My favourite idea for the "how do you warn people about nuclear waste?" question was "genetically engineer cats whose fur colour changes in the presence of radiation. Then spread those genes so far that it's just a part of the average cat's DNA. Then start folk songs and legends about cats who change colour in the presence of great danger. Language may fade, but myth and legend endure."
That's something straight out of fantasy, I love it.
If you're go as far as genetic engineering why not make the same effect but with human hair instead?
@Sp4rt4nSl4ya Because cats are unlikely to dye their hair, whereas dying hair with anything from dirt to chemicals has been a human staple for millenia, and will likely continue. And if your hair changes colour under that dye/hair covering, that's not that quickly noticed.
Also, more importantly: human genetic engineering has many enemies. People care less about animals they don't intend to eat.
@@Sp4rt4nSl4ya because cats tend to have very little variation in their DNA over many many generations even after lots of cross breeding and would be unlikely to lose any implanted genes, whereas other creatures such as dogs or humans would inevitably breed out those traits.
a cat just walks up to you and turns bright yellow
Side note about those spikes to inform future civilizations about the dangers of a radiation depositary, there's actually a location in Fallout 76 based on that design
I know '76 gets a lot of flak but if there's one thing it does better than most other games in the series it's world & map design
The monsters are fun to fight, but the quests assigned to them is just garbage. Also almost forgot there is an eternally bugged quest that is NEEDED to fill up you daily quest quota! Play No Man's Sky or Paths of Exile instead.
@@username1660 if they did a single player patch - not some bollocks private server shit - I'd likely buy the game just for the exploration. As is? No chance.
I was just about to comment this
@@MarquisSmith I mean outside of endgame stuff, Fallout 76 can already be ran through as a mostly singeplayer experience tbf.
'Only hiccup is occasionally happening on a player doing the same quest or a high level checking up on a noob but either way it's pretty easy to just avoid people.
I love causing zach confusion with my cursed weapons :))))
And he still doesnt know what gun its really based on (MP153)
Also the shotgun shells change color based on what ammo type is selected, I made that cuz I thought it was a cool feature.
Glad you love the shotgun zach
Oh that's why Al is using that shotty it's by you. Cool mod & dude where do you find the time to make all these mods, you're a machine.

Why are some of the "stock" options labeled as a stock when there's only a pistol grip with no stock?
That guy is like a combination of Eli from the book of Eli and Sam Elliott Sam Elliott has the smoothest deepest buttery voice of all time
I said the same thing when Al did this mod a year or so ago. The reference is clearly Book of Eli but the character himself is also a clear analog for Sam Elliot.
He is the groundskeeper from Ghost Rider.

@@brothersgt.grauwolff6716 Yeh.

The story between Cain and Abel is a bit different. True, Cain was a farmer and Abel a shepherd, but the reason God liked Abels sacrifice more is because Abel sacrificed only the best of his stock to God, while Cain gave God his leftovers and the picks of the crop he didnt want to eat.
The Gawonii person is a tribute to Falllout tactics (the Brahmin Woods tribe sent a large number of recruits to the chapter after being freed from raids by BoS soldiers). Neato. Still weird to have him sneaking notes)
we now just need a Compilation of Zach's ADHD and Interesting Facts rants, Shit like the Yucca mountain spikes
I love how Cait was standing behind him giving you the "You want me to knife him?" look. lol
She's a real one for that
So fun bit of trivia, according to the Winter of Atom campaign for the Fallout TTRPG, there's a secret chemical weapons factory under that ruined church and under THAT is the ruins of a prehistoric city that's home to some sort of eldritch horror.
I want a Maxworld level mod that gives us that as a multi-quest story.
Fucking WISH the Fallout games had the same writing quality as the TTRPG lmao
Okay, that kinda goes too far. Like, will they add a Mole Miner city below everything?
Ahhh, good to see Zach's reaction to my 'SPAS at home' meshes. They were worse at one point. 😂
I think it’s worth mentioning that Zach failed to mention what I think was the “best” idea of the bad ideas for dissuading people from the waste dump, was a literal atomic priesthood, with knowledge being passed down over generations.
Edit: Okay, I do feel like there’s an important nuance of Cain and Abel that was missed. Abel put forward the best of his flock, Cain put forward just, whatever it was. He didn’t select the best to offer as his gift to a LITERAL DEITY WALKING AMONGST THEM, he offered him the leftovers.
Also, the humble man accepts correction from God. God wanted the first born sheep as a prediction of Christ. That's why the Jews sacrificed the firstborn sheep, with no broken bones, in anticipation of the Messiah who would come and save His people. God wasn't even mad, He just didn't accept a wrong sacrifice. Cain could have accepted the correction and made a correct sacrifice and it would have been accepted by God.
Instead Cain got pissed, and committed the first murder in history on his own brother Abel. Makes me think there was something wrong with him already. :D
So the thing with Cain and Able is that Able presented the best of his flock to God while Cain was just making an offering, so Able was shown favor for giving his best while Cain did a “Good enough”
The audio getting messed up when Zach goes underwater is such an unecessary but genius thing to do.
Bladdered is another word used to describe someone being drunk here in the UK we also use words like hammered slashed pissed shit faced
Us Americans also used hammered and shit faced, which Canada is similar to us. Not to mention the Kiwis and Aussies are like the UK. So I guess most of the English speaking world says hammered and shit faced.
Yeah, but we can do that for any word in the English language.
"I'll tell you what, I was COMPLETELY Bridgerton'd last night"

Man BioShock Infinite is so good
You know zach has massive adhd when he first gets condused about shotgun add ons and then gets confused by the brotherhood of steel and finally randomly rants about the structure of radiation containment though experiment. THEN follows up with another gun factoid. Great video!!!
The big stumbling block of Yucca Mountain, tmu, was that it sits on a pretty major fault line and it sortof undercut the perceived stability of the place to the public. Whether or not it'd have ever actually have affected anything, I don't know, but even the insinuation that a earthquake might hit and release radiation or the like was pretty unpopular. There was also some fears about driving the containers through Vegas, but those always seemed more reactionary to me because the actual containers for radiation waste are sturdy as hell. No car wreck is going to break those open. A structure collapsing earthquake I'm less certain about.
19:35 Those cruzifixes could also be a reference to Jesus's execution the cross. He was cruzified with two others (some misc. Criminals), one of them repented and accepted God (and also Jesus) as his saviour and the other one mocked Jesus. In Art this scene is represented with big cross in the middle for Jesus and the two smaller ones on his side for the two criminals.
yeah know given how much Jesus's Crucifixion was an assassination essentially. I could totally believe they actually gave him a bigger cross. Especially when you remember he had to carry it up the hill himself.
The spent nuclear fuel repository Zach was talkin is Onkalo in Finland. It's dug in Finnish bedrock of granite because of the seismic stability. Those designs shown were suggestions how to mark the mouth of Onkalo for future societies that were shown on document Into Eternity
I know yall are just joking around, but for the sake of biblical literacy I want to say that there's an implication in Genesis that Abel brought the best of his flock as an offering, whereas Cain merely brought a regular yield. Therefore, it makes sense that God would favor the greater sacrifice of Abel. It's also important to remember that God did not punish Cain or judge him at all for his sacrifice, He simply did not favor it compared to his brother.
Hi henry
"is there something glowing up there?"
>is in the glowing sea
>questions if something is glowing
Cain killed Abel over pride while Abel gave the best of his flock while Cain just gave the stuff he didn't really care about, Abel was humble and Cain was prideful that within his heart he only did it cuz Abel did it
6:50 AW DUDE you like Book of Eli too?! Man it feels like not nearly enough people like that movie and it’s such a good post-apocalyptic movies! Nice man.
I think this is the first and by far the only instance Brotherhood actually managed to land the vertibird without crashing
Edit: oops it disappeared lmao 😂😂😂
all thanks to creation engine and bethesda incompetence.
It only teleported it's fine. Mike does it once per episode anyway.
Submechanophobia is one of my biggest phobias and I only learned it cause of you Zach. Thanks for that!

There's a mod that makes vertibirds a lot tougher. I recommend that one.
Unless you go against the Brotherhood, where it becomes a mighty pain in the arse.
@@MarquisSmiththat’s what it SHOULD be though! They’re less tough then some 200 year old cars rusting on the side of the road normally!

When Zach marked the time as 7:41pm in game, it was 7:41pm irl… Spooky
On the subject of "how do we get future generations to stay away from nuclear waste"
I never understood why you wouldn't use pictures or common symbols associated with death.
Have a skull and crossbones. Have a series of pictures with a human approaching the site (the site should have some kind of distinguishing feature) and promptly dying.
Having a bunch of spikes protrude out of the ground would only make me more interested in poking around that site because "oh wow, a landmark, let me see what that's all about"
"That's the last time I take drugs from a man with face tattoos, on a boat, that wears a human ribcage as a shirt." -Zach 2023

Thee amount of various types of confusion in 1st 3 minutes is astounding.
That Eli gives me big Sam Eliot vibes
Whenever I'm playing a game and the text option is a question repeating the statement just made, I always imagine less shock "You're watching Me?" more like annoyed "You're watching me?"
Awesome mod perfect for the Christmas season, good video guys!

One of my favorite warnings is a written one which is “This place is not a place of honor... no highly esteemed deed is commemorated here... nothing valued is here.”
On the topic of the nuclear depository, it’s a similar thing with the REAL Stalkers of Chernobyl. Pretty neat and kinda sketchy. It’s relatively safe, but you don’t want to live there
Xmas gifts for Mike and Zach: Zach gets a book on cadence and Mike gets a poster of a bunch of calibers around the world 😂
The guy in the thumbnail looked like Landon Ricketts
Like if you combine Landon Ricketts with Sam Elliot
I love the rant about how he'd rather care for his sheep while his settlers are getting eaten by ghouls.
Well, this is DEFINITELY inspired by The Book of Eli. Fucking LOVE that movie.
I feel like the easiest solution to nuclear waste disposal site markings, second of course to doing nothing at all, is to basically just etch a pattern in an erosion-resistant material labeling a substance with fancy squiggly lines that lead to a skeleton, and then drawing that substance under a depiction of the local area. I think the depiction of a skeleton is pretty universal
I think that the shotgun is supposed to be the Riot shotgun from New vegas
i hope you guys cover America Rising 2 just to see what zachs reaction will be lol
“Who are the fuckin' Gideons? Ever met one? No! Ever seen one? No! But they're all over the world - putting Bibles in hotel rooms.”- Bill Hicks

God was whack, the dude bringing veg to the barbecue is great. Gotta have variety, add some crunch to the feast.
Gun Ideas to Annoy Zach™️: M2 Browning that fires 12 gauge slugs.
Eli's voice is amazing. Man sounds like a wizened cowboy.
7:53 failing our way to victory. Go down to go up.
9:40 that has an alternative problem and it's the same one as to why they're trying to dissuade interest: Time is the enemy of knowledge and entropy devours all things. Defenses eventually crumble to ash and dust with time. The point is also to prevent deaths and injuries to hypothetical peoples.
10:25 English has changed in 500 years and you might as well be speaking Welsh with how much it has changed in 1000. The printing press removed quite a few letters as well.
I find the irony of this being called old time religion and the talk of how we’d relay the dangers of nuclear waste is a topic because one idea is an “Atomic Priesthood” to solve the issue. Basically it a organization formed to keep the story of the dangers of the nuclear waste alive by evolving the warning to keep up with our ever changing language.
love all the references to fallout tactics. best fallout IMO.
I'm getting Ulysses vibes from the guy on the boat
i kinda like the transparent 12ga hulls, lets me know which load it is at a glance. the only gauge i have that seems to adhere to the color code is 10ga with brown hulls.
12:06: I'M SAILING AWAY...
I feel I must clarify that Cains whole deal was that he wasn't giving the best of his harvest to God, and that's why God told him off. Abel always gave his best sheep. Still not worth committing the first murder over.
Surprised it took this long to touch on nuclear semiotics
I was happy when zack got the mp7. I finally had a gun mod before i seen it on here.
Eli straight up sounds like the cowboy ghost rider from the first movie
My favorite idea for anti-snooping nuclear storage was to make cats that glow in the presence of ionizing radiation! Then you would go and make multiple folk stories that would survive the centuries about how dangerous the glowing cats are. It was an interesting idea that could work!
I feel like this is a reference to the book of Eli, while the guy himself is based off Sam Elliot
Most animals are smart enough to know to avoid the spikey pointy things, with those that have adapted work around those defensives. Certain animals get way too curious about things, and in terms of humans we just like to know the why of a thing being the way that it is.
Eli's voice feels REALLY familiar; did he voice Dusty Dude for that big radio mod as well? The one with Tumbleweed Tunes in it.
So who put Sam Elliot into Fo4?
You were so close. Cain was a jealous and wrathful man before he killed Abel. Cain was Jealous that because Abel was stronger and more capable he was the heir to their fathers place, then when Abel came home starving after a failed hunting trip, Cain threatened to let Abel starve unless he surrender all of his inheritance to Cain. So when it came time to give up an offering to God, Abel gave a lamb with an honest and generous heart where Cain gave crops with the intent of performing a transaction that benefitted him more, he also gave up more of his harvest purely to try and one up Abel out of spite. So because of this, God denied Cain's offering which Cain saw as an insult and through spite and jealousy killed Abel.
Ha his name is Eli and he is doing stuff with the Holly Bibble like that Denzel Washington film where he was blind the whole time.
You know, Remember the Titans.
And much like the Glowing Sea, This Place is Not a Place of Honor.
18:00 Hello again Steve~.

Good news my Xbox is fixed.
Also, fun little fact. They thought that founding a religion based on radiation being dangerous might be a good idea as well. Because religion if popular enough will last centuries... and now I just see the Children of Atom being the outcome of it.
I would really like to see what you guys think of the select shotgun mod for Fallout 4
You're presuming that 500 years from now, they don't understand the previous generation's language.
Why does that gowenii character sound like a mix between gman from the half life series and thrawn from star wars
Is this a "Book of Eli" reference?
Regards Kate's line: Bladdered is a phrase in the UK, but I think I've only really heard it in the mid-lands and further south. It does mean drunk, but I don't know if it's used in Ireland (which ostensibly, Kate is from, somehow. Can we address that? Did Besthesda add an Irish commune that is so heavily inbred and isolated they never integrated after the 1800's?).
As established in fallout 3, people have boats.
I assumed Eli was Sam Elliott
Not tryna be that guy, discount Sam Elliot, but Arroyo's not in California; it's in Oregon. And also to my knowledge Arroyo was never part of the NCR, although maybe things changed in 45 years since Fallout 2
It drives me crazy shotshells are not color coded.
