard and two panels so it was like a large Microsoft Surface Duo. The other had a two panels back to back in the lid. You could do some work and the person opposite could watch a movie. Neither caught on. I wonder if this will?
Cool video, this seems pretty niche , kinda reminds me of when foldable phones first came up. They were cool for trying something new and some people really like them but even after many years and improvements, they are still a slim minority of the phones you see everyday users carrying.
Maybe due to them beeing also expensive - not to mention clunky as that skinny dweeb in the school that used to be the last one chosen for the games in the gym due to not even can walk without getting breathless - but not hit exactly the spot of more powerful and cheaper devices... Just imagine the mess if, by example, Nintendo announce the Switch2 being a step back to their DS era while offering a dockable dual screen handheld PC like with two displays of 10~14" each? Some would be able to buy a small house with its MSRP!
Funny, I noticed on Amazon a week ago single screen laptops with secondary and tertiary screen attached, meaning your current single screen laptop can have a second screen bought then physically attached to it or a 2 additional screen attachment attached to it for a total of THREE SCREENS!! =D

What I would like to see is This, but better. Since sometimes you want it in portrait, sometimes you want it on top of the other, sometimes you want it on the right side. I think this could be done using pogo pins and strong magnets. With the option to screw the hinge to both devices for added security.
The laptop seems ok, BUT THAT SSD, BROOOOOO, I m getting one of those. It looks awesome ! I will look it up and if its worth it, I am getting one of those for my Odin 2.
Cool video techdweeb. I recently turned my old android phone into a dedicated portable hand held using a razer kishi and doujisho. I was inspired by all your handheld videos but realised my old smart phone in the drawer had higher specs than a retroid and it would be silly to buy something else when I could repurpose something I already have. Just wondering if you've ever done this or considered doing a video on it as I'm sure you would find cooler ways than I did.
With a laptop that can handle PSX (upscaled to 720p) and PSP (at 2x), will you do a low end PC/laptop game recommendation list? Like would Chrono Trigger Steam Edition work? Or what would be a great starter pack of Steam/GOG/etc games?

What we really need is a laptop powered by the Anbernic H700 the Lapzizzle haha. The laptop is pretty unique , very niche of course but it's interesting enough that I could see it being useful on short work trips and what not.
Those dual screen laptops with the detachable keyword where the two screens are on top of each other just seem like the better way to do it though I think those things are usually smaller so they're probably worse in some ways kind of like using a tablet with a keyboard.
I'd make the case for an external display peripheral instead of this, you can use it on multiple devices of your choice, instead of tying you down to this specific model.🤔
It is not the first dual screen laptop, there have been concepts and some gofundme dual screen laptops, but there is 1 main stream 2 display computer avaliable that I remember, the asus zenbook, lenovo prov also has 1 that should be shipping by now.
LMAO "Shadow of the Tomb Raider" that name still makes me laugh, were at a point where game names are now merely a mash up of titles from other games. =P
I think it’s a cool idea but am I crazy for thinking it would have been even more awesome if the double screen flipped vertically lol. I just feel like for a laptops ergonomics it would feel more natural to have a taller screen then wider ?
I think this is a cool idea, but I think if I used a laptop much I would rather it just be one screen and if I need a second screen plug an external monitor up to it instead of this. That being said, I guess it is good to have options.
I have a stack of broken laptops in my closet and at least 3 of them have broken hinges which cracked their plastic housing. Overall, l I don't see what advantage this has over plugging in a portable monitor, like the sort you've featured in the past. They're not expensive. I guess if you use a laptop exclusively for gigantic spreadsheets and travel a lot this saves the trouble of plugging something in, but with the hinge vulnerability I wouldn't really want to travel with it. Also, the second screen will always be skewed at a weird angle given its fixed hinge with the main display. And why isn't it touchscreen? It could function as a gigantic convertable tablet sort of thing if it could be stored with a touchscreen facing out.
They probably should have put the second screen on the other side. Anyone using a mouse is going to be pulling one way and staring off in the other, which will be neck-twisting.
