    Thanks Dylan. Mine came with no instructions. I swear they used cement on the threads with the tip that was already in there. So annoying.

    Hey... just got myself a wood burning kit with simmilar parts.
    Afther testing it out and later was changing the tip.. I noticed it was stuck. Any clue to why?
    It had cooled off and no matter what the tip whould not budge at all.
    I plugged it in again for a few seconds ds and afther it had heated up for a few seconds I grabbed a tool to grab onto the tip and was able to remove it.
    What did I do wrong when it was cooled down???

    • @DylansDIYWorkshop
      @DylansDIYWorkshop  3 роки тому

      it is possible that the tip is not removeable. If it didn't come with other tips, then I may guess that it is not actually removeable. if it did, I would give it another go

    Can I change a sodering iron type screw tip to a two prong style tip or vice versa? I have both and would like my two prong style tip to the screw in kind for the many different style tips the screw kinds offer

    • @DylansDIYWorkshop
      @DylansDIYWorkshop  2 роки тому

      It would depend on the specific wood burners you have. I'm not sure I can answer this compatibility question, as there are so many different burners available now that simply weren't around the few years ago when I was making these videos.

    Mine is the soldering iron type, but the tip is fixed. I've had it for like 30 years, so who knows. It does have some external threads though, so I guess you could put another tip over the regular one. I probably had more tips at some point, but god knows what happened to them.

      make sure it has fully cooled down. and use a pair of good pliers to un thread it carefully. making sure to twist and not put any preassure in any other direction. to reduce the risk of snapping it

    I just got the Foxgor wood burning kit and cannot figure out how to set up the stand for holding it while is hot. The instructions are iffy at best and don't mention how. It's a black plate with 2 screw holes and a short of spring that attaches somehow but if doesn't seem to work, just flops. Anyone have a clue??
