Idk if anyone will see this because there’s over 180 comments now. But the rhipsalis @ 17:52 is actually called a hurricane cactus or (lepismium cruciforme spiralis ). I just got one, and took a long time googling what it was so I felt the need to share.

Great setup! I like that it has a small discreet lock on it, Im gunna need that for keeping the kiddos out of the greenhouse 😂 hopefully one where the lock works, hope you can get yours to work!

@@carrieholke522 You might have already figured this out, but I just got the white lights today after giving up on finding ‘pink’. The white ones do have a pinkish hue! Maybe that’s what Harli got. I know it’s been a month but I hope that helps!
So you put some plants in there - which means the other spaces are free - which means a new shopping vlog&haul? hehehe
The sticky tapes provided are not strong enough! My lights came tumbling down and broke some of my plants. I now double taped with 3M tape that holds up to 15lbs. Also, the cabinet locks only if you push the bottom latch down on the left door. :)
I was wondering about that tape. I'm paranoid that they will fall and smash my plants.

People were saying they would get metal grated shelves from the cabinet store to fit. I'd do that and zip tie. That way there would also be better circulation.
Same! I went for the 30 lb because I'm still scarred from the first disaster 😭 Also the heat of the lights and the humidity can also erode the adhesive.
The command strip velcro is great for this.
Hi Harli, just wondering about you putting water in the saucers without first putting small rocks or pebbles in the saucers so the plants aren't sitting directly in the water, to prevent root rot?

As long as the water is very low this could be ok for plants in leca, looking back through all her plants are in a chunky bark mix. Maybe she needed to water so this was the way to get humidity up and bottom water at the same time...

I made a similar comment. I thought Hoyas don't like to be overwatered and have delicate roots. She seemed pretty confident doing it.

Omg this is perfect for my home. With this i can have more plants that are easily reached instead off high ontop of my furniture. But still save from my rabbit so he wont nibbel on everything.
He ate atleast 9 advocados that where almost 7 months old and and nibbled on a lot off succulents... mainly the soil but the bastard made sure i cant have plants infront of my window or or the tables....
I use two computer fans in my cabinet. They are tiny, silent, and do a great job.

Hi Harli! I don’t know if anyone has suggested this or if you’ll see this but I wanted to throw out there that you could get a Christmas tree foot switch to plug your greenhouse into then plug the switch into the wall. That way you can step on the switch to turn all the lights off/on at once instead of having to turn each one off/on individually. Just a thought! Love your channel! Happy holidays to you and yours!

I just looked at the grow lights you had linked, and I didn't see a pink option.... Am I just missing them? The only one I saw was white or yellow... I love the pink!!
If you connect the cords to a single extension cord you can shut off the lights all at once and worry about reaching to find the switch!
I was thinking of getting even a "smart plug" so you could have it on timer and use your phone!
There is a switch on the cord that has the plug :)

if you have trouble keeping the humidity up, maybe you could put one of those portable humidifiers that you charge and put in a bottle of water! they're pretty small so it wouldn't take up a lot of room, but it would probably be a pain to keep charged/filling up the bottle. just an idea, love the video!!
The humidifier was not as popular for an enclosed space without fans/ adequate air circulation. The more popular choice for these cabinets was a small water fountain, like the little ones you could find at Michaels for indoor use. Many people also used weather stripping on the doors to keep humidity in. There are a ton of modifications for these. There is also an IG just for people and these cabinets.

Harli, are you sure about the plants sitting in saucers full of water? Especially hoyas? I know for a fact it can promote root rot.

@@susannescheper8350 yep, exactly. I put containers with water (a lot of them are scotch glasses haha) next to the pots, because I don't have trays nor pebbles. 🙂

I built my ikea greenhouse a month ago and am IN LOVE with how eye catching it is. I keep all my expensive plants in there to help them grow obviously but also to draw peoples attention to them when they come over!

I have the Barrina lights that produce white light (48 inch ones, they have color options for different needs) and my succulents love them! I switched over from gooseneck purple LED lights from BriteLabs and the difference is noticeable even after only a month of using the new white LEDs. My succulents were much happier almost instantly. I realized my lights sucked for succulents and just weren’t’ powerful enough when I started taking them outside in the summer and they actually grew, lol. I am very pleased with how affordable they were as well!

Is it really Alocasia Dragon Scale? The shape of the leaves is OK but the color is different. My Dragon Scale (and everything what is labeled on the EU market as Dragon Scale) is deep green, much more intense than your plant. Is it just camera or this plant is bluish? If so, to me it looks more like Alocasia Silver Nebula.
I saw MissOrchidGirl’s video today about the same greenhouse closet and she figured out that you have to lock something at the top for the lock to work...
Also I’m a bit salty that I want it but I can’t afford it, neither could I buy it even if I could afford it, in my country you can only buy essential items rn and it’s all because the government decided to open up everything including the nightclubs right after the first wave...

The airflow is very restricted with the glass shelves. Opting for wire shelves, or custom cut acrylic with air slots cut, quite pricey but works. And corner shelves instead of a full width one. You also need weatherstripping to keep the humidity in. I have two without weatherstripping and there's no humidity.

And if I do not use the weather stripping that everyone else suggests, wouldn’t that mean I wouldn’t need a fan? I don’t want super crazy humidity. In retrospect, would you change anything? I am on a similar mission as you were at the time that you made this video.

Ok I'm confused because isn't putting plants so close together like dangerous cuz the plants could spread diseases? Keeping plants spread out or just not touching is general prevents that, and why are they putting water in the saucers all the time..? They'll get root rot like that. It looks nice for sure but this layout isn't good for the plants.

No, they have cover pots so they aren't bottom watering, they are just beefitting from the humidity it's creating.

So I noticed you put water in the saucer trays of your plants which surprised me because I thought Hoyas don't like to be over watered and their roots were delicate. Do you do that for Hoyas and all your plants? I know orchids and violets don't like standing water either. If that is what you do this will work great while I go on vacation or out of town.

Love the setup, those pink tinted lights are beautiful, they give it a romantic, jungle vibe. For some reason I was expecting a typical vibrant LED light and that was a nice surprise.
Also you have a grow tent in the basement!?! did I miss a video on that?
If your Milso is missing the locking mechanism contact IKEA. The cabinet should lock.
