Never get bored watching some of Antoine's features. Simply amazing footage. Captures the spirit and challenges that the sailors are facing. In our home comfort we can see in real time everything. Mind blowing.
That drone-footage is insane! How can he keep up? It gives you a glimpse at the power of the elements and how will this boat handles it. Changing sails several times? Crazy!
Remember when foiling was a gimmick, a ploy by TMNZ to get ahead of the America's Cup competition. Watching this my heart is pounding, I hardly dare to breath in, what an exciting spectacle and stunning drone footage. Then to think there are three other crews and boats and shore teams of this calibre competing and I feel so much better for the future of the earth. To think there are eight year olds all across the planet sailing today in moths et al, soon they will be foiling too and looking up to these crews as aspirational role models, YIPPEE!
Amazing shots of the boat foiling at upwards of 30 knots. What's so impressive is the reliability of this latest generation of boats - there have been few boat or equipment failures in this race. Respect to the crews also, driving the boats whilst cooped up inside - albeit nice and dry, it must reduce the experience of speed for them, given their reaction when watching their video!
Jus can’t stop watching the updates on the tracker 06:00 GMT. Melizia is 1.3nm ahead when an hour ago it 0.3nm. Melizia might struggle to keep ahead if she match races Holcim-PRB which is a boat better suited to Atlantic conditions. I have always rooted for Melizia, the team dynamic is infectious, best drone footage - well done. I am not sure what Melizia can do to shake off Holcim-PRB, they seem to be following Melizia’s every move. Tough decisions ahead. Everything crossed for Melizia to win this. Rosie - hope your head is feeling better….
The race commentator keeps saying the weather suits Malizia’s design. But surely it’s the other way round: Malizia has the right design for the conditions of the majority of the race.
I have often wondered what would happen if there was a time warp and boats like an Imoca, or an Ultime Tri, went back 250 years in time and crossed paths with James Cook etc, down in the low latitudes. Of cause it would be a fleeting apparition for Cook as they flew past...
Prior to the start of this Ocean Race, there was a remark from the the skipper of Biotherm referring Malizia as a floating caravan (being the bulkiest design with quirky aft cabin). Think some karma has stepped in 😂
it looks very awkward and clumsy compared to a beautiful Trimaran like Maxi Edmond de Rothschild, Gitana 17 or Idec Sport , but I guess you have to start somewhere:)
Thanks Guys that looks pretty breath taking when you hit those creasts there is boat in the water, Its keel , rudder, starboard stabliser most of the time it fantastic to watch and scary at the same time great stuff.thanks again and hope Rosie is ok she is bound to be still feeling the effects of that knck on the head I can’t thank you Guys enough ❤🫶✌️🦘👍
Malizia is an amazing sea boat and her crew has incredible skills! Such a superb video of this great vessel in her element! Beautiful!!
Yachts were always meant to perform thus.....j
The flying Imocas is epic… but so is this drone footage…. Incredible stuff.
You should get the Oscar for best drone footage - never seen better Imoca action

I love this team, Boris has been a favourite since the last Vendee. I really hope they can hang on until the finish. Go Malizia! Andy UK
Thank you team Malizia for this breathtaking feast for the eyes, following you every day and omigosh Holcim is on your wake !
Gliding the waves so beautifully. Great team, great boat...
Woo Hoo! Thanks for the ride, Team Malizia. 😄
Cheers
5:45 that burst ... and then a pop up to 32 knots, says Boris, no problem, then floating down, then another takeoff. Insane beauty! 🚀⛵

Wow! Indeed, incredible footage, thanks for sharing this with us! 👏👍😀

It's absolutely amazing. Love racing action! Not so much you get to see that kind of power in acceleration from a wind powered machine
incredible footage
Making over 30 kts ... Joy! Well handled that boat is a Rocket Ship!
Imocas to Windfoilers and AC racers in between. Past decade of foil development has led to a new golden age of racing.
It is really amazing to see these AC-boats racing with 50 knots speed but my heart is with the IMOCA's and the Ocean Race.
@@tristantheuerkorn5124 Agree .... seeing Imocas surfing on foils past Cape Horn sets my hair on fire .

The boat name is MALIZIA, not Melizia.
Gaddang,..... impressive as all hell !!!!
Incredible! Congratulations ! you are amazing
Just amazing!!! 🙌🙌😎😎
Your OBR is the BEST
Hand landing a drone on an ocean racing yacht foiling at 27kts kin the southern ocean 😂🎉❤
Phenomenal!

The best. Go go go.
Making 20+ knots and sea state rough, with 40_50 knot winds......rock n roll or what
I was looking for PMD but this is also neat I guess
Totally crazy
Der helle Wahnsinn👍👍👍

Whem they will arrive in Itajaí??

Man would I love to be on that
HOW FAST ??
there is something wrong with these sailors! (yes, I have sailed a lot) Those conditions are fun for about an hour.
Who designed it?
VPLP-Design
@@tristantheuerkorn5124 But the main ideas came from Boris no?
What race is this?
The Ocean Race.

A question many are asking. Not enough destruction
Drone views make all the difference. The action is better seen from outside.
But combined with the onboard soundscape it is mutch better.

25knots boatspeed? Surely not!
Even 35 knots at the end of one acceleration.
record speed for Malizia was 39 kts at one time...
