      Coincidentally i have similar hair type to Dre so no surprise that this product works great for me. Ocean Clay works better for me than Hanz De Fuko and Cavalier Clay. (I think Cavalier Clay is too heavy for my hair type and normally looks very flat when i use it. I tried it alongside OGX Mousse as a pre styler. Has similar hold to Quicksand but it goes through my hair effortlessly like butter. I prefer this to Morris Motley styling balm as well as the hold is better for me.

      for me it gives me a bit of shine. not like a greasy pomade. similar to cavalier clay except better with thin hair.

    Nice review. I just bought some clay pomade (High Rise) but this is interesting stuff to be considered for the future. Totally unrelated, but I noticed your video auto focus kinda goes in and out ever so slightly sometimes. Have you ever considered shooting in manual focus? It would eliminate that issue. Anyways, not a huge deal.

    I've been using this for about a week. Really pleased with it. The smell, reworkability, and how healthy my hair feels (with shehvoo cleanser) is awesome! And I also have cavalier and claymation and tend to agree with your comparison.

    looking to get clay type product and need some help. Trying to decide between ocean clay, baxter of california clay pomade, arcadian clay pomade, and odoud's matte paste. I have thick medium hair and go for a modern quiff style. Which of those products doesn't leave your hair feeling heavy, has the best hold and finish and which one would you recommend? thanks

    Can you do a review on the Arcadian water based pomade? I haven't seen any reviews on it and am very curious to see how it performs. I just got the clay pomade, it's amazing. I'm in the market for a daily driver pomade, and I would love to give Arcadian more of my business

    Hi Mike what clay do you recommend for people with thin hair ?

    • @MMTV
      @MMTV  7 років тому

      Darryl 03 hey man! For thin hair you can use a lot! Hybrid by BluMaan is a great choice for folks with thin hair.

    • @Yes-sc1pb
      @Yes-sc1pb 7 років тому

      Modern Man TV I play alot of sports and I sweat alot will hybrid last after at least 3 hours of play sports?

    • @inappropriatecontent2589
      @inappropriatecontent2589 7 років тому +1

      Darryl 03 it’d be tough to find ANYTHING that lasts through a whole three hours of high intensity sports. When I️ know I’ll be in a situation that’ll mess up my hair, I️ use an oil based pomade (goon grease) so that I️ can just whip out a comb and completely restyle

    I noticed when looking at the ingredients to Ocean Clay by Dre Drexler that it had paraffinum liquidum as the first ingredient . Wouldn't that be bad for your hair?

    • @MMTV
      @MMTV  7 років тому

      Samuel Hernandez it has to be cosmetic grade when used in cosmetics so no it’s not harmful. There was a major discussion about this because it’s in cavalier as well. I don’t think it’s harmful, I don’t worry too much about stuff like that.

    • @TheGuitarFreak4u
      @TheGuitarFreak4u 7 років тому

      Modern Man TV thanks for the quick reply :). Yeah i just wasnt sure, i tried researching it a little and i was seeing some mixed opinions but im sure brands like these wouldnt use it if it was too harmful. I already ordered some, cant wait to try it out!

    • @MMTV
      @MMTV  7 років тому +1

      Samuel Hernandez yeah I have talked to some professionals recently about things like this and parabens and sulfates and what I’ve learned is there is a lot of things folks are led to fear about hair products and they really shouldn’t be. Hope you enjoy ocean clay!

    Which is the best for fine, dense hair claymation cavalier or ocean clay?

    • @MMTV
      @MMTV  7 років тому

      Bob Jones375 cavalier or ocean clay would work the both provide more texture and better overall features than claymation and are more bang for your buck overall. But the question of cav or ocean clay really just depends on if you want that high hold or not.

    • @BobJones-ss5xt
      @BobJones-ss5xt 7 років тому +1

      Modern Man TV are you saying that ocean clay does not have a high hold? How does its hold compare to claymation, cavalier, and mattifier by hairbond?

  • @chrxsv

    Would you recommend this for really thick & wavy hair?

    • @MMTV
      @MMTV  6 років тому

      Chris yeah man it should work for you. Cavalier has a bit more hold I think tho but either one should work fine. Check the description for coupon codes on either one so you can save some cash 👍

    Can anyone help me out I use old spice hair Putty and when I use it at the beginning of the day it's perfect how I want it but then it falls down a lil and I keep touching my hair and then it starts looking like I have dandruff and dry what can I do for it to stop falling or should I use another hair product ? Tips or recommendations?

    • @nightk3717
      @nightk3717 7 років тому

      josue lozano it depends on your hair type, if you have thick hair than old spice wouldn't work. Also big name brands aren't usually the healthiest and may contain harmful ingredients. So it's better to buy cavalier or ocean clay for better hold and healthy hair.

    • @jaredbobier2844
      @jaredbobier2844 7 років тому

      Definitely get a better product. Your hair is part of your body and you should take care of it like it is important to you. Old spice stuff is very unhealthy for your hair. And the white dried flakes of the old spice stuff will always be there, it’s just what happens when that product sets up in your hair (I used to use it that’s how I know) so just switch products. I recommend anything by O’douds, Shear Revival, Arcadian Grooming. This Ocean clay seems legit as well and worth a try.

      Bleach Latte I don’t think so. Lasts a long time. You don’t need to use as much so it’s not a big deal to me.
