the reason why you are having so much lag when the haybots are raiding your farm is because of all of the bot arms you put everywhere. They count as an entity and they are collectable items at the same time so they add a lot of lag. If you stop stacking them in front of the farm, you shouldn't have lag issues anymore. Hope this was helpful! (like for him to see) -edit : I don't know if the greenies head are considered the same way by the game but you should try taking them off your farm.
Nah, the Totebot heads are real blocks, if they wouldnt be a block and a collectable entity instead then they would have that glow effect like the unrefined resources have and you wont be able to pick up your build when you have them on
Well, apparently this info is wrong. So just read some of the replies. “It’s not that the other spud gun does less damage it’s just has a lower accuracy so you are doing less headshots that give critical damage Scrapman (like to help Scrapman)”
Well, I’m no expert on the game and haven’t played it before so I don’t know the specifics. I might do some more research. Also there is a probability that not all the spuds hit the bots.
If I'm not mistaken, when a bot gets hit, whether it be with a spud or a hammer, it gets stunned. This means that the purpose of the Spudling Gun could be to keep the bots at bay so that they can't move towards you. That way, you can fire at the red bot and it won't be able to move toward you, and even though it will take twice the ammo, it will keep him at bay, resulting in less damage to you and the crops. Edit: there was a patch that fixed the broccoli giving you tomatoes.
If there's some strange bots, in your farming field, who you gonna call? BOT BUSTERS! If the bots look weird, and your ammo's low, who you gonna call? BOT BUSTERS!
This series is the best thing ive ever watched! You could try building a second farming plot with independent watering and boost your water intake system as well. Another idea is an automatic harvester
didnt the spuds them selfs get nerfed like like the amunition i thought the spudgun got nerfed so can. you recheck how many spuds it takes to kill a hay bot can u test
To be fair though, despite its inaccuracy and lowered damage per spud, the spudling gun still outputs a higher dps than the spud gun at medium to close range. Sure, they hit less often and deal less damage, but more of them hit in the same period of time. The spud gun is still best at long range (e.g. killing tapebots), but don't just dismiss the spudling gun outright.
There is a glitch that allows for the Spudgun to have basically the same (and maybe even higher) fire rate as the Spud Gattler, which makes the Spud Gattler useless, because it uses the same amount of ammo and does less damage. Axolot has to fix the glitch AND reduce ammo usage for the Spud Gattler for me to start using it, because as of right now it is VERY inefficent
@@Hlebuw3k Reducing the ammo usage of the spud gattler will also reduce the dps, since the amount of shots directly correlates to the amount of ammo used. This would then make it pretty much a moot point. So the only problem I really see is that people prefer to be reliant on a glitch in the game that is no doubt going to be removed in the future. Also, I'm pretty certain that the main use of the gattlre is as an anti-boss weapon, since the boss's body is so large it wouldn't miss as much, but people seem to just be assuming that it's meant to be a direct upgrade and replacement of the normal spud gun, which neither new gun is.
@@nemasisdemarini8339 seems like you miss understood me. What i meant by "reducing ammo usage" is for it to only consume the ammo every second or third shot, while keeping the fire rate and damage the same, or buffing it aswell. Also, the normal spudgun can shot pretty fast on its own, so even with the buff, i fell like it would be pretty underpowered for its price and the work required to obtain it
on my survival world i have automatic piston crushers for my farm to defend it. i have level 5 pistons at maximum speed connected to sensors that push platforms into the farmbots. downside is the unreasonable amount of component kits you need. i put resource collectors on the back of the platforms the pistons push into the ground so haybot parts don't clog up the machine.

Epic backpack = Gardening motif. Water jug, purple spray nozzle drawing from water, almost as though you could (but not really) water and fertilize your crops at the same time. It'd be kinda neat if it worked, but not nearly as efficient as your sprinkler.
Hey ScrapMan! First, really happy with your success. You really deserve it! Thanks for the survival videos. It helped me a lot... like, you literally showed me how to play. I love the way you test your shits and guess what could be causing something. In my world, i lost myself and found an other mechanic shop. There is like 8 buildings less than 20 secs of walk. Also, the enemies were all (or almost) big bosses wandering arround the terrain. Saw 6 arround a small food stand. Keep the good work mah boy! :)
Standard Spud Gun is best for long-range damage and accurate shooting. Spudling Gun is best for rapid fire. Spud Shotgun is best for close-range damage.
@Scrapman I made a flatbed truck with a micro Mine car/Saw car. It has the steering suspension glitch and is tiny so it works amazing. Saw folds out from the back and drill is on the front. I went with the Train wheels from the warehouse gates (Pissed they took the controllers out? Boo) and made a platform that lifts it onto the truck. Amazing. It holds 8 refining crates also and doubles for veggies and caged farmers.
Some things to consider when making traps. Physics collision damage comes in three level, each doing a set fraction of the bot's hp. Small collisions do 1/20, medium 1/10 and large 1/4. Saws and drills spinning at an angular velocity of at least 3.5 will always cause a medium collision. The speed of a saw or drill only matters for damaging a harvestable, dealing damage equal to their angular velocity up to 50. Bots that are hit in the head with any level of collision are instantly killed. Bot can also be killed by crushing, which seems to kill the bot after a set amount of time being crushed. The bot's death marker AI will allow bots to figure out how to avoid traps so keep that in mind, though a work around for this is that bots don't consider collision when within 2 meter of a player so you can bait bots into your traps if they start avoiding them.
I think that the different tiers of cloths you wear give you like an armor boost. Also you could place a chest by your farm so you don't have to run back to the mechanic shop to put your crops away.
Attempt 2 Multiplayer Monday challenge, "Build your ideal survival car" in Scrap Mechanic, where you'll build your vehicle that can carry your helper bots in survival.
Currently the Craft-able bots from the mechanics station are non-accessible in survival, the same applies to everything carried over the shoulder, Including Vacuum-pipes. so creating a ‘Craft-bot’ in creative is just going to end up being a bunch of blocks that most likely are not the same weight as the bots themselves, The reason I bring this up is the harvest-collector. That is a essential part of my own vehicle in survival that cannot be replicated in creative.
@@fielddoktor4179 I know that the bots will be a bunch of blocks, but I'm still suggesting it because I based it on their current vehicles which might not be ideal once they need to pick a much better spot to use as a base and they could scrap their creation in creative to a much better purpose like cargo van or truck for the supplies they'll use to trade for the farmer and much better design of their harvesters for the rocks and wood.
the spudling gun does more DPS than the spud gun, when you tested you had it not fully spun up to make a distinct number of shots. It's faster shooting speed also helps. you do it in short bursts that's why it seems inferior.
SCRAP MAN, to defend your crops just put saws on an engines (to make them spin) and the the bots get scared so they don't get close amd then just shoot them. thats how i have my base and nothing gets near me. I haven't even raided a warehouse and i already have this kind of trap. its amazing.
Scrapman! Grow crops, then harvest them and don't plant again, that will reset the raid difficulty, and you should only get haybots and totebots, it worked for me, i've grown broccoli(and got tomatoes) and pineapples and never even seen a tapebot in a raid! Scrapman, The Haybots seem to leave the metal rods (Spines) of previous dead haybots, therefore I got the idea, to make a wall, and the inner structure / support of that wall, will be haybot spines/backs, and maybe you could do the same some time? I already saw you made a few barricades using those, but making an entire wall with those placed on the inside might be useful.
Idea for you :-D Make a vehicle that drives over-top of a stone mine, and drills down; collects on top, then retract the pistons on the wheels to drop the load down with pressure to drill and collect :-D You could have wheels with a few pistons that rotate down as the pistons extend in order to lift the vehicle high, then driver over a mine, and drill down :-D
You should put pistons on the other side of the water mechanisms it doesn’t dip and that’s why I think it’s missing because it’s offsetting and “throwing” the water sideways instead of straight down (like so scrap man can see thanks)
Try making an expanding square with 1 drill in every side, using pistons to make it expand and go over a mining node then it contracts while the drills are spinning and crushing the ore.
when you got the shirt with the different logo that you thought was evil I played it back in slow motion and it was on the wall of the mechanic station
TIP: if you have two farms in different areas, they only go after one. Meaning you can grow important crop in one and use the other for grinding/farming the bots for metal
the reason why you are having so much lag when the haybots are raiding your farm is because of all of the bot arms you put everywhere.
