Ricky Grover is a genius. An original thinker, polished performer and an immaculate improviser. He should be one of the biggest names in British entertainment.
I've been telling this to people for ages but they won't listen! x
@@bullaTV Gawd bless ya Bulla, you've always made me laugh when all there was darkness, a real gift upon which you wield happyness.
He’s the fat guy we wanted , but we got Corden .
Gotta agree he’s never risen (for some unknown reason ) to ranks of some comedic personalities that for me r far less talented
Funniest thing ive seen him do was fancy Heather trott
Bulla is back! How did I miss this? Remember watching this back in the day. I was in tears. Absolute genius.
I remember watching this when it first aired. It was so surreal that it had me in tears. The previous sketch I’d seen had Ricky’s creation with a pair of stockings over his face describing how he’d taken a prison officer hostage. Then there he was being interviewed by Michael Parkinson! . . . It’s a British comedy gem.
Such an underrated actor. Comedy timing is perfect. Need to see more of Ricky Grover’
This man is a real Gem lol
He did a black books episode!
Damn right, the guy's a legend.
Agreed. And orrible was a great series that was killed by the critics
@@gravyboat2370 I loved 'orrible. If it was on today it would probably be lauded.
“There are times in life when you have to bat and bowl”. Hilarious line 😂😂
Beautiful timing and impeccable deadpanning with that constant underlying threat that he could turn very nasty at any moment. Comedy gold!
This is amazing! Never seen this before! Excellent stuff. I remember Bulla from about 20 years ago and never saw him after that.
Absolutely brilliant, more of these please, Bulla!
I used to teach his daughter at college years ago. Met him on parents evening. Lovely bloke and very talented. Definately needs to be on film more
His mum lives a few doors away from me. Lovely lady.
Brilliant, I love the way he creased Parky up. 😅
Among his many talents, Ricky is a master of deadpan . . . I imagine you'd have to come up with something very special to make him laugh or break character.
This is so spot on. I've met loads of geezers like this.
I feel like I've been thinking about this interview for twenty years! Thank you for uploading it and reassuring me that I didn't dream it.
Aye, I remember searching for it and giving up years ago.
@@thepeckhampoet1909 Now I just have to locate the one where he says 'to me you're like family... but I'll still open you up like a tin of beans'...
I wonder if Ricky Grover realises quite how important he is to so many people. I hope so :)
Ricky's a good stand up comedian as well..this is great with Parkinson👍
@@kenpudsey6435 I don't know if i've actually seen any of his stand up! But it was always a treat when he popped up in anything... I seem to remember him playing a large part in Jo Brand's tv show... and wasn't he in Lock Stock? The man's a genius :)
@@MatONeill it might have been 'Live At The Appollo' where I saw him do 5/10 minute stand up routine..with other comedians on the show!
What a legend 😎
Comedy genius, loved the stuff with Jo Brand 🤪 showing my age now. 👍
There's twice in my life when I remember the most time I laughed so much I had stitches and was doubled over in pain but ecstacy with joy.
One was an old mate of mine, he was off his head and acting the fool but it was pure hysterical to me.
The other time was when I first saw this man on TV, he was doing a sketch on Joe Brand's comedy show, he ended up in a pond and fucked up his mobile phone.
I still laugh at this sketch to this day. It's etched in my happy place memories of great comedy moments.
This was early 90s when I was 20, I'm 51 now and it's still one of the funniest moments I've whitenssed in a sketch on TV.
What a talented man Ricky is😂.
Thanks for finding this I had forgotten how funny these two are perfect timing
So funny boy you make me laugh when I'm stuck indoors at a time like this keep them up 👌👍😂👊
"There's times in life when you have to bat & bowl.."...Hahaha 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Thank you that was wonderful
This had me in stitches. Michael's reaction makes it even funnier.
Well done parkie....great send up
Ricky Grover. Talented actor and comic. Loved him im 'Orrible - really underrated. Also did a good turn in "Getting On".
Was trying to think of the name of that show with Johnny Vaughan was fantastic
We don't see enough of ricky grover.......man's a legend
Ricky Grover is not a legend.
But he absolutely fkn should be!
Why is it I’ve never heard of this guy?
Absolutely hilarious 🤣🤣🤣👍👍
Ricky Grover, so underrated. I feel he always gets the graveyard shift on TV shows, never the spotlight he deserves.
And accent
Working class comedians get blocked at every level by the middle class metropolitan lovies that run the ents industry
@@SeanieVoiceOver you get the same middle class unfunny 'comedians' on the same panel shows (nobody does sitcoms in the UK anymore).. the only one half decent is Frankie Boyle, and he had to be buck broken before he got his slot.
No stick to the graveyard shift , ffs.😉🏴
@@SeanieVoiceOver Bob Hoskins spoke about this issue as he had to deal with the same.
Ladies and Gentlemen, for those not in the know, this is Ricky Grover. Funny as hell.
Jesus, I just watched this, and I thought it was real, then looked at the comments. Didn't realise it's comedy😂🤣Briliant!
I must've missed this! Even the cut-down version is hilarious, i want to see the entire interview.
Top man Ricky! He was tucked up during the BFGG film and was let down badly by the makers. He finished the film himself and made something out of it so he wouldn't let down the fellow actors. Always watchable is Ricky.......good on ya Son!
What's BFGG I've allways liked Mr Grover
@@robbates3106 Big Fat Gypsy Gangster, watchable but should’ve been great. Apparently Ricky was told that scenes were in the can and it was all going well but they lied leaving him with a mess! Amazing that he stitched anything together but he did! I remember listening to Rufus Hound talk about it and he absolutely loves Ricky for what he did
I love this guy.we don’t see enough of this fella.
I loved Ricky’s joke about his string vest. Never forgotten it.
Proper quality!!
This was a very interesting insight into the criminal mindset.
Never heard of the guy until now.
He’s funny and sharp
Same here 👍
Coz 'es got a sharp name, squire..😠
He's such a great performer ,he's great in whatever he does .
That's brilliant. Never heard of bulla before.
11 o clock show my man, check him out!
@Dekker Dog Ricky Grover
@Dekker Dog glad I could help, yeah I remember when he was in eastenders and also he is in an advert now with a beagle dog
I remember seeing this on the TV. Grover is hilarious. Cracking with Rickey Gervais in After Life.
Seen Ricky Grover live at Edinburgh Festival. Absolutely hilarious! 😂
Me too WHO'S THE GUVNOR?
Never seen this - hilarious. The scream after the Ronnie and Reggie bit got me.
First time I've seen this!? 'WAY BEFORE ITS TIME😅😂. A skit before there were skits on tv. Brilliant.
Ricky Grover is so underated this made me laugh up my lungs....
Danny Dyer has put on some of weight..
He’s so much better than Danny Dyer...
Danny Dyer's a mockney cant stand the idiot
"Put on some of weight"????? Wotchu-onabahsan?
Danny Dyer's a joke
@@John-ro1iv he lookin lyke a fat danny
Great interview Parky trying not to laugh 😂
This is pure gold! What a legend 😂
Not seen this before. Absolutely hilarious. Ricky Grover is brilliant, as always. Michael Parkinson plays a blinder here. He really goes for it and seems to having an absolute blast. When was this shown on TV and on what show? It can't have been on Michael Parkinson's actual chat show, surely.
If you closed your eyes you would think that was Ray Winston talking
Awesome stuff!!! ;)
Absolutely brilliant
Great guy already sorely missed, thanks Parky R.I.P
Didn't know he passed away ;
@@fezs9027Parky did Ricky hasn't
His Nan lived next door in Stratford, he was in the same class at primary/junior school as my younger brother, Done well for himself, very talented, does a good haircut as well.
Full of shit lol
Brilliant!
He was sweet to me in Parkhurst. Always went gentle. We invented the term 'bromance'. See you around Big Bulla Boy. I'll never forgetcha!
always went gentle 😂😂😂
I'd say Bulla done most of the batting! 😂
The man is a genius!! Super funny!!
Really?! You must be as bright as a damp match.
He's acting!! Well I think I'm a lot brighter than you to see the funny side!!! Lighten up yourself !!
A comedian that makes you actually laugh.
I remember this interview, they cut the laugh track though. :) Ricky mate, you always did make me laugh
No wonder Parky can't stop laughing. So funny.
Loved him as a pyscho fairy in the series "Zapped".
Thats a great show 👌
Lolz
Geezer with the Emu!
😂😂 my uncle was playing the spoons 😂
Went to see him at up the creek South Croydon many years ago was brilliant top top man , would love to see him again👍👍👍
Where in South Croydon was that?
@@zaprese .Hi there up the creek was just by the swan and sugarloaf pub which is now a Tesco express, up the creek is now an Indian restaurant on the Brighton road . Hope this helps
"You can't beat a bit of Bulla!" 🎯
You ain' wrong...😕
This was so good 😂😂😂😂
Bulla? Never heard of him! My loss apparently. Subscribed!
He has always made me laugh so much
I've got the Bulla movie on dvd Big fat Gypsy Ganster 🤣
Little known fact that 3 days after this Rod Hull "slipped" off his roof and died in mysterious circumstances. The Emu was last observed leaving the scene in a Caravan travelling towards The Appleby Gypsy Fair for its Annual Carnival.
Might be a co-incidence....we will never know..
Yes he swung by to pick up grotbags on route
I liked it, Mr Michael Parkinson liked it & Bulla liked it. Love things like this, makes most people laugh…. More is needed in 2023…..
I love this.
Brilliant! I can't stop laughing!
This is a parody/joke and Parky’s in on it! Bulla was Heather’s bloke in Eastenders and now does insurance adverts with a dog! 😄😂👍🏻
Knew it was him 😂👍
Big fat gypsy gangster
I thought that was big Heather's man 🤣🤣🤣
And he was in red dwarf
You dont say.....i thought it was real.
I remember the Bulla! I think he used to appear on some sort of show on a Saturday morning but I may be imagining that. I love the way he talks about himself in the third person (like a Cesare). Would love to see him live!
Lennox Lewis used to do the same thing.
Bulla started off on The 11 O'Clock Show on Channel 4 as did Ricky Gervais and Sacha Baron Cohen.
Love this……classic.
Michael Parkinson can’t stop laughing
He was heathers boyfriend in eastenders 😂
That’s where I know this guy from. Thank you, it was driving me nuts
Yes lol
Ricky groves or something?
The reason I stopped watching Eastenders - Heather, so annoying
She was bumped off years ago
It was 3:45am on a Saturday morning September 2023. If I hadn’t read the comments.
I would if still believed this was real 😅.
Most underrated actor in the country!!
Bloody brilliant
😂😂😂 Well handled Parky! 👍
Next thing we know, Rod's off the roof!
never thought of that. I think you may have something there
Are you being a graaaasss? 🤔
He was hen pecked in Peckham anyway poor bastard Bulla probably did him a favour.
Satellite dish my arse
Somebody told me Rods last words were “ roll another joint while I have a quick look at that aerial”
Loved Bulla, should have been on tv more.
That was so funny!!! No wonder the beagle looked like it was laughing
i don't care what anyone says, 'orrible was quality and sean orlov is one of the great comedy characters. still love watching the dvd. "it's like kris akabusi says"
The critics panned it before it came out ....but me and my mates thought it was genius
I thought I was the only one that loved that programme
I thought it was very good too, thank fck its not just me!
Geezers lost his legs and he phones in sick, what a fukin pro. Love orrible cracks me up every time.
Damn right!
Ricky lives in barnet, he’s a gentle loving teddy bear.
@@TheJimbojetset1 Perhaps he and his family have moved to pastures new? I once visited him in his home with a friend some years ago, in Barnet, North London.
Legend actor, original and funny 😆
Lol. Puts his glasses on and winks😎🤣👏
If you feed Danny Dyer 25 burgers a day for 14 days, you get Ricky.
That’s hilarious. 🤣
Dyer is a fake. He gives it all the hard guy stuff but it's all an act. There's NOTHING hard about Danny Dyer.
@@johnc3403 I only meant in looks...
@@johnc3403 he’s an actor! 🤦🏼♀️
Danny is getting that way anyway
Ricky Grover is one of the comedy greats. Love Bulla!
Just what I needed...bish. bosh. 👍
Top buzzer the grid!!!
He's not even the most dangerous man in the studio.
😂
I thought this fool was a criminal and had no problem taking it up the arse and telling everyone I said to myself what a loser but he's a comedian lol
I remember him on the 11 o’clock show
Brilliant,
I remember meeting you at the Comedy Club in Greenwich 20 years ago, you were ace 🍻
Real Genius stuff. Top top man Ricky Grover
There is more to this classic interview. There's a bit about Saddam Hussein which is classic...
😂😂😂 Absolutley hilarious
Who !
Never heard of this guy before, give him his own show, he's hilarious
He was great as a crim on Black Books and Red Dwarf.
Getting on ,check that out

I remember him in an episode of black books.Guy is awesome 😅
I have been looking for this for yonks.
I kept telling mates about it but they said I was bonkers in da nut with my imagination.
Brilliant x
Ricky Grover came to my drama class in Stratford in thr 90s. I taught him everything he knows. 😂
That's why he turned to comedy! 😢
He seemed such a lovely fellow when he was in black books.
Still looked dangerous to me, but Fran sorted him out.
Ahh now I remember him 😃
Hilarious !!! I didn't know he was an actor until I read the comments.
Dynamite used to love it when he pulled the screw out from under the bed🤣🤣🤣
He respects Parkinson, but then again I think he is a great comedian.
