I guess im asking randomly but does anyone know a trick to log back into an instagram account?? I stupidly forgot the account password. I would love any help you can give me
@Cullen Austin I really appreciate your reply. I found the site thru google and I'm trying it out now. Looks like it's gonna take a while so I will get back to you later with my results.
That's so interesting! I feel like this kind of therapy could be really helpful in a lot of contexts, for example I have a friend who works at a juvenile psych hospital and they said that many kids recover well and get stabilized but once they go home they can't maintain it in that context and get re-hospitalized. If the folks at the hospital looked at the family from a systems perspective they might have better luck keeping kids at home...
Hi Bri! Thank you for sharing that. I absolutely love this career, so I’m excited to hear that you’re interested in it. Please let me know any topics that would help you in your journey. ♥️
Thank you so much! I earned my bachelors of arts in psychology, August 2020, took some time off to focus on my own mental health and this year I’m ready to get back to it! This is what I want to do 💓💓
I’m graduating high school this year. I’m pretty passionate about being a marriage and family therapist but the amount of school time and pay, make me want to reconsider
Great video! As an MFT student, I found your video very informative. Thank you for the breakdown of MFT. Often times it can be confusing as to the difference between MHC & MFT although MHC take systemic courses. It made the difference between the two very clear. Thank you
Hi Shannon Salgado, could you please do me a favor and send me MFT course materials including course outline and the handbook if you have. Thank you very much!! Email: Afcas2018@gmail.com
Omg omg! Hiii Steph!! So I graduated Spring 2020 with a journalism degree. These past months I've been listening to my hearts desires and now I'm making the pivot to counseling. This video was so brilliant for me because I've been highly focused on holistic mental health counseling but this video has really shed light on how my interest/focus (transforming relationships and cultivating healthier connections) is more aligned with a MFT program. Idk why I neverrrr actually looked at the MHT programs.. I think it's because of the myth you shared in the beginning of this video. Anyways, I appreciate you being the one to pop that bubble lol. Now I'm expandingggg. Thanks sooo much sistarrrr. I subscribed 🤩
This video was very helpful. Thank you for taking the time to break it down for us. I'm still trying to decide which route to take for grad school. Keep up the good work!
Very interested in hearing about the different models. I’m reading a book that give a great overview however I LOVE the way you explain thing and it would be awesome to hear it from you... even adding your perspective and opinion 🤗

thank you for this im a speech pathologist working in the juvenile halls..my intervention as a speech pathologist isn't beneficial when the students are experiencing adverse experiences within the home and community. so im looking into counseling programs. but this video helped put things into perspective bc most of the youth are in gangs...so I couldn't help but think about how each student functions within that system and how they contribute...but the problems and trauma that arises from being a member in those systems. of course gangs are a result of poverty so there are concerns with scarcity and lack of resources but this helped develop that perspective so thank you!
Thank you for that I am a psych major who grew up with a lot of family problems around me. I used to be a forensic psychologist now I feel like I’m being compelled to help myself and other families become more healthier and not perfect
Thank you for explaining your conception about MFT. I really enjoyed the simplicity of your insights. I also feel that (after your explanation) I really made the right decision to pursue my MAMFT. Thank you very much.
Thank you for this explanation. My soul lit up as you explained MFT. This video is like confirmation to my decision to pursue a career as a LMFT. So glad I came across your channel ❤️
I got matched to a therapist who’s a MFT. After listening to this whole video idk if I should ask for another. I have childhood trauma, social anxiety, have trouble building and maintaining relationships, an avoidant attatchment style…. I really need someone to help me work through these issues and I’m not sure what do 😢
This is the most informative video I’ve watched on Marriage and Family therapist. I did not know MFTs also worked with individuals, and now I’m wondering if an MFT is the best therapist for me to see to explore childhood trauma.
Thank you so much for these videos!! I love the way you break these things down so I can understand some of these concepts better!!! I also love that you were an NCU student such as myself!! I was hoping that you can make a video that will give a better understanding of theories such as solution-focused and Strategic theories. Much appreciated!!!

Listening to this I am thinking that a need another therapist or at least another therapist adjust my MFT. I have trauma issues that are so side apart from what is currently happening in my current life.
Excellent! well explained. Quick question, what should a good therapist be doing during first session with a couple? Some tips please. If that's okay, I would like some resources on Solution Focused Therapy with Couples. Thanks
Hi such an excellent and thorough video!!!! I am working on my master in MSW. I would like more information if possible as you mentioned in your video!!!
I am considering making a career shift to counseling so I am trying to learn some of the basics to help me decide. Would you be able to recommend a book or two for me to start out with?
This was really helpful. I’m training in the Uk and we use different job titles - family therapist or systemic psychotherapist. I’m curious in the US is the term psychotherapist inclusive of family therapist or more aligned to other therapy domains eg psychodynamic?
Focusing on the interpersonal and seeing the context of one's behavior as a system makes a lot of sense. So then does going to a non "MFT" therapist mean they won't approach therapy from this perspective?
Hi Dave! Considering problems from a systemic perspective is pretty counter to what we naturally learn in problem assessment even as children. It’s very hard to unlearn linear causality. MFTs can find it difficult to create treatment plans through this lens even though it is typically ingrained into our curriculum throughout grad school. I wouldn’t say that it’s impossible for other mental health providers to aim for this, but I’d imagine it would be difficult without the training. I hope that answers your question.
Hey! I just finish my degree in psychology and want to major in family and marriage therapy, can this be done on line and any suggestion of the institution tha offer that especially in Africa
I have always thought it is stupid to use the term “Marriage” in the title of a profession like this. In the U.K. it’s called Family & Systemic Psychotherapist.
Hey Steph Anya! Do you have a video that categorizes which marriage and family models are Modern and which are Postmodern? I know that you often mention which is which when you make specific videos, but I am looking more for a simple Table or Chart - like comparison between all of the therapy models. I Googled it but haven't seen anything like this that shows Modern versus Postmodern. Instead, Tables, Charts, and Videos seem to have all of the other information. I just thought it would be helpful to keep things straight in my mind. If not, I may end up reviewing all your videos and make one myself. LOL. Thanks! Love your videos!
