    You showcase great techniques and never fail to amaze. I actually do like the quick pace, it's more about getting inspired than anything else really.

    Your intro about never using the point file in hit home, I remember in my first few months using TD learning about this operator, but I still have not used it in a single project. Thanks for another A* 10 out of 10 tutorial.

      Thanks! You can go with SOP to CHOP and then do the CHOP to TOP that will give you sorta the same result.

    Only thought of the .ply files for capturing point clouds with Lidar. Cool effect! Could you just import the mesh or use SOPs to get same effect?

    • @noonesimg
      @noonesimg  3 роки тому +1

      For sure! you can convert to CHOP and then to TOP, although, depending on your vertex count, you can experience a significant fps drop

    hey noones, thanks for the simple tutorial! however i run into the same problem over and over again. when i load in my .ply file and view it as points, all i get is black screen with no content. Do you know what i do wrong? I'd really appreciate some help. cheers

    • @noonesimg
      @noonesimg  4 роки тому

      Whoa, that's unusual. Maybe, something is wrong with your ply file. When you add a point file in top, there should be a default sphere loaded, try to view it as points. Also, try to import the same .ply back to blender to see if you file valid. But even if your file is empty you should be able to see the grid, not just black screen.

    • @Mo-dy9ml
      @Mo-dy9ml 4 роки тому

      @@noonesimg damn, the file should be ok i doubled checked it, i even downloaded other examples of plys , yet it sill doesn't work. i even have the latest version.
      bummer, because i need it for a vr projection in uni. nevertheless thank you so much for the reply

    • @noonesimg
      @noonesimg  4 роки тому

      That's weird man! Can you do the "view as points" without loading an external file? I mean, if you add a point file in TOP, there should be a default sphere loaded.
      maybe try to post this problem with screenshots and example .toe on the forum.derivative.ca/ , there's a Bugs section. Maybe someone from derivative team will be able to help

    • @Mo-dy9ml

      @@noonesimg no unfortunatley not, just an empty space. i came to the conclusion that it might have to do with my ryzen graphicscard which doenst have the cuda programming language. had some problems before with the likes of reality capture and similar because of that. i guess nvidia is the way to go..

    • @borjonx
      @borjonx 4 роки тому

      @@Mo-dy9ml Can you do a screen record of your exact process? that might help us see an issue. For a start I just used basic Blender cube, monkeyHead & sphere w/no subdivide; just to see the process work. Now I'm going to grab my Kinect.
