For some reason when I tighten mine the blade is still loose
Aww. You didn't show how to get the tip screwed in tight. I can't get mine tight enough to stay in the tool. When I use my pliers to tighten that surrounding piece, it just spins.
hi heather, the middle post is a simple split post, and the collar is just a collar, the way to tighten it is screw the middle post firmly in so the collar pushes the split together and pinches the blade base.
@@TheLearningDroidThanks for getting back to me. Yes. I tried several times, but I can't get a grip on the split post with the collar in the way. I tried tightening by grabbing the knife but was afraid I'd bend or break it.
You didn’t show how to put the blade on?
Thank you for the videos. I just got my weller kit and I'm excited to make some ornaments for Christmas.
+Amanda Dunn Thank you for the kind comment, :D
Great videos. Thank you.
But how do I put the chuck in the burner? It doesn’t seem to catch whenever I try to screw into the tool.
Thank you so much for your wonderful video! I really appreciate your care and precautions!
I just have an urgent question. Did you say you can use the chuck with a hobby knife? ( example Xacto knife blade for replacement in the hot knife chuck whenever I need to replace my blade?)
Just wanted to make sure.
Thank you in advance!
I don't see any reason why not.
I wonder if that piece is meant to be heated up at all...
As far as I know it is, but as far as I know it's not meant to be used for pyrography. It is a hobbyist not a woodburning item, but I thought I'd do some pyro with it and have a look at it's pyroing. :D which is none exsistant.
I know this is an old vid but how do I put the blade in?? I just got my wood burner lol
hey leap. so with this one you screw the grip cylinder down and the bite block up, insert the blade and reverse the action. kind of like a drills chuck
Thank you so much! I’ve been struggling on this for a while
hi I have just bought one of these and I am struggling to get the blade on and to stay on
Hey Diz, all I can say is you need to slip the blade right the way in and then pull the collar down and rotate the collar till it locks. You might have a faulty craft knife collar.
the part to hold the knife in, I can't separate to actually put the knife in how do I seperate it?
Hey Abigail the knife comes in two parts that are fixed together, a post and collar, to insert the knife rotate and pull the collar down towards the screw thread. insert the knife fix into the split on the post and then rotate and push the collar up to fix it in place.
I could not fit the knife into the slit.
the knife piece won't stay locked, it keeps falling off
Sorry to hear this your knife bit may be a bit damaged
Mine won't stay in right either. It doesn't fall out but it wiggles when I press down like its loose. It could be designed better.
seems allot of people do have an issue with that bit.
Great info but a little slow for my taste. I'm not trying to be mean, just some constructive criticism and tips cuz I'm open n honest.. N I'm impatient n just wanted to know what the piece was for and how to use it properly and after the few few minutes I was ready to look for another video then you said its purpose is for cutting certain materials so I kept watching then you went on about your Asthma , yes safety Is important but saying its made to cut certain materials but u recommended using a mask if you do, would have gotten the point across a lot faster. Then a demistration would be perfect n get more likes n veiws. Maybe rehearse what you're going to say, have what u need for the video ready to go so you don't knock over your table reaching and stay on topic. But thank you. I now know what the piece is for and how to use it now
thanks for the comment. As you can see the videos about 3 years old. Videos were new, and still are. I am just a hobby youtuber, and can't spent long periods of time perfecting the skills, though I feel I have improoved in the past 3 years. Spare time filming limits what can be filmed and the prep and planning, and inexperience at this point affected the video.
Thank you for your critique, and for watching.
got it, thanks
Also have a great filter if your exposed to the overuse of the word "Guys:...43 times in 7minutes 45 seconds, wow! I'm going to thumbs up because I can use it, not for woodburning bt for the Communications class I'm teaching. This video is a Drinking game in its self.
As said 500 times, old video. Nervous social tick. :) thanks for the critique but it has been received allot,
Because I'm a selfish piece of shit , I gave my beautiful Wife Kerri Lung Cancer with my cigarette smoking . She is the love of my life and I still miss Her to the point of crying almost every day , 2 years on . I didn't think it would hurt Her , I grew up with smoker's around me all of my life . Being a professional shooter culling Roos ferrel dogs and Razorbacks most of my life I didn't think . Now I have the rest of my lonely miserable life to think .
My knife blade wont stay in the holder and i dont see how it would be able to hold it
it's a standard twist tighten craft blade fixture, the split post screws downward and the collard pushes it tight because the underside is sloped
