Generate shapes from an image with TouchDesigner

- In this video, I used an image from touchdesigner assets, made some processes on it, and made the geometry with extrude SOP. Then I used some noise TOPs to make the movements.

can we get colors onto the lines from an image? I cant find any info on how to get these lines colored from a texture.
I'm not sure if I understand your question. I think you can use you image and composite it with the lines with multiply operation. Please let me know if you are looking for something else.
@@yourtenderworld The image we use in your example is black and white, lets say it was multi-colored squares. can we get the lines to be the same colors? All that is available is near/far color. I know in a pointcloud its possible but not sure about how to do it here.
use the colored image you want instead of the black and white squares. after the processes, add composite and add the original image. by doing this you will have this effect on the image with original colors.
Try creating a 'constant' MAT and dragging that colour onto you geo instead of 'line' MAT.
@@sameenahhoque Hi thanks. yeah I found some discussion like this on the forums but as far as I can get it to work this just results in solid shapes, the lines disappear. If I drop color constant into geo color the wireframe is no longer getting used. Is that what you mean? or different input?
Edit; ok! I duplicated the geo, one with color the other wireframe and coped that, got it! thx!
so rad. i'm gonna follow this tutorial after work today.
Thanks for the tutorial, I'm having some problems with fps. Is there any way to handle it?
You can discuss them here or in the TenderWorld Discord channel. There we can have conversations. Link is in the channel info. Thanks for attention
But how did you put the circles in the lines? Amazing tutorial btw.
Thank you very much.
And bloom it's not working :c don't know why
For circles, go to material, "dot" tab and turn it on and increase the size. And for the bloom decrease black level and see if the problem solve. Thank you for your attention ❤️
@@yourtenderworld Thank you! It worked :)
Huh for some reason adjusting line width at 2:42 like you do doesn't seem to do anything :(
You have to set far and near distances parameters above the width.
@@yourtenderworld ty. turns out I just had to press play to force cook everything to see the effect take place
Hello , thank you for this video!
I have one question, how did you drag the line MAP on 2:10 so that it shows the Parm:Maerial option? Are you pressing any key while dragging it?
nevermind, i was not dragging it to the correct module :D thanks again
So you fixed it now. It happens sometimes! Thank you for being here ❤️
Lovely thanks!
5:26 for some reason i cant get this code to work, how do i fix this?
Can you describe your problem? I have some guesses like you didn't rename chop channels or didn't change the type of data format. Also consider the chop noise parameters. Thank you.
@@yourtenderworld lol i just typed it in wrong
