After a brief warm up, Chick plays through Children’s Song #6 (which you can find on his latest solo album, ‘Plays.’) Speaking a bit on his Children’s Songs, Chick said:
“I love being around kids because they’re free and they’re bright, and they wake you up. Thinking about that concept of the brightness of kids, that was the model for me writing these Children’s Songs.”

How long has this one been in his live sets?
Somewhat interesting story about this song… I didn’t know at the time that this was one of the children’s songs I only knew it as a return to forever tune… Back in 2000 or so, I had taken a survey on Chick Corea’s website about what music he should do live… I wrote that he should do the song to the pharaoh kings… And then when I saw him live near me a few years later play a solo piano And play this one, I wondered if it was a response to my survey answer, especially since they did ask for information like address…
