@@AlFirous We need Wordpress to do these things natively without a page builder plugin, this will push page builders to be more creative and offer more features and fastens the pace of their feature updates since I noticed they slowed down the last years.

Looks like some really great changes for the WordPress platform. I particularly like the upgrades they've made with the block builder. In many cases this can eliminate the need to use a page builder - especially since many of those tend to slow down your site.

And I just found out that Kadence Blocks does not require the Kadence Theme. Another plus!

Well my questions were answered in the comments, so I just have two things: 1) My gaze kept wandering to the bobble head & I kept thinking, "That HAS to be Dr. Evil!" Very cool. 2) Is that a programmable keyboard to the left of your main keyboard? If so, what make & model? I have an X-keys XK-80 on my desk. Everyone should have a programmable keyboard, they are phenomenal time-savers!

A lot of nice improvements in Gutenberg ... but I think Elementor still is hands down the best option for page and website design. With Elementor Pro I have FULL control over the design of the theme. But Gutenberg is becoming a good alternative for someone just starting to learn a page builder syste.

    • @WPCrafter
      @WPCrafter  4 роки тому

Yes and that is never going to change, page builders like Elementor and Divi have become complex advanced design tools that can do just about anything. Sorta like Photoshop. The problem is most people only use 10% of what it does and if you are new to all this, its a bit overwhelming to learn how to use WordPress and this totally separate page builder.

@@WPCrafter that is so true ... the learning curve for these "simple" website development tools is getting steeper and steeper. But with Elementor ... especially with the upcoming 3.0 release ... you have a rool set that added to Wordpress allows a novice website owner to quickly build a beautiful site. And with the addition of plugins like Unlimited Elemrntir Plugins that as allows you to create your own widgets ... the capabilities of Elementor atr truly unlimited ... allowing the novice to grow into a true website expert without ever needing to use another tool.

Nobody has a site with those few plug-ins or images. All least install twice the plug-ins (woocommerce for instance), and put more images in the frontpage.

I could add 20, 30, 40 images, its not gonna change a darn thing. I did that to demonstrate that Gutenberg will always product a leaner coded, highly optimized website. This is not an opinion, its a fact. The biggest code snobs all agree. People that hate page builders because of performance all agree that Gutenberg code is very close to hand coding.

Adam.. Thank you for keeping us ahead of the curve. So awesome. I'm starting to work on a new site, and I find both Elementor and Thrive Architect frustrating in some key ways. In particular, it always feels like "pre-made sections" are an after thought. That's one thing I like about Kartra (not wordpress).. is that sections are not "teeny" and are not poorly/barely organized.
This looks like at least with Kadence, Sections will be more front row center and easy to work with to easily put together a site as logo. I.e. it will be easy to have "full page templates", "section templates" and "low level components" and work on a page at any of these levels of abstraction.

WordPress does not allow you to just select an active plugin and delete it. You have to deactivate it and then delete it which is super annoying. That would be a great fix too. Have you noticed it just does nothing when you tell the plugin to delete while active?

That being said, I'm still not grooving with the whole Gutenberg block building. I just think the overall end-user experience has a great deal to go before being a major player in comparison to Elementor.
I have started using the Kadence theme more as it provides more freedom when using Elementor Pro. It’s a 93 and you are more then welcome to test it for yourself, but you will first need to take off your tin foil conspiracy hat.

Thanks for the great video. I'm new to all this and looks like Kadence is the way to go. However I intend to also use Toolset for dynamic content, custom fields etc... ( I found your video on their site). Can I use Toolset content and Blocks with Kadence? I haven't found much info on this and Kadence isn't listed as a compatible theme by Toolset

Oh yes you can :-). And I am going to start digging into Toolset myself to see about making a tutorial on it.

Can Kadence use the dynamic fields feature of Elementor Pro where you can inject custom post fields into content? Really need that.

Auto-updates are super cool. I wonder if they will have a feature to auto backup and add a delay to updates for at least 24 hours like MainWP.
Automatic replacement of plugins while uploading the new version is an awesome feature. I have been using a plugin that is super outdated and abandoned but still works. Glad to see I can get rid of it now. Although, I would like it if WordPress did not ask anything and just replaces it. There is no need for extra steps.
WordPress sitemap. The first thing I thought was plugin conflict with RankMath, lol.
I want to see Permalinks set as post name by default. One less thing to have to remember when setting up a new site.
I also want to see an add page button that is easily accessible so I can create all of the pages that I need in a quick way. Ideally, the solution would be to add another Plus sign on the top menu of the pages.
Global colours were just announced by Elementor. We will have to wait to see the full implementation and see how it compares.
The Kadence Menu is cool. It reminds me of the Flatsome Menu Builder.

When we get blog subscribers, where are their email addresses stored. I am helping a friend move away from FEED BURNER. Exported her subscriber list, but now I am unsure what to do with it. Her feed burner just stopped working. Thank you so much.

At 7.47 your mouse disappears into the top of the page regarding Sitemap, so I have no idea how to get to it and when I type in the URL at 7.49 I get page doesn't exist. Then it disappears again at 10.27.

Does anyone know if there is something for Gutenberg with which you could insert the same content on all posts? Like for example if you would want to have the same image/banner on all posts but dont want to change it on each post one by one when you decide to update/change the image.
