Thanks for the video man. I plan on making one with the help from this video.
How did this ever work out for you for larger hides like deer?

I apologize for not responding sooner. Had to step away for a while to start another business. I'm glad you enjoyed the video. It works pretty good for deer hide, you just need to be careful on the edge of the board. I've tore one hide because of it. I adjusted the blade I made for scraping to work better for me. Hopefully I'll have a video on it sometime soon.

Old fashioned ironing boards can be easily turned into fleshing boards.
"Indiancraft" books, by W. Ben Hunt, has many great "how to" articles, as once performed by "native Americans".

I can see using an old ironing board. I'll have to look that book up. I love informational material books from the native American and pioneer era.

I have two books by this author. "The complete how-to book of Indiancraft" is very informational. "68 projects... from Tepee to Tom-tom" is stated on the cover. I've had my copy since 1978-79. The copyright of the original sources goes back to the late 30's and early 40's. Much of the information comes from interviews with the "old timers", as stated by the editor of this book. Most info is also in regards to woodcraft and leather skills, for survival, by said Indians. I'm sure if you can find a copy today, it would cost more than the $3.95 that I paid back then. 😅 Whatever the cost might be today, it would be well worth the price paid.
