I have read only the books, so watching the reactions is the first time looking at some characters in the TV show. The Others will forever be smooth literally snow-white things to me.
It may not have been the ending people wanted, but it was the right ending for the series. The problem was only in execution. The books would do it better, if only he'd write them...
