When I first started thinking about buying elektron gear, the pricepoint and specific workflow were a big worry. Years later after buying a Rytm mk2, Digitone and Digitakt I couldn’t be more happy with my choice. Great devices, updates and community. LED intensity rules but the contrast between the active and non active patterns when switching is way too low on any setting but max. Super hard to tell which pattern is currently active.

Owning this drum since the mkii came out. First I really liked it for all its functions and possibilities. After a year or so I completely stoped using it because it did never compete soundwise with any of my other drum machines like Roland MFB or Jomox.
After my disappointment about the AR I bought a machinedrum and I am living happy with it. Sometimes it happens that I use the AR as a sampler but the analog engines sound a lot cheaper than Korg Volcas..
or is it just me? Still the sequencer is great and the new Euclidean mode sounds easy and fast.
