You are absolutely on point there, also we know that Eren was buried under a tree by Mikasa with his titan powers and the tree was absorbing his power of the titans because when Eren was decapitated by Mikasa, he still had titan markings on his face while Annie, Reiner and the alliance did not which means Eren was still a titan shifter while Annie, Reiner and the other were normal eldians. The titan powers have not disappeared from the world. Eren just took the power of the titans away from his friends and stored it inside himself and it was already kind of foreshadowed because he did say that he can take away the power of the titans away from his friends anytime he wants. So when Eren's head was buried under the tree, the tree started to grow rapidly and even resembling the titan tree that Ymir the founder first fell into.

I’ve seen parts of this theory before actually, but it wasn’t considered a theory, more so just general facts, or assumptions that the flowers produced were powers of the Attack and mindless or titans generally. This does actually combat the entire problem with the full rumbling. Good theory!

AOE theorists have mentioned this. They've used the Canon sequence as proof. They've used the season 2 intro as proof and Akuma No Ko as proof. Vegetation will grow after a full rumbling. However, that crawling titan part I have not seen anyone mention it so props to that one.

I think you may have cleared up something for me. Years ago, I read the light novel "Before the Fall." It features Angel Aaltonen, the inventor who developed the 3d maneuvering gear 80 years before the manga begins. In one chapter, Angel is standing on Wall Maria and looking at the lands beyond, and he notes that the land outside the wall is much less fertile than the land inside.
Indeed, we see this in the flashback chapters where Reiner, Annie, and Bertolt are walking to the Walls after being dropped off by Marley. The lands by the coast only have patches of grass, and as they go further inland there is more grass cover and a few trees. By contrast, there are huge forests inside the walls.
The world map shows that Paradis is an upside down version of Madagascar. In real life, most of Madagascar's fertile land capable of growing crops is located in the center of the island. This is probably the same for Paradis which is why the walls were built in the island's center.
However, in "Before the Fall" Angel describes the land outside the walls as completely barren with no vegetation (directly contradicting what we see in the anime and manga). However, your theory may provide an explanation. Over the course of decades, Marley dumped thousands of mindless Titans on the island to attack the walls. If Titans are sources of life like the video describes, then them wandering the island for decades could have "rejuvenated" the lands outside the walls.

    I'm so confused.
    1) I thought it was clear that the flower left unburnt when Eren blocked the canon by transforming into Titan was to show how precise a transformation can be depending on the shifter's goal in mind. What I mean is, the flower was there to show that Eren's goal was to protect them, consequentially also protecting the flower within an area of effect. Such precision (or perhaps, control) is not quite possible with the Colossal Titan nor the Pure Titans- a clear distinction from that canon-blocking scene whenever they do transform, leaving destruction.
    2) The English Dub in question have made some questionable script changes besides the Armin Script change, either diluting the original lines or completely changing it for reasons we may never know, the same unknown reason we may never know that several English Subtitles somehow managed to put the most random "translation" if we can even call it that, in the most random moments.
    3) Flowers, and largely nature in AoT have always been used as juxtaposing elements to the cruelty of life and destruction. Flowers and insects fall inadequate to those bigger and stronger than it, like humans who were like cattle to the Titans. But the cruelty of life doesn't stop there. And to live alongside death is cruel yet beautiful.
    4) Life is cruel and will persevere. Life will persevere and survive. Life will survive and multiply. It will take whatever form necessary. This is exactly what Zeke was talking about in chapter 137. For the same reason we see nature, flowers, and animals persevere, die, and reappear or regenerate in the show. And for the same reason why Ymir sought an undying body that will persevere and reappear or regenerate. Until the host no longer wants to live, it will seek another host and perhaps take a different form.
    4) If 139.5 implies the appearance of another host, it may not necessarily birth the Titans again. For all we know, the current host may be the tree itself, manifesting the power to grow bigger, getting the most sunlight by utilizing it's height as a form of survival. So, Isayama used the hallucinogenia as a representation of life's cruelty to multiply and survive.

Also, there's no doubt that vegetation will grow post-rumbling, whether it's the 100% or 80% version. That doesn't mean 100% rumbling just magically works so that's not an excuse. 😂 It'll take some time for vegetation to grow back to a sustainable state anyway.

Yes, I have always thought of this theory when making my friend watch attack on titan with me for his first time, he loved it ofcourse, also it’s basically what was explained in Godzilla: king of monsters, the kaijus do cause destruction but also in the paths of their destruction cause vegetation and new life to grow, of course in their case it was because of their radiation or something like that, but I think it’s very similar to how attack on titan is trying to explain it in their own way. I very much think that if AOE is true which will be f-ing mind blowing since I’ve been keeping up with this theory since the very beginning and I really hope it’ll happen as it will truly make attack on titan an amazing one of a kind show (more than it already is), anyway if they do AOE, I don’t think part 2 will have enough time to fully go into it since from what I heard it will only be roughly an hour, so I think they will actually make a part 3 (maybe 4) with full on their own anime ending. I really hope this will happen so they have enough time to make this amazing show have the amazing ending it deserves. TO ALL MY AOE FANS, IF THESE BUMS TELL YOU IN WONT HAPPEN, TATAKAE!!!!

I think there are 2 major problems:
    1. An 80% percent rumbling would still be an ecological catastrophe that'd take decades for the planet to recover from. If Isayama made a mechanic for earth's recovery it would still apply to that situation, so a mechanic existing doesn't necessarily suggest one or the other.
    2. Vegetation/life being encouraged to grow would not nearly be enough to mitigate the ecological damage done by either version of the rumbling. Any humans left would be screwed regardless for quite a while.
In my opinion, humans on Paradis (and presumably elsewhere) being somewhat fine after the rumbling is technically inaccurate to what would happen irl ecologically. But this show was never really about ecological consequences I don't think, so it's forgivable for the 'eternal war' message to be more clear.
It would have been cool to see more of the 'titans being the origin of life' idea though ig

This'll be a long comment, excuse my english (:
The way you started the video I thought you were gonna talk about a theory I have, that I didn't heard anywhere.
But I'll start with yours first. I can't say I agree with your examples since I watch with subtitles so in s1 I always thought of that scene that it made reference to titans, symbol of destruction, were able to keep delicate life safe. In s3, I understand it as a sad way to show how much time passed since that titan were there unable to move, that even trees began to grow.
BUT. You totally made a point. The titans on the island moved only in one direction so let's suppose half of the land in there is usable to cultivate and hold biodiversity. Even if the whole island was intact, that Paradis is the only spot in the planet safe for Eldians from Paradis wouldn't change the fact that they have to remain confined in there. And since there were various little comments here and there about the source of life, I think you may be onto something. And, more important, not mentioning in the story would be a BIG plot hole.
Now, my theory because it's somehow related.
It's not only a matter of food and biodiversity the problem. We suddenly have the island and the whole world full of decomposing corpse and we all know that means illness.
And as there were comments about the source of life, there were also at least two interesting mentions regarding this: the Founder being able to modify the eldian biology, and that there was a prescedent of the Founder healing the eldians during a pandemic if I remember correctly. And it's the same as the food issue. If Paradis is ok but they can leave the island, they still wouldn't be free. And it can be ok for the Eldians because they're safe, but Eren seeks freedom outside the walls.
So what I'm sure about is that we'll see Eren returning to the island, and before free Ymir for good to end the Curse, he'll modify eldians' bodies so they can survive in the world that's left (and I'm eager to see that scene of allegedly King Fritz screaming, being Eren doing it to erase memories enough to avoid a civil war among the survivors).

    • @samuelutanlock8141
      @samuelutanlock8141  Рік тому +5

Just some extra details I didn't point out in the video, the flower scene does not appear in the manga, nor the trees growing behind the crawling titan. In the anime the flower would be highlighted or atleast drawn BEFORE the transformation if it were to show us that the transformation is as you say "delicate". I feel like the lack showing it before the transformation and combined with the voice line from the dub makes it way more ambiguous..
Also the argument that the trees behind the crawling titan are there to symbolise how slow it moving is valid, however it is a little peculiar that there are no flowers or sapplings AROUND the area, it ONLY exists where the titan has crawled. (Also it moves, just very slowly)

    • @everjei2
      @everjei2 Рік тому

The issue with modifying the Eldian bodies to survive the diseases left by the Rumbling is that, at least in my assumption, it requires for several Eldians to be already affected by it and the Founding Titan to apply this knowledge and modify the body of those yet to be ill. I think of it like creating a vaccine. You can't create a vaccine if you don't know that the virus exists, if that makes sense.

2:02 That doesn't make sense, you're basing your theory in a dubbing adaptation, the original doesn't state that, nor other dubbings. Plus, if that were true, that would just sound as a cheap excuse worse than the colossal titan nuclear bomb effect, since we don't ever see it in any relevant or conclusive way.

Colossal titan nuclear bomb effect, what are you talking about? I mean there are way more people working on translation for dub than for the sub, so I wouldn't discredit it just because you are a sub-only. The sub states "flowers only on the inside?" which is ambiguous in meaning, but with the dub it brings better context in my opinion. Also my theory was based on the sub to begin with, and it is not only based on the cannon scene, but also on the crawling titan scene which I believe is the more important scene...

@@samuelutanlock8141 The bomb effect that happens in the third and fourth season but not in the first or second. Prior to the third season, it wasn't a thing and suddenly Isayama brought that out of nowhere without any evidence that that was a thing.
Just because there're more people working on a version than the other it doesn't mean it has a greater relevance, that doesn't make any sense. And it's not a matter of being "sub-only", it's literally the original language the Isayama created and determined specifically what was to be, there's simply no logic trying to compare it to any other version adaptation.
The crawling titan scene is much more likely to just have happen by the effect of time that those sapling grew. Realistically, there is no relevant evidence for such point. If it happens to be true, its foundations will very weak for such lack of concrete evidence.

'the Isayama created' I like that this suggests Isayama created the entire japanese language just to tell his story lol

@@samuelutanlock8141 The anime is 97% done. I doubt that we will see an AOE. The Anime watchers havent been complaining so far. Their might be some extra scenes that play beyond the final fight, but thats it. The new trailer kinda shows that Eren will lose

Good video, but this theory has definitely been in several videos and Reddit threads already.
