    Appreciate you not using "and uh" , as many videos do. Very quick and concise, well done. Only critique, a lot of the electrical clips are very different in how they operate, slow down just a bit, and explain what is being squeezed or pried apart. The small electrical clips break easily if you twist or pry the wrong direction. Nice camera work also!

    Hi Dave...I have a 2013 Durango and I watched your video 5 times before plucking up the courage to change two burned out bulbs on one of the inner light assemblies. I took advantage to change the bulbs on the other side as well since they’re probably going to burn out soon as well. Incredibly, everything worked out perfectly and I didn’t break anything. I felt like a pro myself! Haha. Your video was very instructional and paid attention to all the details and made the whole experience smooth and effortless. Thanks.

    These videos are so dang helpful. I'm repairing some front right damage and right rear damage on my 2013 Durango. Luckily I was able to purchase the front right fender already painted. So the rest is just replacing parts. But I get impatient with all the tabs. 🤣 And my mechanic brother is too busy with all his side projects to lend me a hand. I'll be watching this video again for sure. LOL

    Started to do this for my 2012, but after watching your video I think I’ll buy a trim stick and try again. Very informative! Also, Dodge isn’t alone in the “difficult to access” department, other makes have same/similar issues. Thank You.

    I just changed out the inner drivers side assembly, I cracked it backing into the Chief of Police's mailbox dropping off my daughter friend. Oh boy, anyway I have a 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee and used this as a reference. The holders/clips weren't in the exact place. and the inside 10 mm nuts/bolts were both on the inner side, but it worked. It took me 45 minutes to put the back panel back on. Thanks for the assist.

      Ouch.....certainly the wrong mail box to back into. I do see some changes from year to year. The service info makes it hard to isolate exactly what years are exactly the same as far as procedures. Glad it all went well and no one ended up in handcuffs lol. Thanks and make sure to subscribe

    Thanks for this video! I have one bulb out on each side. As well as different ones. So, for one I will have to take the assembly out completely. This has to be the most complicated bulb change procedure I've ever seen. Dodge couldn't do better than this? I love this vehicle, but wow. Oh well, I have to do it! Thanks again.

    Dave, thanks so much for the video, couldn't have changed out the bulb on my 2013 without this, I would have never known how to get access to it. The trim clips are an absolute nightmare to pop off, I actually cracked the panel. Just wanted to give others a heads up: Be careful, they are REALLY tight, even using a trim stick trying to pop them. Dave makes it look easy, he's a pro and I guess I'm not (haha). Again, great video, Dave - Thanks!!

      Funny you should say that....I broke one of the handle cups on the bottom edge of the panel trying to get it off in the video....it got cut out and made it to my personal blooper reel. No excuse for this kind of hassle to change a light bulb. I stood in Auto Zone looking at the book, trying to find a bulb number for this endeavor to no avail. Said “multi” replacements. Then I decided I’d just pop the assembly out real quick, get the number, and run after a bulb. A cursory look at the assembly told me I should watch a video first. Now I’m thinking I should order all LED replacements off Amazon, guessing at the number, and do all of them, one and only one time. Ridiculous. But, thanks for the video.

    So I'm assuming you do just as shown, and when you have the taillight assembly off, there's a couple of 10 mm bolts holding the lens on to the bulb assembly. Is that right? Thx

    Hello MotorCity, I really appreciate this clip. My rear right taillight assembly actually fills up with either water, or a mass amount of condensation to become filled with water over time. It's almost like a fishbowl. After I manage to change out the bulb, do you have any recommendations as to how to stop moisture from gathering inside?

    • @MotorCityMechanic
      @MotorCityMechanic  7 років тому

      The best repair is replacement of the tail lamp housing that getting water in it. A trick you can do to save a few bucks is to drill a small drain or two in the housing....obviously on the back side and in the lowest possible area so that you cant see it from the outside. It wont stop the water from getting in but it will give it a place to go and drain out so that it doesnt stay in side and then cause the bulb to fail again. Its something you can try or replace the housing. Thanks again for watching Kurt!

I know there are bulbs in the white/reverse light part of the assembly in the side section, but only 2 in the lift gate assemly that are actually in the red section? Hope this makes sense. Thanks.

    I have a 2013 GC overland with the powered liftgate.
    How can I open the liftgate manually in case if there is a problem and the liftgate cannot be opened by remote and by the handle and I want to replace the electric lifter or the air strut?
    Could you please make a video showing that because there is no video on the entire internet showing that till this moment.

    Thanks for this video; it's the best I've found on removing the lower trim panel on the liftgate. Unfortunately my lower trim panel broke (cracked many places) during removal. I found the replacement lower trim panel to order, but am wondering if you know how many of each retainer (68087885AA) and clip (68085677AA) I'd need for the new lower trim panel?? From the video, I'm guessing it's the green and yellow clips shown on the back of the trim panel... So I'm thinking 2 RETAINERs (green) and 6 CLIPs (yellow)?? Thanks again.

    Do you have a video for getting the Rear blower motor out of these? I have a 2011. Seems like almost no info online about the rear blowers.

    I know this is an old video, but why not. Where is a reasonable place to buy this inner tail light assembly? For some reason I’ve found several for the drivers side, but need one for the passenger.

    • @MotorCityMechanic
      @MotorCityMechanic  7 років тому +1

      The tools used are plastic trim sticks. They sale them at all the local auto parts stores and places like Harbor Freight as well. The trim panel is held on tight to be prepared to fight with it a bit to get it loose. Thanks for the question and for watching.

    Hey greatness...I did that because the lens itself was cracked...so I had to have a new one. but the lights are not working so I am thinking its a fuse. Can you tell me what that fuse would be named? I was looking at the diagram but can't find one labeled where it makes sense. Thanks

    • @MotorCityMechanic

      Sounds like a possible latch issue. The rear cover will need to be removed the best that you can to try and access the latch to see if anything obvious. Thats not always an easy thing to do. Some have an access panel while others you almost have to damage the rear cover inside to get it off being that the liftgate wont open. Sometimes we can try to override it with the scanners we have....other times not. Thanks for asking and make sure to subscribe.

    Hey guys I’m woundering if you can help me? I’m looking for the cool led tail lights that go from one side of the tailgate to the other side. I live in Australia and no knows what I’m talking about. But I see in a few movies I ve seen these dodge SUV’s with full led lights and they look very cool to the std lights. I hope you can help me find some. Thanks Patt.

      On the Jeep you only need to remove the lower rear hatch interior trim panel. You can then reach inside and access the bulb socket. Hope this helps. Make sure to subscribe when you get time if you havent already.
