Thanks Dylan. Mine came with no instructions. I swear they used cement on the threads with the tip that was already in there. So annoying.
I have one like this that the tips do not come out of. but as long as it came with additional tips, you should be fine changing them
Same here 😂 awesome and simple video, thank you!
same here. pliers aren’t even working 😂 and yes it came with other tips
Omg same
I cannot take off the damn point and I want to start already!!!!
Thank you for the advice great video and content
Thank you soo helpful! I was worried about breaking my new burner, there were no instructions, but this video was super helpful!
Im really happy to be able to help!
Thank you Dylan. Got a Weller 15 tip starter kit. Just starting this… should be fun.
thats great to hear! Best of luck with your new craft!
Thanks for the tip❤
You are amazing my friend,i hope you are doing well :) thanks for this video!!
Helped a lot, I didn't want to break it. All it needed was a little twist from a tool!
Thanks Dylan!
no problem!
Soldering iron type must allow to cool down between changing tips !
absolutely!
I wish I would have known this before I started because my tool broke of and if stuck in the woodburnner
Same! 😫
Lol
How long though? Just warm enough to touch? Or wait till cold?
Another good tip Dylan 👍😂
thank you!
Your directions are perfect.
Thank you
Thank you
Thanks very helpful couldn’t figure it out at first
no problem!
Thank you!
Thank you, I just bought one and had no idea how to change the tip XD
Hey... just got myself a wood burning kit with simmilar parts.
Afther testing it out and later was changing the tip.. I noticed it was stuck. Any clue to why?
It had cooled off and no matter what the tip whould not budge at all.
I plugged it in again for a few seconds ds and afther it had heated up for a few seconds I grabbed a tool to grab onto the tip and was able to remove it.
What did I do wrong when it was cooled down???
Thank you so much! FYI, I think you’re neat and will most defy watch your channel. Cheers!
Thank you for this! I am still unable to take the tip off with pliers. I have tried a few different kinds. It is the tip it orginally came with, any ideas? Thank you so so much!
it is possible that the tip is not removeable. If it didn't come with other tips, then I may guess that it is not actually removeable. if it did, I would give it another go
thank you , thank you - I just got mine and couldnt get nib off and didnt want to risk breaking it so thank you..for this video....
absolutely!
Thanks
Can I change a sodering iron type screw tip to a two prong style tip or vice versa? I have both and would like my two prong style tip to the screw in kind for the many different style tips the screw kinds offer
It would depend on the specific wood burners you have. I'm not sure I can answer this compatibility question, as there are so many different burners available now that simply weren't around the few years ago when I was making these videos.
damn just figured out i bought the wrong kind of tip for my pen/iron 😭 thank u though i would’ve been so confused haha
no worries!
Mine is the soldering iron type, but the tip is fixed. I've had it for like 30 years, so who knows. It does have some external threads though, so I guess you could put another tip over the regular one. I probably had more tips at some point, but god knows what happened to them.
What if it's hot and you want to change it to a different style bit white working?
How long does it stay hot? How do you change it quickly?
Thank you for this. So what do you do if the bottom of a tip does break off. What do you do?
dont plug it in
If you can get the bit with a pair of pliers you can. make sure its cool. if you cant. you might be able to drill out the bit and use an easy out tap. if not. another wood burner might be cheaper
Is there a way to get the broken tip out?
Dylan's DIY Workshop Thank you! I’m a newbie at this. I am learning from your other videos as well!
Hi, can I use a soldering iron type wood burner as a soldering iron or is there any problem?
might be too hot and boil the solder. ive done it before. somewhat unsuccessfully
@@DylansDIYWorkshop Okay, thank you for the answer
Okay so what’s the plastic double hole thingy? Lol sorry I’m new and lost the instructions to my tool.
Is there such a thing as an adaptor for the soldering type? I bought a set of tips and they are a bit thinner than the ones that came with the set.
thats not something ive heard of before but Im sure it coupd be made with the right tools
Hi Dylan, The knife tip is stuck in my hotknife tool. It has replaceable tips. Is there a way to get the tip unstuck? Thank you.
make sure it has fully cooled down. and use a pair of good pliers to un thread it carefully. making sure to twist and not put any preassure in any other direction. to reduce the risk of snapping it
What can you get the tip out if is broken inside? This is my second wood burning with the tip broken inside. I can’t get it out :(
I just got the Foxgor wood burning kit and cannot figure out how to set up the stand for holding it while is hot. The instructions are iffy at best and don't mention how. It's a black plate with 2 screw holes and a short of spring that attaches somehow but if doesn't seem to work, just flops. Anyone have a clue??
How do you attach a hot knife? Whenever I put the chuck and blade on it just falls off without making a connection to the tool.
For 1st tool...how do u change it when it's hot, mine snapped like you said when I used pliers.
you have to let it cool down first
Any clues changing IntlMate tips? Can't find a threaded area on tool
Ready to snap it with pliers . . .
if they have changeable tips then it should just be the end bit.
Does anyone knows how to get the broken tip out?
What do you do if you would burn or P start smoking from the inside
unplug it. and contact customer support from your instruction manual. or take it back to the store to exchange it
So I bought a wood burner from Walmart lol but I’m on my second one and it keeps like bending making it hard to put on and off... is it because the kits are $20 and cheap?
possibly
My tip broke off on the inside, is there any way to fix this?
if its an expensive burner. look up broken bolt extraction tutorials. if its a cheap wood burner. my suggestion would be to get a new one
If the tip breaks in the middle... How can u take it out..
Can you plz make a video of drilling a broken tip
Id have to break a tip first. its not the easiest thing to drill out but I suppose Ill put it on my video list
Mine broke inside how do I get it out
Dylan the burning machine you have isn't on Amazon :( where can I get it
which one are you looking for?
@@DylansDIYWorkshop Razertip :(
oh :/ that sucks its not on there. if youre in canada you can buy it from lee valley. if not. google razertip pyrography. it should show up with their website somewhere
What if a piece is stuck inside how would you take it out
very small "easy out" broken bolt extractor
I replaced my tips and now it's suck on. What do I do?
My pieces keep coming loose while I’m in the middle of a project. Any advice??
while its cool tighten it down more
@@DylansDIYWorkshop thank you 😊
OK so how in the heck are you suppose to attach the knife and get it to stay in the barrel???
I cut my hand up then decided to look up a turorial
I'm not able to get the tip off at all.... It's stuck completely... And I got it brand new yesterday...smh .. pissed
Did it come with other tips?
@@DylansDIYWorkshop yessss... I just wasn't able to get it off.. I used pliers and still wasn't able to get it off.. it was like it was glued on..smh.. finally got it off but the tip is ruined.. pissed me off
@@DylansDIYWorkshop how do you clean your tips?? I have a cigar box that I wanna use my tool on.. should I send it first???
Cheryl Rodriguez same
@@cherylrodriguez8579 How did you get the tip off? At this point I dont mind if I break the tip LOL!
Nice meme

This is not the video they when to see ,They would like to see the video making or building your own tip or( solder your own Colwood tip )
I bought a new one...it doesn't want to come out :^)
Does it have other tips?
Thanks
no probem
So what do you do when you purchase a wood burning kit, but have no way to use all those attachments, as mine doesnt unscrew like that?
if it came with the attachments, I would assume it can unscrew. maybe give it another go
