A very interesting selection of heroes, villains, saints and sinners.
I love looking at the evolutions/developments of militaries through their history
Some great art again. Also nice job on all the research.
Good to see you again!
Great stories, well told too. We don't have to speak about the art, it's unique and precise and approachable as always. What a great style for educational content
13:26 I saw this tieing sash in a figure in a pencil case from 13th century Mosul.
I love "frenemy" xD
the many centurions, very nice
Great job! Titus Pullo maybe not from 13th Legion but still awsome ❤❤❤❤ R.I.P Ray Stevenson 😢😢😢😢
I enjoyed this.
oh my how did i miss this one when it came out! this is easily my favorite of all your collections, i love to see more unique, less “streamlined” looks on our beloved romans! very nice very nice.
Fascinating 🤔🧐 the Hekatontarch I've never knew till now 📖 🖊️
Very good video, as always, it is interesting to see the evolution that these Roman officers had during the different periods in the history of that great civilization and I did not know that the rank of centurion had survived until Byzantine times, but with another name (reason why it is often overlooked, probably). Of all of them, I prefer the style of the first one that you presented, that combination between the Hellenistic and the Roman, is what makes the panoply of the centurions of the Early Republic seem spectacular to me. =D
Well with "Different name".Greek equivalents were in use already during classical Roman empire by greek speakers and writers. These typically used rather greek versions of those titles and they were even used in official context by Roman army and state itself in predominantly greek speaking territories. So,not even this was some abrupt change. There were several variants to say "Centurion" in greek and some were almost identical to latin version.
Hi I discovered your channel 2 days ago and I'm totally loving it
I mostly interested in 500bc-100ad infantry, I would like to see Georgian, Xiongnu, Berber, subsaharian Africa, Mauryan and maybe Slav and Finno-Ugric if there is any historical evidence from that period
Keep your channel alive we love it💪🏻
Lucius a Drill Sergeants role model😂 remember recruits this IS what they mean by the good old days (minus the Violet death)
Man i love you draw, i wait a lot for you return

Your art has gotten so good over the years man 👏
So talented, too cool!
I love it mate. Me and my brother, like I said under other video, go and paint in very amateurish way, no way near your skill, the armours of troops we discuss. Be it from Fantasy like Fallout or history.

Which one’s your favorite?
Make one about umayyads like the Roman to Byzantium armament. there are surviving depictions in Syria and you’ll gain boatload of views. Similarly with the rest of the near East.
Can you Make more new Sasanian Warrior videos?
Great video, as always! :)

Isn't 40 years of military experience close to impossible? Let's say the guy joined the army at the age of 15. Isn't 55 a difficult age to reach in those years?
Well he possibly didn’t exist:/ but 55 would’ve been possible, probably near the limit of most people’s lifespans
The average lifespan of 30 (for example) yeras doesn't mean that there were no people who lived for 60 or 70 years. The child mortality was significant, so many people died extremely young, and while some others lived quite long, the average was around 30.
Especially Spartans WHO threw Babies away that werent "Spartan" enough
Request: Mamluk warrior
Where is Crastinus? Caesar's best Centurion?
oooo i didn't know about Crastinus!
@@foojer Now you do, and you responded? this is 4 months ago, but hey, you should make a part 2 to this, and crastinus hopefully will be there. He's a pretty good centurio, keep him in mind for future vids thanks.

Amazing stuff as always; artwork, subject matter, music, and narration. Any chance/serious thought towards stickers of popular figures?
You mean digital stickers or actual ones? If you want actual stickers you can find some on my Redbubble page
Hey Foojer, what would you say is the best or fastest way to draw chainmail
You should look up two artists, Wolfdawgart and Gambargin, they do chainmail pretty well
Sempronius Densus is the best
