- Yes Children it's true. Syfy was once Sci Fi and they played a lot of science fiction. Bumpers circa 99-01 There's Tony Hawk in an awesome TRON Knock off, killer robots, sliders, and more! These came from my old mst3k tapes
you tube is the only thing keeping the original sci fi channel alive
I miss this Sci-Fi! I watched it every damn day!
I especially miss the logo. Using 'Saturn' was perfect!
Though I prefer the bumpers from the earlier "90's" era of the Sci-Fi Channel, I would say that yes, this was the Golden Age for Sci-Fi.
There was so much good original programming and it was all mostly science-fiction related. MST3K, The Outer Limits, Stargate, Farscape, and classics like Star Trek TOS and TNG were just amazing to see all in one place playing on an endless loop. You could just leave the TV set on that channel all weekend long and never change it. Now the only original stuff is purposefully made to be so-bad-it's-good crap like Sharknado and Mansquito. At some point they just gave up even trying to make or show anything that was actually good.
The Outer Limits was not a SciFi original. It was made for Showtime, and then the reruns appeared on other channels later
.
True. But the last season was a scifi original.
I liked the Scifi Prime bumpers and the Prime woman.
SCI FI was so great. Now it eats rotten roadkill.
my favorite was the Jet Li "I am sci-fi" bumper
The SCI FI channel used to be cool even their promos were cool they are now like MTV they forgot who they are and their logo was too
Both now lose it.
This is what they need to go back to
Ahh, Phantom Planet. Great episode. Oh, and It Lives by Night there at the end.
I sure miss Sci-Fi World.
you can tell 2:50 was made in the early 00s
Farscape narrator sounds like Grey DeLisle
more like sci-friday.
they sold-out like many others these days.
The Nokia 9290. 8-)
Landry Prichard hey what year did Minority Report take place in? That bad boy is due for a comeback!
2001, good sir! And I think there was/is a streaming TV series based upon it.
