I'm a vegetarian but I really love to see you guys cook. I've been following you from quite a while and I really enjoy it. Love your Friday night specials.
You're gonna think this is weird. We are from the South. When we travel, we love eating local cuisine but start to miss home. When we get home we want country soul food. Soup beans, skillet cornbread, fried potatoes with onions and fresh iced tea... sometimes fried chicken or meatloaf too but not necessary. Fried cabbage with bacon, onions and garlic is nice with the beans too. That's our little taste of home, comfort at its best!
I need soup after traveling too! No matter where I go, I feel like my salt intake goes through the roof on food. I need simple, super almost unflavorful chicken soup and white rice when home🤍 Chuck’s mom’s unimpressed reaction sounds like mine when I call her excited to tell her I’m cooking her recipe. 🥲
Looks so good! Sinigang is a staple in our house too especially after long trips or a day out. Its perfect in summer or winter and you can add whatever veggies or protein you want. Super nutritious, Ultimate soup, ultimate comfort meal 🤤 sometimes I add a splash of coconut milk.
My mom has the same reaction whenever I change up a Filipino recipe 😂 The pepper, patis, lemon juice side sauce is GENIUS!! Definitely trying that next time I make sinigang 😊
Albondiga soup is a fave 🎉❤ for post travel, and a weeknight meal is a tomatoe/harisa paste whole roasted chicken with rice and a veggie (asparagus or zucchini).❤
My favorite Friday night peeps!!!! Well. Y’all are my favorite any day of the week lol 😆 As far as post travel meals - I’m not sure I have a specific one, although, when he asked that question it brought back a memory from when I was pregnant… my biggest cravings were pickles, watermelon, and Subway, and during my last “safe travel” week, we went to Cozumel for a week and stayed at a resort, ate wonderful food all week long, and we got off the plane and got to our car and I demanded that my husband drive straight to Subway 😂 he was like - “you just spent a week eating gourmet food and you want Subway?!?!?” Yes. Yes I do. Take me there now please. So he did. ❤ Funny enough, 3 of my son’s favorite things in the world to eat are pickles, watermelon, and Subway. 😅
I made crawfish etouffee for our Friday night eats. I love the look of your soup. Makes my insides all warm. Got to 80° this week in Southern Mississippi.
I always want a rice bowl after traveling! Hot rice, bell peppers, mushrooms and salmon mixed with peanut sauce and topped with cucumber and nori. My go-to weeknight meal right now is a creamy pesto pasta with chicken and veggies!
I usually order in as well after trips! I’m so impressed that y’all have it in you to cook something. But after I gather myself to the store I usually do a marinated chicken and pan of roasted veggies with spices and call it a day.
dang that sinigang looks bomb! the charred chili condiment is definitely something im stealing if you wanted to spruce it up even further, cooking it with pork ribs will contribute that bone broth flavor, and adding some gabi (taro? yucca? idk the english) chopped into chunks near the beginning would help thicken the soup and make it nice and rich 😋
Welcome home! Favorite meal after traveling? Honestly anything homemade. I love so many Filipino meals but the sinigang has always been too sour for me. Any tips? I’ve never made it on my own.
Sinigang is intentionally sour. BUT if it's too much for you, you can try to reduce the souring agent, so less sinigang mix/tamarind. FYI the sinigang mix is often just tamarind and flavouring spices (onion, garlic, tomato, meat flavor). You could also try a variation that uses more tomato instead of the tamarind the sourness isn't as tart. Adding more onion also sweetens a soup. Or add a little bit of sugar.
Chuck’s mom’s unimpressed reaction haha
😂😂😂
I know right 😂😂😂 I laughed so hard
our mamas don’t bite their tongues lol
Please never stop these Friday night cooks. I’ve never had an opportunity to try Filipino cuisine. This soup sure sounds tasty.
i don’t travel enough to have a favorite post-travel meal but eating spicy hotpot when you’re feeling lethargic hits the spot!
Yayyyy call to his mom!!!! Victory

Mushroom on sinigang? Im intrigued... Id try that
I like the Mamasita's too. Doesn't taste quite as good without it.
Where's the taro root?! Looks good, though!

Love these Friday night get togethers!
I love a good homemade burrito bowl during the week!🤤
I impulse bought the mandoline you guys suggested! Can't wait to use it.
I wish I could push up a chair and have a bowl or two. 😂😂😂
Me too, it looked so good.
Same!!! Not to mention the fab company! I love them so much!! ❤
Homemade cornbread and soup beans!
Why does whenever Chad take the camera, it looks like a toddler stole his mom’s phone???🤣🤣
That looks fucking delicious!!!!!! Loved this video and u guys are cute ❤
In my household we prefer Knorr Sinigang mix
when chuck’s mom mentioned the podcast, it was an important moment for him🥹
Top tier post travel meal is always pho, gotta get the tendon 👌
When I don’t know what to make for dinner I always go back to shepherds pie or chili, or just breakfast for dinner
I prefer my sinigang (pork) with the fat and skin. I like to dip it in some soy or fish sauce. Yum!
Pho after travelling alwags hits
Yall seem so easygoing. I bet yall have never had a serious disagreement or argument ever.
Let’s just focus on their cooking. Best not to make assumptions about their private relationship - which is not what they are offering to us.
Coming back home for me is a toasted English muffin with hogheads cheese, avocado and poach egg with (you guac to be kidding seasoning topping) 🤤🤤
I felt healthier just watching that
"oh....ok." 🤣
Homemade chicken noodle soup
I like a salad after a trip. I probably ate my face off while vacationing and I'll definitely need the fiber. 😂
you guys are both left-handed lol
What's your favorite place to eat out at?
It looks tasty
How do i cut the top and root off onions without the whole thing falling apart while making the rest of the cuts? Blegh!
Listen to ur mom!!! Dont change it
He looks Korean.
Pork is haram and filthy. Adhere to the teachings of Allah. Start away from filth that harms you
Chicken and dumplings. Something very hearty.
