Thank you for putting Simon in his place. I've been biting my tongue with him, but only for my respect for his part in the show. I think it beholden to older mature people not to simply bend to trends, that to me is just 'giving up', he should be adding his voice in descent rather than appeasing to 'be down with the kids'. Just because society has denegrated does not for good change make! We shouldn't be swilling around in the mud simply because it's considered 'the done thing'. Hell NO. Shameful, really. Betrayal.

I have of course pre-ordered the Season 7 Collection boxset and for me I have enjoyed the animations even though I acknowledge there are potential issues with these reimaginings if you look hard enough. So I have done my usual order and pre-ordered 2 x Steelbooks, 1 x Bluray and 1 x DVD of the latest animation 'The Savages'.

"Negativity" - PAH! If that fool wants to know what 'negativity' is, I have over 800 screenshots of the abuse I've received over the years. These people live in a cloud.

I felt that the colourisation and abridgement were admirably undertaken, with the essence of this excellent story being as well-retained as possible. However, I completely agree that the attempt to needlessly incorporate the Master, and the references to new era Doctors, were nothing other than a calculated, ego-fuelled insult to fans; a wilfully squandered opportunity to pay homage to the original work.
Many thanks, JT, George, Ian, Emilio, and Paul, for so typically putting the world of Doctor Who to rights. All the best for now.
    Paul

@Simon Anthony - I saw some of your comments in the chat. Unfortunately they seemed a bit too long for me to read fully, so I edited them down for A Modern Comment's Section.
So I believe (updated to A Modern Comment's Section of course) that you have said as a direct quote "I've not been following these shows"
Oh. So... and correct me if I am wrong cause I did update you comment for A Modern Comment's Section, but even you aren't watching this current rubbish?
Which reinforces our point. No one is watching this cause despite what the Left Leaning BBC, RTD and Ncuti think, we don't HAVE to watch this. This is the failure in thinking that is causing the problems. These people think a fandom is controlled from the Top Down and that if they piss in our pocket we will tell them it is raining out of fear of being kicked out of the fandom.
This is the collective mind set of the Left. They fear being kicked out of the collective because being part of the collective and on the right side of history is the greatest thing ever. It proves they were CORRECT about everything cause everyone around them either agrees as well or is clearly a BIGOT and can be ignored. To be kicked out of this happy family is a horrible thing! OMG! RTD has blocked me on Twit! Whatever shall I do!?
The problem is that fandoms exist from the bottom up. It is not "Hey, I want to get into this, what episodes do I need to like to get my merit badge?". It is "Hey, I like this show... and... You like it too? Cool? My favourite was Tom Baker!" and then you have a long chat about how Daleks still give you nightmares.
You do NOT need a show to exist to be a fan of it. I am a fan of The Prisoner and The Avengers. Neither of them still produce episodes and I never watched when they tried to reboot the Prisoner about 10 years ago. Still a fan of Number 6.
Do we own the show loyalty? Maybe. But that is a two way street. We, as individuals, need to be convinced any single episode is good. Or mid. Or utter shite. Being a fan does not mean running around with a 10/10 stamp branding each new release in order to impress the ubrefuhrer.
Sorry, Simon, but if the show is still so amazing how come no one is watching it? Is it that millions of viewers are hanging out in YT comment sections first, desperately waiting to be told to put either 1 or 2 out of ten in our feedback forms?
Sorry mate, the show is rubbish, no one is watching it and even their own shill reviewers are clutching to find nice things to say. If you disagree invite some of your IRL mates around to watch a few episodes and after the first two ask if they want to kick on or not. Only you and the quality of the episodes can change their minds!

The BBC's approach to Doctor Who in recent years is killing (or has killed) a huge section of a once-vast fan-base. As an old wrinkly and card-paying member of the great disenfranchised, I will observe that they have potentially killed off a great potential market. Given time, EVERYTHING will be colourized - monochrome film & TV, monochrome comics, everything. The reward-to-cost/effort ratio of re-selling the same old thing to the same old audience is a no-brainer. That same old audience has bought everythinng on Betamax, VHS, DVD, Blu-Ray, Special Editions, you name it. The problems for the BBC are that (1) that same old audience is not getting any younger and (2) most of us have given up on the series due to how it has been dealt with in recent years. It is still not too late - but with Disney's influence and certain current societal sensibilities being prosecuted by the production team, it could well be.If the BBC wants to realise tht market, they need to colourize but leave everything else well alone. Because that's infinitely better.

I genuinely think it is too late. The show is dead in the UK. Nice to see you Throgmoyd!

Ben 'Don't Run With Scissors' Cook is an AR*E. I'm totally with you, JT. I couldn't deal with it. The editing was pure butchery, the additional material self-indulgent narcissism, and the music was totally incongruous and grating, especially with the Murray Gold 'Master theme'. Utterly shameful.

Well done JT (and team) for articulating what a lot of us older fans feel about the butchering of classic Who. Having been very disappointed with the colourised 'Daleks' story I will not be bothering to buy any copies of this latest abomination. You have to hit them where it hurts, in their wallets, so NO money from me.

I’m 6 minutes in on the replay and I’m already seething. This is cultural vandalism pure and simple. The original War Games is a very important classic. It rattles along at a great pace, with characters given depth and believable motivations. It’s as if an over enthusiastic teen fanboy was given free rein to massacre an epic tale. RTD, go home and leave our show alone, y’pillock.

Final comment from me, I said during the live show that I used to be of the opinion that any Who was better than no Who but I realise now just how wrong that view is. This latest assault on Classic Who and the garbage that is Disney Who demonstrates that the people currently running the show have completely lost the plot and no longer (if they ever did!) understand what Doctor Who should be about. As much as it pains me to say the show needs to be cancelled, rested and then rebooted in a few years time. My only fear is that having survived one cancellation there would be no way back from another.

Subscribed to your channel while watching The War Games Live Stream last night. Comments on this once great programme mirroring many of my thoughts. It’s like finding some sanity in all this nonsense. Looking forward to season 7 review. I recommend watching War Games (full version) and Spearhead From Space as a double bill , it’s just the best

I've seen hundreds of comments over the past few weeks on the war chief being the master all along, to those people I say how can he be, when character hadn't even been created yet!?!?
3/10 I liked the colour and I actually liked the model shot even though they did show it too often, I have a big love for practical effects so when I get to see them I cheer, even if they don't look the best.

Another wonderful show gentlemen. I recently watched "The Mind Robber" and "Enemy of the World", both were brilliant stories, and being in black & white just added to the whole atmosphere. I will not watch WGIC, I am particularly fond of the Troughton era, and I have no interest in this butchered mockery...sorry that you endured it for this show. On a more humorous note, here in America I watched both the Tom Baker and Peter Davison eras on a black & white television set...good times.

MIND ROBBER is the one to colour but they could do it wizard of oz style with first ep in black and white and then colour when they get to the land of fiction. just don't add new music, that ruins it if they tamper with vintage doctor who too much.
