Mainstream media is also liable for slander and for libel, which can cost them hundreds of millions of dollars, while Truth Social, X and FB for example are not. So, most of them do everything in their power to make sure what they publish is true.
What consumers of 'news' have unlearned to do is that channels like Fox or CNN, only have a miniscule portion of their broadcast as news. Not so many things happen in a 24 hour news cycle. So what they broadcast during most of the day is opinion.
Opinion is covered under the 1st amendment. But it doesn't have to be fact based.
So, in fact, when you choose 'news' outlets 'outside of Mainstream media', you're walking into echo chambers with a low veracity quotient.
News Corp, spreading its toxicity all over our nation.

To compare Biden to a king like Trump wants to be is crazy. The press is more focused on Bidens faults and leave Trump alone. So if he was a king he would force the press to focus on Trump, that is what kings do. So these accusations about Biden acting like a king is ludicrus.

If you're concerned about these issues, it's easy enough to make the complaint of both candidates.
This is why American outlets like WSJ have very little credibility.
It's like Americans can't talk politics without reverting to binary thinking and acting like you're in a hate group.
It may be the product of centuries of negative politics in a 2 party system.
It's also toxic, dysfunctional, and comes across as in bad faith and dishonest to those used to more respectable politics.
I'm in favor of multi party politics, and this is exactly why. You don't get away with it in most civilized countries.

MAGA, Republican, Libertarian, Democrat and Green. This would also help loosen gridlock in Congress.

I don't like Biden, plus his performance on the debate is even painful to watch. But the title of this opinion piece is absolutely absurd.
If Biden's presidial position resembles more that of a king today, it is only due to the sweetheart ruling trump got from SCOTUS.
Is Biden's staff defending him? Yes. That's their job.
Are there "intrigues" (meaning dissent) within the Democratic PARTY? Yes, but not in "court" or his "kingdom".
I'm tired of the cheap tactic of calling Biden with the same adjectives as crook or king, when they have been justifiably attributed to trump.
Is Biden senile? Absolutely 💯.

trump and the Republican party have exhausted every avenue to link Biden to his son's activities and there was nothing to even produce even one single charge against him.
On the other hand, trump's associates systematically have the bad habit of committing crimes across different companies and in public office. Crimes that clearly benefit trump.

trump was found guilty of 34 counts. We now have to wait for the new trials in Circuit Court to take place after SCOTUS has moved the goalposts on his favor.
That used to be true, but there is now wide reporting that Hunter has moved into Biden's inner circle. He and Jill were the two biggest voices pushing him to stay in the race when he met with his family, and now Hunter has started hanging around constantly, sitting in on official meetings and acting as a gatekeeper to his father. He presumably wants to make sure no one tells him bad news or tells him to drop out.
I’m still waiting to hear the media ask questions of Trump about his association with Jeffrey Epstein.
