      KFlo just bought an 07 trd or and new to your channel. Nice content and video editing. I would like to up grade my shocks front and back and leafs. Question. If my leafs are already flattening out, What do you recommend for shocks and leafs. I would like to add maybe a 2in lift. Thanks for your time

      KFlo, would you be willing to 3D print some more spacers? My bracket also doesn't reach the axle just like your situation. I'm trying to avoid drilling and cutting an extra bracket onto the existing one...

    Good video, but you didn't need to remove the entire leaf pack from the truck. You could have performed this task much easier by leaving the springs in place. Just a little FYI.

    • @KFloTacoma
      @KFloTacoma  5 років тому +2

      BadCow, I totally agree with you that it can be done without the leaf springs. Although, these were new OEM leafsprings from the dealership recall and as soon as I removed the securing bolt for the leaf pack, the leaves expanded and I had no clearance at all, even with the blocks removed. The rear axle were already dropped as far as it can go without overstretching the rubber brake line.

    Hi, we recently bought this 2007 Toyota Tacoma Crew cab,4x4, 4L V6. We found out from dealership that rust and rear leaf springs were done 5 yrs ago. But the rear springs look like they're kinda saggy and overloaded condition. I watched some videos about the repairs and servicing of these rear springs that the height of the fender flares from the ground is 37 inches before replacements, while ours are 36 inches. Any reference you can tell me what might be the correct distance from the ground to the fender? Thanks.

    • @KFloTacoma

      Yes you can! try it without the sumo spring first and see how that works out. Adding a leaf does increase the loading capacity of the rear regardless and you may not need the sumo springs.

      No Issues. I would suggest to watch my latest video on my most current setup. When you add more weight to the back, you'll have to switch to heavier springs (i.e steel rear bumper, tire carrier etc.)

      I have not replaced the brake lines. I've gone off road driving with the truck multiple times. I will be replacing them with longer ones though in the future. As long as you don't do any hard core rock crawling, I think you'll be fine. Watch my vermont overland videos, you'll see the extent of the off road driving we did.

      Yes that is correct. The back was starting to sag because of all the load. I have a cap, roof tent and motorcycle that i like to take around. Check my IG to see how much stuff I put back there.
      The block is actually only about 2 inches and the add a leaf adds i believ another 1.5. If i get rid of the block then the whole rear actually goes lower by about 0.5 inches. For me, i like the rear higher than the front anyways so I kept both. Its you're own self preference though at the end of the day

    • @KFloTacoma
      @KFloTacoma  4 роки тому

      When you say spring under you're saying that the spring is under the axle right? I just want to make sure we're using the same terminology. If that's what you mean, according to some quick google searches, these are normally spring over rear axles. You can just purchase stock parts and get it back to its precious configuration

    • @KFloTacoma
      @KFloTacoma  4 роки тому

      If you mean spring under as the spring is sagging and is sitting real low, then you can either replace the leaf pack with a new set and/or add a leaf.

    I was adjusting rear brakes on my 13 Taco...have a cracked leaf on the passenger spring pack. I am upgrading to new and heavy duty rear springs. I found a local spring shop that will replace with new springs and charge 110 labor per side. I will consider adding helper leafs if required. Tacomas have weak rear springs and shitty drum brakes. So the truck is well made but not perfect.

      The leaf only adds about 1.5" when loaded. The block adds 2". If I swapped the two then the rear would squat lower than I want. I didn't want to loose that clearance, additionally I do run my truck heavy with the cap and the tent on there all the time. At the end of the day, it's really up to you and how you run your truck

      Also how thick is your front spacer ? I have. A 1.5” thick soacer in front , how much lift does that equal ? And in the rear i have a 2” thick spacer . Will i get the same lift i have now by replacing the block with the add a leaf ?

      Another question man sorry for all the questions . Do you have regular front cv axels or upgraded high angle ones ? Iv heard that with the lift i have they are at a high angle and might go out quick

    • @KFloTacoma
      @KFloTacoma  4 роки тому +1

      LOL no worries. Here's my answers:
      total lift: 3.5"
      spacer thickness: 2"
      Front spacer: same as you 1.5" thick
      If you're riding light without any heavy constant weight on the back of your truck (like mine with the cap tent and stuff i leave in the back), you can effectively replace the spacer
      I have regular front CV axles, but I do have a front diff drop from the kit - that's important. You can't have severe drive angles for those CV joints.

    Hey bro is there a way these have to go ? Meaning do they have front and back or doesnt matter ? I had mine installed and the right side is higher than the left , everything seems to be correct but im not exactly sure on what it might be

    • @KFloTacoma
      @KFloTacoma  4 роки тому

      If you're using the exact one that i recommended then no there is no front to back orientation. How much is the difference between the left and right side? Keep in mind, all the heavy parts are on the left side of the truck (gas tank ,battery etc.)

    • @agustinherrera5600
      @agustinherrera5600 4 роки тому

      It is 1” difference but only in the rear . The left side measures 40” from the ground to the bottom of the fender and the right measures 41” . And this is measuring on level ground . 1” is too much to be the gas tank i think . They are not the same that you used . Do you have the same measurements on both sides?

    • @KFloTacoma
      @KFloTacoma  4 роки тому

      The passenger side is about 1/8" taller. I do have a roof top tent that sits on the passenger side of the truck and weighs about 130 lbs. What other heavy mods do you have? Have your friend sit on the passenger side of the truck bed and remeasure to see if that makes a difference. What type of add-a-leaf did you buy?

    • @agustinherrera5600
      @agustinherrera5600 4 роки тому

      I dont have any heavy mods . I have a spring force add a leaf . I dont think the gas tank will weigh it down 1”

      Were you able to take measurements beforehand? You'll be surprised at how much sag the driver side has over the passenger side. Watch my tacoma lean video, I had a sag of about 1 inch at the driver side

    Will these springs work on my 2019 trd off road

    Hey bro were u able to watch my videos ? The side that is higher i also noticed that the wheel sticks out about 1/2 more than the other side .is that normal? Or is there something iff aswell since its 1” higher and the wheel sticks out more on that side

    • @KFloTacoma
      @KFloTacoma  4 роки тому

      Yes i idid just watch. Here are some recommendations:
      1. Sag is based on spring force - Have a friend sit on the passenger side and take measurements again.
      2. Check to make sure the base of the leaf pack is installed on center on the axle mounting pad
      3. Check the add a leaf to see if the friction pad is installed on both the front and the back of the leaf
      4. Check the leaf shackle mount at the rear to see if they are both installed the same way and angled in the same manner

      I already took measurements and everything seems to be on correct but im still not sure on the reason . Also the same side thats higher the wheel sticks out 3/4 more than the other side , is there a way to fix the wheel sticking out?

    • @KFloTacoma
      @KFloTacoma  4 роки тому

      Is there a wheel spacer?

    • @agustinherrera5600
      @agustinherrera5600 4 роки тому

      No the wheels have an offset but only 1 sticks out 3/4 more than the rest . On the same side i have the issue with it being higher

    • @KFloTacoma

      Maybe its that one wheel. Did you check the differences?

    Have you experienced any squeaking?

    • @KFloTacoma
      @KFloTacoma  3 роки тому

      I had squeaking when I first bought the truck and then there was a recall on the rear OEM leaf springs. The dealer replaced them for free and the new ones didn't have any. You can check your truck to see if there's any outstanding recalls, if not then they do sell the friction pads in between the leaf springs if you wanted to go that route. The other route would be to just replace the leaf springs outright.

    lol those are NOT c-clamps, they are pullers (pushers?). you should always use the right tool for the job, and those, while they do a similar thing, arent it.
    otherwise, very informative video.

    Can you leave the pack on the truck when installing this? I'm on factory springs and just putting on a 1" AAL

    • @KFloTacoma
      @KFloTacoma  7 місяців тому

      Yea, technically yes. Just make sure that your AAL has a new center bolt since the new thickness of the leaf pack will not work with the old center bolt
