Very good achievement in the development of this class of boat. But why are they not putting a. Small wing tab on the rudders too help it balance and stay on the foils.?
It’s not allowed by the imoca rules, I guess they don’t want all the risks inherent to full foiling boats. Charal kind of circumvented the rule by angling the rudder to produce lift on one while the other directs the boat.
@@debouvette it is not about the risk, the purpose of this class is not to improve the boats too fast so the older boats are not obsolete by next Vendée Globe edition. Usually the top 10 favorites are building new boats every edition and the 30 competitors are using boats or parts from the past 3 editions. FOr instance the winning boats of 2009 was 4th in 2021 without foils and is participating again in this years VG. They want to avoid the budget arms race and global/luxury sponsors from Americas Cup.
В России нав наверное верёвку к этой яхте не смогут сделать. Я тоже смотрю на их достижения в водных, водномоторных видах спорта. И думаю "Скоро только член в руке гонять будем. С экономикой и производством дело ШВАХ"
How safe are the bow riders? Would it not be better to have water ballast in the bow if weight forward is critical to keep the boats from lifting skywards? Are the bow riders tethered on to a safety line? Be unsafe not to be but not good if the bow stuffs into a wave. You could end up with injuries in the tangle of bodies.
love the fact that there is no music on the background so you can hear the actual sound of those boats at high speed awesome
Absolutely superb footage of these amazing boats.
Amen
« Initiative Cœur » impressionnant en rase motte, tres esthétique
oui Initiative Cœur... tres esthétique
Balance on those imocas on first shots is crazy. They have no rudder foils and are foiling perfectly with no hull touching the water. Amazing
