The Bernie Worrell guy is a born prodigy, Stevie was fantastic, but Bernies sound was almost tangible I could pluck the notes out of the air and bag it, so eerie, yet so cool!
Bernie Worrell: No drums, no vocals, no guitars; best synth player ever. *Soul* til the end.
You sound like a novice! Best synth player ever......I don't think so
DavidLeon M.O.G. Sounds like someone missed the mothership....
FAAAACTS
BEST AT HIS SOUND & compared to the other LEGENDS, BW’s flow was TIGHT & ENJOYABLE!!!!! Respect ✊🏽
Joe Parton he for sure missed the mothership!! Bernie had a sound of his own. But I will say this Andre Lewis from the group maxayn needs to be herd on the album bail out for fun. 1974 this dude was incredible
Bernie worrell is just WRECKING damn
yussss RIP bernie 😨😓 funkiest best EVER 🎛🎹🎛🎚
He has the most experience with synths so that's probably why.
Yeah, he killed that shit.
This video just put me on to him. He killed it.
Dam you see them chords he threw in there feels like a funky horror movie
This is like history repeating itself, considering that these four legends were among the first musicians to use Bob Moog's iconic instruments. Another observation is, playing styles are a lot like fingerprints. Even if you listened to the audio without the video, you could probably figure out who's who. Cool.
Love Stevie playing the funky bass line to Boogie On Reggae Woman
+Justis Jones i was thinkin the same thing! :)
This moog is great for bass and lead.. please peep my moog gear demo!
Bernie takes it to a higher level...such display of funkyness...
R.I.P. Bernie Worrell, thank you for your genius, you will be missed ! 1 of my all time top five keyboard players !
mine too RIP 😓 🎛🎹🎛🎚👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻he tore it up, as always
I just saw/heard him for the first time and he's already my favourite.
@@boyracer3000 check out his amazing work with parliament, Funkadelic (P-Funk), with Bill Laswell, Talkin Heads etc.
Whooo! Bernie Worrell, the Funky Grand Master Synth Scientist!

That bit when Bernie is playing intervals is AWESOME
He is lightyears ahead of any living organism..King of keys Da Vince Worrel...
k___g___ b___ Agreed! What were those, 4ths?👇🎹⬇️
i can hear that kinda stuff in cory henry solo on lingus. always be caught offguard everytime hear it.
Bernie Worrell is killing it !
If nothing else, I'm thankful for this video introducing me to Dr. Lonnie Smith.
sartoriusrock Check out “Summer Night” from his earlier days... lol trust me
RIP Bernie Worrell
Mr. Reinterpret Cast RIP 🎛🎹🎛🎛🎚😓 bless bernie!!!!
I got Bernie's part on loop, such a quirky funky jam! Awesome
Bernie Worrell was PHENOMENAL! Best out of everyone.
+madjimms Total agreement!
Yeah! Started with workin day n night!!
the boss
madjimms YES, they changed the , " attack" to an immediate setting , also using an additional keyboard. what you think Stevie Wonder can't Jam do you actually not know? And dr. Lonnie Smith shit that guy can absolutely blow your mind let's see you jam with him.
Amazing! Please peep my Demo of this cool unit
Bernie's killin' it. Badass.
All these legends were off the chain. I never heard of Dr Lonnie Smith before. I need to find some his music.
Linwood Edwards Jr check out the afrodisia album. His work with George Benson and all is amazing!
Back in the day he was Lonnie Liston Smith. Look him up.
drwood1962 They’re two different people. :) Dr Lonnie Smith is the soul-jazz organist. Lonnie Liston Smith plays Rhodes, led the Cosmic Echoes, and is the originator of Chill-Jazz.
Dr Smith is the MAN. Responsible for the original version of Jay-z Dead President's sample
Linwood Edwards Jr Love Beams
Getting to watch Stevie Wonder play live would be just about the most amazing thing. Then also getting to see guy's from P-funk and other funk synth pioneers play OMG.
My generation needs to respect these guys. They really opened the doors for us and this is true raw talent. Much respect 💯
Larry Dunn beasted. I can't stop listening to this either. The audio quality on this is insanely pure
0:48 "I want it"
*Takes It*
Well that explains why its gone in the next shot
I love it! please peep my demo!
He wants it he needs it to make him feel heated
Lonnie Smiths facial expressions are priceless!!! Gotta love all these great really having some fun!
That was awesome but i couldn't help but notice how many people were ignoring Stevie Wonder. Bahh! I would've loved to be there.
I concur!
+Arnold Cifax Jr I was thinking the same thing! They must think the think the talent comes from the machine rather than The Man:)
Thats like the first thing I saw. Ill be like wtf.
Yeah I noticed that, and thought to myself what a rare treat to see him toy around with it.
It’s not a Stevie wonder show so they might have seen him in other sections trying out other instruments.
Bernie f*****g nailed it! :D
Bernie Worrell at the end just sold me on this synth. Thank you Bernie Mr P funk!
Bernie Worrell,.....Bad dude! I hate he's gone, but glad that he left his unparalleled work for us to enjoy and marvel over! Bad dude!!!
4 legends, playing legendary gear
Love Stevie's funky bassline sound and also think that Bernie's 80's style disco/Hi-NRG groove is amazing too!!!!!!!! So I guess those two just slayed the other ones!!!!!
Jay G It is too hard for me to narrow it down to a particular favorite. I just cant get enough of Bernie's sound . I want to study it as though its a language to decipher but not in words.
oh shit Bernie murdered it.
A real gathering of great musicians , eccentrics and analog synths. Love it :)
Ben Copland MOOG
It's great to see all the legends playing the keyboards dr. Lonnie Smith Stevie Wonder Bernie Worrell so on and so forth but no one holds a candle to doctor George Bernard Worrell R I P-FUNK ❤😢🙏
P-funk is in the house!
"Father of acid jazz"
That dude looks like he bathes in LSD
...We should hang out.
Sssh, they did. Talk to Bootsy Collins and he'll give stories of back in the day on how they created their unique sound.
Bernie at 2:58 is amazing.
I agree!
geosoultwelve boss level in a Nintendo game😂😂😂
@@markanthonyhiggins1872 lmfao glad im not the only one thinking that
This video could be titled, "The funkiest men on Earth". I just loved this!
Bernie sounds badass making it sound polyphonic with 2. If only I could afford 2 sub phattys!! Well shit, I cant afford one sub phatty.
Friends?..that was Larry Dunn from Earth Wind and Fire..a legend within his own right.
The best promo video ever made for any product. I come back about once a year to watch this.
Whomever gave this video a "thumbs down" doesn't appreciate history, art, talent & masterminds.......
Funk on Bernie!!
bernie owns it
Bernie killed it
It's great to hear this synth actually being played as an instrument, rather than the sequenced dance stuff most demos feature. I've not yet decided between this little guy or a Source. If the Sub had more keys, it'd be a no-brainer.
The Sub 37 starts shipping in August. Exact same synth, more knobs, and 37 keys. I've got my order in already. :)
thats why they made the sub37 I guess....
Connect a bigger keyboard to it. I believe it can do that.
It could accept an external keyboard to control it. Like an 88 key midi keyboard with weighted keys and all that jazz if you wanted.
You obviously have no brain if that's your deciding factor! News Flash: you can add any external MIDI keyboard you fancy.
Very cool! I love Moog's synths played by musicians
Bernie is the man! Loved the stuff he did with Praxis and C2B3. Rest his soul.
Dr. Lonnie Smith's face after the tech shows him a control (for the filter I think) and he adjusts it and speeds up... 1:00
All the LEGENDS in one place !! Great footage
Rest in peace B. you always had funny stories and showed me love @ NAMM. It felt empty this year without you!
Bernie "Woo" Worrall was the main musical force of Parliament/Funkadelic. He even wrote stuff for the guitar players. Big Ups, Bernie.
Awesome post! I really liked Stevie Wonder's spur of the moment prog rock excursion, but the other three guys were great as well. I didn't realize that the Moog was so prominent in mid - late 70s Parliament/Funkadelic.
Dude at the end killed it
chris bribiescas of course!!!!! RiP bernie
Whoa Bernie .. standout ....
BERNIE JUST COSMIC KILLING IT 💫
Dope!! Love and respect these dudes...!!
April Del Castillo BERNIE!!!!!!!!!! rip 🎛🎹🎛🎚💚🐛
I absolutely love the sub bass capabilities of the Phatty.
Aaah, Bernie! One of the dudes who invented the concept of Synth Bass playing!
Stevie used Synth Bass before Bernie... Probably the first to do it.
If Roger Troutman was alive today...
ooooohhhh yeah that would go down
Oh my he'd be making us dance all over that thang!
Outstanding!
Good bye Bernie Worrell :'(
awwww !
ik 😓 🎛🎹🎛🎚best ever
RIP Bernie Worrell.............
That was great! RIP Bernie Worrell and Lonnie Smith.
All of these guys are legends. But they know who the closer is. Rip Bernie...
Wow, so many living legends putting some great gear to the test. Thanks Moog!
Worrell smashes it!!!
When Stevie Wonder plays, you shut up and listen.
such a joyful sound lol
Dr. Lonnie Smith is just... damn. Those double handed bits on the subphatty oooh my god
Bernie Worrell was the one I really liked. @ 2:46 he got into and 3:13 was just awesome.
Larry Dunn started out funky and went to a nother level and came back to funk. Just a master on the keys.
Hey! It's Dr. Lonnie Smith. I saw him play once. What a great night that was. He's amazing. That was epic. All of them, just great musicians.
MY GOD, HOW I LOVE THIS TUNES
When the acid (jazz) hits you 1:01
HAHAHAHA !
+Harry D. Hahahahahahahahahaha
holy shit i'm on the fucking floor
haha nice one zeebo
this comment is gold
This is the most groove I've ever seen in a product demo! great!!
Hahaha, for real. Usually with those product demos, when the demo guys are playing clavinet sounds or any other sounds used for funk and soul, they're playing generic grooves. This demo had real funk.
I love the way larry dun goes to take off with it. I would do the same. Epic
All legends! R.I.P Bernie
2:58 boss level in a Super Nintendo game🔥😂🔥
watching this for the 1000th time
Bernie..!!
Bernie Warrel didn't jam... he created music with it! Beautiful!!
SYNTHWAY Dude, where do you get access to all the synths on your videos?🙃you work at Perfect Circuit?⚛️
bernie worrell very at home playing that setup. sounds so cool
One of the best sounds ever.
Watching this video for the first time and seeing Bernie Worrell inspired me to buy one of these. Had the opportunity to open for him and due to contract issues we were unable to. Never got to see him live but such an inspiration RIP Bernie
Larry Dunn is a Beast!!!
wow Dr. Lonnie Smith lovin' that.
My god at the talent right there. Wow!
Bernie Worrell woow, amazing, so fresh
At first I read: MOOG: thank you for paying. lol
Bernie's session was ill!!
well that was an absolute delight
Ohhh Bernie is a teaser!!! at 3:42 we were waiting for the blues end, the man throw a hint and then laugh!! We miss you....
Bernie. Oh man, he was so good. Didn't know his name, but when I looked him up, realized he was the keyboardist in some of my favourite live recordings. I can't wait to get my hands on my Sub, so for a moment I can pretend I can do a fraction of what he can do with his pinky...
So dope seeing the legends on the boards.....excellent vid
Bernie Worrell is just jammin 🤙🏻✌🏻
Amazing musicians and playing all around!
Geniuses at work!
Love how much they seemed to be enjoying the devices!
Rip Bernie
BERNIE!!!! The Wizard of Woo
I know there’s like 50million Bernie comments but he’s so good I’m compelled to make another one... he’s amazing!
I'm liking the v formation. Very ergonomic. Very cool that you put this up. I'm especially glad that you got more footage of Bernie Worrell up. I was hoping to see him with the sub phatty since it was announced.
@3:00 thought it was Pink Floyd. That was sweet jam spread across two boards. Thank you Mr. Worrel
I am stunned that people in the background are talking and looking at their phoned whilst Stevie' F**king' Wonder is playing right next to them.
