Jake Widgeon from Moog Music demonstrates the Moog Little Phatty analog synthesizer at Kraft Music.
I've had my phatty for over a year and have covered all of this, takes a long time though but it doesn't seem like work or a learning curve…just having fun messing around with an absolutely beautiful piece of equipment. Great Demonstration btw
A demo and lesson in synthesis all in one! Bloody great vid!
Trouble with ALL these videos are they are demo`d making noises, its an instrument, lets hear it being used as such
HOOK I would argue that the point of of a synth is synthesis...
CANNOT WAIT for my LP Tribute to arrive next week. I've got my RE-20 Space Echo just waiting :)
Did it ever arrive?
Excellent vid with Jake,as usual!
4:40 regular show
great demo. thanks.
I'm sold.
Awesome video thank se guys !
great video! very clear and informative
Your tutorials are awesome
Grandma or phatty i cant decide. I do want to create my own sounds from scratch
I went for the Phatty. You just don't have those problems with misplaced knobs, when switching through presets. I found the elegance of the interface quite intriguing. It works very well in a modern environment (DAW). ... They are a little overpriced by now, but this synth will be an absolute classic in a few years.
Nice Synth!
great vid
How would this work as a companion to a mini moog? It’s simplicity and memory sets a quick grab.
Utilizing memory bank sounds with slight mods quickly while playing around on the mini.
Can you run a sequencer into this and mod the sound out?
Thanks
I still find it odd that I can create close to original Moog tones that seem hell bent to blow my monitor speakers out utilizing only my Alesis Micron or Akai Miniak, yet at a fraction of the cost compared to a Moog machine. Sure, they're only VAS's, but the VAS vs. pure analog argument has been beat to death and is pointless. Somebody needs to do a video upload to UA-cam doing a blind taste test " Is It True Analog, Or is It Digital ".
Its not about the power of the sound, it is about the liveliness of analog oscillators. Digital is static, it is like playing a sample of a guitar vs playing an actual guitar. Now, although much better than just a static sample, as there is technology to make it behave like an analog oscillator....but it is all programmed, and follows a pattern and starts to sound samey to the ears. Real analog does not do this. This is coming from someone with both digital and analog synths, I appreciate both for what they are.
2019 I want this synth, can’t find one with white keyboard, mostly turned to yellow and I don’t like it.
Moog is not crap, John Hook just different and expensive, compared to value digital, i've got a Nord and a Moog, so I can see what you're getting at.
What are you filtering, Jake from Moog?
anyone try the little phatty with the eventide space? if so, what were your thoughts?
Prefer the MG1 Concertmate and the sounds are almost identical ......
Can I create pad sounds with the little phatty?
Sure, but they'll be monophonic sounds.

Anyone with more expertise, please correct me if I'm wrong, (I'm a relative synthesizer nubile) but I think you'd be able to get some great pad sounds by adjusting the attack and sustain envelopes to a higher level
is this as heavy as it looks? @kraftMusic
Yes. I tried to lift one about a week ago
sub phatty, little phatty or save up and get a sub 37 - i can't decide
Sub 37 man, you have more possibilities, the phattys are more for bass and leads only in my opinion
carloasis
thanks for the reply but --way ahead of you! had my sub37 about a year now and i'm still finding crazy things about it. its alot more modern sounding than an LP but it does pretty much anything i ask it (:
Be a little more criticizing, jeez
Seriously !!!!! am i the only one who thinks this moog is crap?
***** Yes, you are.
as Jake would say, really really great sound. really really expensive though : (
Its like the Les Paul. Overrated.
Geddy Lee of Rush fame used it live for the Time Machine Tour 2011 - can’t be all that bad...
