You're doing fine buddy. I know what you're going through and how you say you're not happy with yourself.
We are our own worst critics. And I do know what you mean about getting old.
Enjoy each and every moment of your life.
Keith
Looks fantastic!
We just painted our 70 camaro Red last weekend. Going to buy and buff this weekend. Torch Red with White Stripes
I see you had a 73 that looked pretty rough 12 years ago. Overall I am happy with the paint on this car. It's not show quality, but a driver doesn't have to be.
Don’t beat yourself up, I have been in your position and know it’s easy to do. Looks great…. and 90% of people would have no idea. You should be proud of that car, it well deserved. Great job!
I have wet sanded and buffed the doors and are much happier with them. It shines like a diamond in the sun. I am proud of everything except that door. It's just a door so we can redo it in a few years during winter maybe. I can't wait to get it on the road.
Dude, that car looks amazing!
Thanks, it was a lot of work.
@@mossman381 I had a 71 Camaro super sport back in the day with the original cranberry red paint. I wish I still did.
Looks good
Awesome work bud!
Great video.
Looks really good Randy. The paint makes any weakness in your body prep stick out like a sore thumb. Those ridges like that on the door are very hard to get right. Time consuming. Anytime you gain by haste always gets more than ate up by rework time. You won't be alone in that boat.
Reference perfection: Perfection leads to paralysis. If you are seeking perfection, you will be chasing it all your life but never find it. A show car with metallic paint needs to be a lot closer to perfection than a driver with opaque paint anyway. Good job.
I like that perfection reference. For most it's unattainable. Priority was getting the car done this year. It's just a door so it can be redone in a few years during winter maybe. I am happier with the doors after a wet sand and buff. It shines like a diamond in the sun. Can't wait to get it on the road. Probably next weekend.
@@mossman381 When the bodywork transitions from skill to art is when I pay someone else to do it.
It look's good Randy...
It shines like a diamond in the sun. Can't wait to get it back on the road.
Randy, I know the car would like different than what we see through your camera but from here it looks great!
The doors aren't perfect but I am ok with them after some wet sanding and buffing. Getting this car on the road this year was priority. Doors can be reworked in a few years during winter. It shines like a diamond in the sun. Can't wait to get this thing on the road. Should be driving it next weekend. It seems weird walking into the shop seeing it painted. The car has been in the shop for over 20 years. It was a body and pile of parts at one point. To see it painted and about a week away from being on the road again is awesome. I didn't know if it was ever going to happen.
Car looks great I wish I had your talents
Been working on the car so much it's hard to get on here and respond to comments. The car is coming together. Not going to be perfect like I have said before but we are going to be proud to drive it around.
@@mossman381 you will definitely be proud of that car
That is going to be a sweet ride
I can't wait to get this thing on the road. I wet sanded and buffed the doors and are much happier with them. Still not perfect but in the sun it shines like a diamond.
Looks great man love that color
It was the right color choice.
Looks great! Watching this makes me want to hurry up and get back on the K10 ;)
You were so close to getting that truck done before the tree. Made me sick seeing it get damaged.
@@mossman381 Me too :(
Nice.
Thanks!
I think it looks awesome. But I never saw a 70-73 I didn't think was beautiful, whatever shape it's in. I been building (and autocrossing) these cars for near 50 years. 3 coats of clear, wet sand several steps 800, 1200, 2000, 3000 and buffing I bet it will look show quality. As long as I've been working on cars, I painted my son's car 2 years ago, and even for a first timer I couldn't believe how well it turned out, even with several newb mistakes.
They are good looking cars. I have wet sanded and buffed the doors and are happier with them. It shines like a diamond in the sun. Can't wait to get this car on the road.
Not bad. Car looks good. From what I could see from your video, it looked like you didn’t have enough material coming out of the gun. All in all she looks pretty damn good.
I wouldn't want more paint coming out. My disappointment was the doors needed more work. Actually, they really needed new skins. Might do that someday but for now it's fine. It's not a $100k show car.
Probably nobody will notice the door except you. I understand how you feel, I redid my front bumper cover 3 times because I didn't like how it turned out. I still don't like it, but most people don't notice my mistakes and I am good with that.
Most people won't notice it. I am happier with the doors after a wet sand and buff. It is just a door so we can work on it in a couple years in the winter maybe. It shines like a diamond in the sun. Can't wait to get it on the road again.
👍
Can't wait to get this thing driving down the road.
@@mossman381 going to turn some heads
What paint did you use
