I find it slightly amusing especially with Bart trying to make Foie Gras, but Lisa insists that the goose should be free, which for a few seconds the goose does fly but, it ends up too fat as it belly flops on the rug in front of homer only to be stolen by Santa's Little Helper.
For those who ask, the couch gag was made Sylvain Chomet, a french animation director better known his unique animation style and their movies "The tripplests from belleville (Nominated for an Oscar in 2004 ) and "The Illusionist" , I recommend both of them, they are great.
All that smoothness just for a couch gag? I'm surprised they even had time for that. Also, glasses. Neat interpretation of those Simpsons ping-pong eyes.
What a master of art Sylvain Chomet is, ranging from the Pigeon Lady. Triplets of Bellevue and my favourite. The Illusionist, all wonderful pieces of art that succeed in the tradition of "a good story doesn't need to be heard". Granted a good musical score and sound affects here and there in the animations.
A detail I just noticed: The sounds of Marge and Homer's footsteps have different intensities due to the difference in weight between them. Homer's footsteps are intense and louder, while Marge's footsteps are lighter and smoother.
