The Budokan is a martial arts arena built for the 1964 Olympics, now also as you mentioned the most prestigious venue for concerts (like Carnegie Hall, Madison Square Garden levels of prestige) and the place all Japanese and many foreign artists aspire to play - and only a minority ever get there. BABYMETAL are the youngest average age female band ever to headline the Budokan - they sold it out 2 nights running. Su was 16, Yui and Moa still only 14. They were back in 2021 with 10 concerts celebrating their 10th anniversary. It was Wembley Arena they played in 2016, not the Stadium (that is next door). The Stadium holds something like 80-100k people, the Arena is about 11k ... but the Arena is no small deal and they were the first Japanese band ever to headline there (it should have been X Japan not long before but they had to cancel because of illness I think).
Legend S might be their best ever concert, despite the absence of Yui. The set design was legendary. Moa was VERY practiced and had to do some solo songs. Su, at her hometown, was on another plane of existence that night.
Yui's ultimate decision not to perform was indeed finalized at the last minute, with Su/Moa practicing both 2-person and 3-person versions until the day before the Legend S show!
Very much enjoying this journey through the Guide. Though the cuts can be jarring. Budokan Arena has become a legendary concert venue. However it was originally built for the 1964 Olympic Games and again was used in the 2020 Olympic games. The surround the stage seating proves ideal for both sports-judo, wrestling, sumo ect. and concerts.
I think now you are beginning to understand the love that the old fans fell for Yui.She will be forever a part of Babymetal. Momo is not there to replace Yui, she is the new member 🤘🦊
As the guide later points out, Su and Moa ended the old BABYMETAL and reformed it. PIA Arena 2023 will be the last time Yui will ever be referenced as ever being apart of BM.
Yui is still on AMUSE's list of managed artists but is a complete mystery otherwise. No photos, no news, no sightings, nada. We all hope she is living her best life! Kitsune dao!
I have huge respect for Dragon Force for basically telling Download to take a hike. I heard Lady Gaga was really helpful for them in the beginning, too! ❤❤
Western arenas are designed to amplify the audience to create an atmosphere for sports events. Sadly this is exactly the acoustics you don't want for a concert. Here in Cologne the old football (soccer) stadium was OK for concerts, the new one they built about 20 years ago is crap. Even the indoor arena in Cologne (Lanxess Arena) with a capacity of 18.000 to 20.000 is not very good for concerts, too much echo from the grandstands. This was the venue I first saw Babymetal when they supported Sabaton last year. Their headliner show half a year later was in a smaller venue (about 4.000 capacity) and it sounded far better.
As much as some people (including the dude who created the guide) in the fanbase want others to forget Yui and her unimaginable contribution to the band and it's success, the true fans will never forget about Yui and will be forever thankful for her gigantic contribution. Maybe 30 fans worldwide are being idiotic about it, but that's not representing the majority of the people who miss Yui dearly. I'm sure Yui is smart enough to take that laid-back continued support as a compliment. And she should. Wherever she is, I hope she's happy and I hope people continue to show her that she's not forgotten :)
No true Fan of Babymetal would ever forget about Yui. She was a crucial Part in Babymetals Sucess and will forever be remembered as our Angel of Dance or the Tomato-Princess. Im glad tho the Majority of the Fanbase accepted Momo as Yui`s Successor.
When I saw that show the first time I was FLOORED by In the name of. . . . then when IDZ started with no Yui . . .I was sssooooo sad. . . . That show runs the gambit of emotions . . .
The ladies are incredibly humble. Everyone who has worked with them has nothing but positive things to say. Remember too that when they tour the US they play night after night in regular clubs and auditoriums. 1500 to 8000 people. No stadiums, no arenas. For instance on their last US tour they played the Lot at the Complex in Salt Lake. A small kind of crappy outdoor venue. Yet at every show they give it everything and are smiling and full of energy. Check out their “5 favorite foods” interview on the Metal Hammer UA-cam channel. We know absolutely nothing about Yui after Babymetal. It is almost certain however that she has no active role in the group.
Babymetal still hold the record as the youngest female act ever to headline a show at Budokan. It's a pretty amazing venue for live shows. The actual venue is octagonal; it was built for the martial arts events for the 1964 Tokyo Olympics. I've actually been to the Budokan and it's in the park very close to the Imperial Palace, so you have to walk through all these gardens to get to it. The performance at Sonisphere 2014 was one of the most pivotal of their career. It put them on the map in the west as being more than a gimmick. The live performance of Ijime Dame Zettai that you've already watched was filmed at that show.
Karate LIVE at 2016 Download Festival in the UK 60,000+ British metal heads sing along with the girls. The girls are humble. So many bands artists and stage crews attest to their high character and humility.
The sound and staging is amazing but the big thing is that the Budokan is considered a culturally significant emblem for the Japanese people. A band cannot simply play The Budokan you have to be invited to play, so you have to be considered important enough to play there, and it's a great honor, especially to Japanese bands.
Judas Priest and Babymetal is definitely a nice video to checkout.... Even though the sound and camera work kinda sucks...But the girls, Rob and the Kamiband were having the time of their life on that stage.... Another vid you should definitely checkout is Babymetal with Chad from Red Hot Chili Peppers.... It's mostly fancams of that concert, but the ending is well worth the watch. 😁😁😁🤘🦊🤘
I'm thoroughly enjoying watching this as a multi part video rather than all at once, consider if you find it interesting doing something similar but for a full live concert?

The very first band that planned the show in this stadium was the Beatles and that makes the place honorable for all bands or singers.
One thing I love about Babymetal is how humble they all are. Always down to earth and appreciative of the fans. Love it!

I'm sure the last thing Yui wanted was to disappoint Su in her home town on her Birthday. :( Very sad time for all of them.
The audience at Legend-S sang Yui's parts

Dragon force is one that really supports Babymetal, when promoters don't schedule Babymetal, They still perform Babymetal with them on stage🤘😄

That's a myth perpetuated by some media outlet. The youngest female act was Sayuri Iwai.
The part about Su trolling Moa was due to Moa laughing when Su took a tumble earlier.
Some fans says that Yui is involved with Metalverse... I personally believe that she actually is... May be Metalverse is her project.
