✪ GAME SUMMARY
Baldur's Gate 3 is a 2023 role-playing video game developed and published by Larian Studios. The game is the third main installment in the Baldur's Gate series, based on the tabletop role-playing system of Dungeons & Dragons. Baldur's Gate 3 has single-player and cooperative multiplayer elements. Players can create one or more characters and form a party along with a number of pre-generated characters to explore the game's story.
Unlike previous games in the Baldur's Gate series, Baldur's Gate 3 has turn-based combat, similar to Larian's earlier games Divinity: Original Sin and Divinity: Original Sin II; all combat is based on the Dungeons & Dragons 5th Edition rules
Baldur's Gate 3 takes place in the fictional world of the Forgotten Realms during the year of 1492 DR, over 120 years after the events of the previous game, Baldur's Gate II: Shadows of Amn, and months after the events of the playable Dungeons & Dragons 5e module, Baldur's Gate: Descent into Avernus.

it is a very rare combination for someone new to this, to pick tactician difficulty, dark urge and male drow barbarian. or to even bother with playing the companion introductions. I think this will be an awesome playthrough.

I played my first game with the dark urge, I didn't understand it'd be so drastic lol
The narrator was actually a character in Divinity Original Sin 2 and everyone loved her voice, that's probably why she got the most important part in BG3. She's incredibly good, and a D&D player herself.
she's got such a great voice holy moly like having her talk to us this whole time is going to be so good. Remember how immersed I got with Geralt talking to himself in W3 I feel like this game may take it to another level of immersion. I don't recognize any of the voices so far from other games besides the one I picked for our character but seriously the line up feel so start studded.
Also I've a feeling this game will make me wanna try Larians other games like Divinity. I actually got them all on GoG I got a really great deal a year back for the whole series even the really old ones.

The actors from this game are a lot of fun. Many of them have actually started streaming their own playthroughs of BG3! They also played real D&D for like 4 hours with an experienced DM, that video is a lot of fun as well!
And Larian is like the best game development company out there. Quick responses to community feedback, a CEO who is deeply invested in the quality of the game more than profitability, amazing pricing and customer-friendly practices, AAA game quality. They're a freaking unicorn.
wait wow!!! I hear it now that's so cool I didn't realize but goodness he sure did a good job with his voice in this game just from the little bit we heard and then in future EPs but wow. Pretty amazing how much D & D brings out the best and bring us all together its literally such a great game from so long back and we all still love it to this day.
Cant wait to finally play a Larian game I've heard so much great things about this company and finally get to see one first hand.

The narrator actually recorded various versions for each direction your character goes personality wise. More wicked, more kind, for Karlach more badass and so on. Its a masterpiece in these details.

In case you haven't heard yet, BG3 won Game of the Year 2023. Also, Astarion's actor won Best Performance. Both well-deserved, in my opinion!
It may have been brought up in the live premiere but wow that's amazing and honestly I sense it already. After recording just a few episodes this game is unbelievable. And the voice acting is so well done. And motions capture as well.
Woah, I never seen anyone ever disarm Commander Zhalk to steal his blade. That's such a good strategy if you want his blade without having to waste the time to kill him.
honestly when ever we get a chance I wanna use that ability it seems so strong, I wanna use the one were they drop to the ground too lol sounds hilarious.
@@Bowskiiit's a good spell. They have to fail the save but yes command is a good spell.
In d and d it can be any 1 word command as long as it isn't directly harmful to it.
I'm a big fan of CC type spells in games and de buffers they are always some of my favs
It's the best way to get the sword in tactician imo. I've found it very difficult to actually kill him for it above balanced difficulty.
@talmanes4589 I had to create a 2 person multiplayer game so I had all 4 people, and it still took me multiple attempts to kill him.

THIS IS GONNA BE THE BEST BLIND LET'S PLAY OF BALDUR'S GATE 3 EVER MADE !! (For anyone in the future who is looking for a LP to watch 😉). Finally, I can make a premiere!! Your character looks epic, I knew you would put some effort into that! Playstation Plus had a 2 hour trial, and I spent almost 40 minutes on the character creation part, 😂. But I didn't even come close to a cool looking character as this. Looking forward to every episode of this LP!

And I think it took me around 25-30 mins to make the character I kind of had something in mind but I didn't fully know until I got in but then when I got it I just wanted to use all the settings lol. Cant wait to pump these EPs out this game is going to be awesome.

Ooooo you are in for such a treat! My first BG3 character was a fem seldarine drow dark urge, draconic bloodline sorcerer. It was AMAZING. I’m utterly obsessed and excited to watch someone else enjoy it as well ❤

You are the first person I have watched who actually sat and watched all the introductions, And you picked dark urge, I applaud you sir.
I loved the introductions. They were def well done and gave us some insight on the people in the game. And dark urge sounded so interesting and it def has been alittle crazy so far lmao.
oh and few tips':
- equip those crossbows or bows you find on everyone immediately. (strength based character can even equip heavier crossbows) if you cant get to enemies for melee it's always good to have ranged attack option and it does decent damage. Even mages should have some bow/crossbow equipped, if you run out of spells/spell slots you can still do some sort of attack and not waste a turn :)
- unchaining someone from the group in the left side bar like you did with Shadowheart at 1:26:06 makes them not walk after you. you can ungroup everyone from each other. it's useful if you want to move people one by one in dangerous terrain, or only explore smth with one person, or not have companions step in the wrong thing etc.. ungrouping them is basically like telling them to hold...
ahhh nice ok thank you for the tips! I feel like I will def need some at times it sure can be overwhelming since its my first CRPG but I'm so excited to do this. I will def put a crossbow in our slot so we have it just in case we need it.
I´d say, that ungrouping is most useful for setting up a fight. You can set up your party on advantageous positions, not have them all walk up to enemies in a formation begging to get nuked by aoe. Putting ranged characters or squishy casters on elevated positions if possible, even better if these positions are hard to approach. If enemies are not hostile to begin with, walking your melee beast up to their squishy caster, etc. Rarely would I walk up to a fight, with all the characters in follow mode.

Just entered Act 3 on my own first playthrough and both can't wait to keep going _and_ already want to make a new character and play completely differently to see alternative paths, a real struggle 😄 Game is so dang good.

So far this game is really great I feel like its going to take a bit of a learning curve but I'm excited to try. I never mind tips and such as long as it isn't spoilers I always welcome feedback.
I am only 17 minutes in, but I have to tell you how much of a breath of fresh air you are. I have been watching quite a few people try Baldur's Gate 3 for the first time, and sooo many people won't even take the 2 minutes it takes to somewhat comprehend the game.
It is so lovely to see you really connect with and understand everything before you even decide on a character.

@@Bowskii THE CC is great. I only wish they had facial sliders too, not just head presents (which is why I use mods that add more variety of presets) but that is probably my only complaint everything else is perfect and there are actually a lot of choices, and characters and graphics really look amazing! I was NOT expecting big burly barbarian drow it's probably most unique and rare combo hehe :) and can't wait to see how tactician is going :)
Lol I'm a sucker for playing rare stuff in games if I can. Back in the day I played D&D as a warrior/paladin type I'm gonna try my best to replicate our character with how I remember my first ever character created back in the 90s early 2000s.
But I really liked the CC as well It wasn't overwhelming and kinda easy not many options so I can def see why adding stuff via mods will be unique as since there weren't many options. But I really love the character I created he's so cool.
oh yeah he deff looks cool just in the screenshot already, love the eyes too! and I definitely DON'T recommend using mods just yet. because Larian is still actively updating game and new patches and hotfixes are constantly dropping, if you use mods every time a new hotfix drops they get broken and you have to wait till all the mods are updated to play again, and even than smth can not work properly, so it's a damn hassle and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone 🤣 anyway this is all less important than amazing gameplay and characters that this game has :) good luck with your rolls!
Goodness I'm always so scared to use mods won't lie. I can definitely see myself modding this game up after my first playthrough probably as much as I mod Dragon Age on my off camera runs.
And those eyes are so cool. I know I just made him but he's already one of my favorite characters I've created. I love dark elves in games. Meaning the dark side type of elves.
And lol 🤣 dice rolls will make things dicey for sure.

There's actually an achievement for killing the big devil at the helm, but it's really tough to do on tactician. Good thinking with the command though! That sword is one of the strongest early game weapons.
darn it!! I wish I would have gotten that one. It seems like such a hard fight and I just straight up rolled out lmao. Glad we got his sword at least holy moly if we didn't get that I bet that mind flayer would have died so quick and he probably would have destroyed us al. Fun combat so far and def gonna be challenging.

I absolutely can’t wait! Discovered your channel a couple months ago and have been binging on the playthroughs. I’m amazed at the detail and knowledge you bring, and you RP so well I find myself nodding in agreement, even when I’ve personally done the opposite in games. You make working 3rd shift a little more fun, and finally, someone that agrees that Dragon Age 2 is the best!

I won't be following too closely yet because I'm still on my normal playthrough (150 hours, middle of Act 3), but I'll be looking forward to new episodes for sure since I plan on starting the Durge after I finish the current game!

Wow ! I love how in details you go into the game and the dialogue ! I haven’t seen that before in others UA-camrs, I’m 160 hours into my first playthrough, I’m exploring EVERYTHING, this game is a true masterpiece ! I started as a Druid and changed into a warlock now ( wanted to be able to learn ALL the spells 😅) I never subbed so fast after a video and I’m so excited to see this game through your experience ! ⚔️

as someone who LOVES this game, I'm only 10 minutes into this video and I'm already so happy that he's taking his time and not rushing. While I do 'eye roll' at people who always choose the hardest level with every new game, I'm quite chuffed at this video so far ^_^

Enjoy the rest of the series and yeah it's a hobby of mine to play all games on the highest difficulty. I do it for the immersion and not the challenge oddly as playing games on tougher difficulty makes us dive deep into characters we make. And no worries I don't bad mouth games or anything on camera I'm a positive person and like to keep it that way for myself and the viewers.
The game was tough at first since it has a high learning curve but new EPs all fights are an absolute breeze sadly I'm hoping it gets harder.

during ur next playthroughs (which im sure gonna be many), dont sleep on the male guardian. his voice actor is something else. probably one of the most attractive voices ive ever heard. and this is saying something as this game has a lot of attractive voices. :D

Lol class and dark urge was all me. The race however was voted in from a community poll I put on the channel a week or so ago. But I'm glad it seems to have worked out because I'm all for dark type elves and lore in games.
@Bowskii you're in for a treat. All the races have various reactivity from people in the world, and Drow have some of the best. Dark Urge is also an amazing story thats got its own whole thing going on. Its a Great combo. I like the video by the way. You're a good streamer.

I like how in details you are and exploring everything. That's how you can properly appreciate this very detailed game and absorbs the world. Most content creator always just run down everything, it's not wrong, they can enjoy however they want. But I think this is the way.

That woman in the pod gave me mad Mass effect 2 flashbacks…the fact that she looks exactly like Kelly Chambers can’t be a coincidence. Also, after you said it I couldn’t help but imagine Shadowheart yell “Firing high impact shot!” As she brings the hammer down.

I'm really excited that you picked the Dark Urge. It's a great choice for both very evil playthroughs and good ones (but so is any option in the game). You're probably picking up on some of the narration that is unique to this origin, since it's one made by the developers it's more tailor-made than if you were to make your own (but again, the options in this game are insane anyway). I look forward to seeing where your character goes. One of the great things about BG3 is that you can actually be straight up evil (or morally grey), unlike a lot of other RPGs out there. It's a game that says "yes" as much as possible. Whenever you have a crazy idea that wouldn't work in any other game - feel free to try it anyway! You might be surprised.
the urge is going to def make our character really interesting. I feel like we have so many possibilities for RP with out character even though we did kind of pick a premade background. And lol I'm starting to already see the levels of crazy ideas and possibilities with this game. We can freaking throw bodies at people in combat lol that so crazy and id imagine we could probably do so much more things.
@@Bowskii I think you have chosen poorly for a first blind playthrough. The dark urge makes the game harder and will take away choices in certain actions given its backstory. I want to avoid spoilers but well simply by playing them you have killed characters later in the game.
@@liamwarner5749I disagree. My first playthrough was the dark urge and it was amazing to see the mystery unfold over the course of the game. I don’t feel like I missed out on anything and from watching playthroughs with the custom Tav character, the dark urge is vastly more interesting and intertwined with the story. People can play the game however they want, that’s why it is such a great game 😂
@@grymmoire Oh don't misunderstand me I'm not saying its a bad story, just that its a bad choice for the first time playing through as it does make the game that bit harder. There is more I could say but I've already reached the limits of what I was willing to spoil. I don't believe it impacts anything major but there are minor characters who will die as a result of him playing it.
@@liamwarner5749 there’s only one character that dies outside of your control and it’s very early in the game. Any other deaths are because of player choices and it’s very clear that you’re making the choice for them to die. I’m just saying that I think it’s a fine choice for a first playthrough, I don’t really see how it makes the game harder.

Be sure to go into your "reactions" tab and set your reactions to "approve" currently they are on automatic. This helps when in battles, basically this allows you to chose if and when you want to use reaction abilities.

@@Bowskii I know you said you wanted to do a (blind) playthrough, but give some serious thought to maybe looking up one of those BG3 videos titles "10 things I wish I knew before starting to play Baldur's Gate 3".
The majority of these videos don't have any spoilers in them, just tips that help making the game mechanics more accessible.
But hey, looking at the comment section here you'll most likely get more tips there.

Hahaha we finally made it!! I'm so excited for it. I'm glad you like the character so far he's really awesome I really enjoyed the character creation part of the game. And honestly I love the uniqueness of our character. A big buff warrior type elf is so cool. It's definitely usually the other way around for elves.

Nice! Glad to have you on board for the journey through BG3 and most definitely BG3 and RDR2 will get a lot of love each. I think at this point we would probably end up beating RDR2 first since we are probably halfway at this point. But I'm excited for both.

- oh wow, so not only barbarian Drow but also a Dark Urge???? oh yeah this will be EPIC!!! I didn't understand what Dark Urge is when I was starting the game so I didn't pick it.. watched a little bit of Urge playthrough later by some friends.. and it's really cool backstory. it adds really interesting subplot and dimension to a game I wish I chose. my second playthrough I will definitely play Urge. and in combination with a Drow, who already have challenges of their own, it fits so perfectly. the world will react to you being a drow too so that's also an extra challenge. things will get interesting for sure :)
- You did so amazing in combat too, changing Shadowheart's spell into command to get that sword was spot on, most don't figure it out so fast.. I knew you'll do good on tactician! 👍 Just keep scum saving lol
- The Narrator is amazing and magical Amelia Tyler and she makes the game so much batter and immersive I adore her voice. and yeah she's always narrating but you playing as Urge are having some lines I never heard with my OC. it's so interesting. you are also getting dialogue options for strength based character I never saw. Like I saw 3 different ways to open Shadowheart's pod but I didn't know you can rip it open 🤣 it will be cool to see different details in your game.
- LOL I laughed so hard when Ari decided to take randomly stop and take off his purple panties in the middle of combat and lost all his actions and rage too because of it 🤣🤣🤣 enemies must've been confused too hahaha
I'm actually happy as hell the community voted for Drow because I love the way our character looks! And honestly I never usually play a bad character on my first run so trying to resist this urge we got going on is going to be so cool of a story. What ever screen it took me to def helped me out to look at the abilities I was trying to go the the inventory and was able to find the spell page. The command spell is gonna get used so much. Any and every one is gonna be dropping those weapons and lol the spell also makes them lay down on the ground it said that's so freaking cool.
The narrator is doing such a good job already I cant wait to just listen to her all game. Ripping that pod open was awesome lol a barb that has no intelligence but has the brute strength. And lmao Ari getting nekked in combat and losing our rage was the highlight of the combat.
Love this game so far I'm a bit addicted already I see why it won so many awards and its just the tutorial lmao.
Bowskii what's up!! sorry I'm a few days late to the party man I had to get the game and get going on it myself. I'm having an absolute blast with it, what a start! I ended up playing as a Half-Elf Bard it's been super interesting. Like you said, not a class you get to often play in games so that intrigued me. Your character looks badass af. Also the Dark Urge backstory I didn't even consider, but now that I really think about it it sounds so cool and interesting. I'm really glad you picked it so I can see it.
We'll be learning together as we go on this one which feels so different from the mass effect series. I have to remember to stay out of the comments. You've already taught me so much, your curiosity and thoroughness is just unmatched. Making Commander Zhalk drop that sword was a stroke of pure genius damn I wish I had done that! Hello my friend and welcome to BG3!! This game is amazing so far riiiight!! I heard so many great things but to actually play it is another story. Your character sounds awesome a Half Elf Bard fits so well. I got some plans for Bard actually and cant wait. But you shall see as the EPs go on.
Getting him to drop that sword was crazy because I was just thinking about keeping that mind flayer alive but with what some of the commenters are saying tis a rare sword lol. I know one thing I will be using that ability was more as we go.

the blade seems serous I take a closer look at it next EP but it going to really fit well on our Barb. Absolutely bad ass ability though the command spell I can vaguely remember spells from m y time playing D&D which def helped ease into this game.
"I always play Chaotic", "Two classes that jump out, a Paladin" those two sentences could not be more opposite...lol
It's good to be different I love opposite things best way to play games. Makes for a unique experience. Every one always does the same stuff in games or in life stepping outside our boxes is living my friend.

Lol I just couldn't wait I wanted to play a game like this so badly for so long it's definitely the time. As odd as it sounds I feel like Dragon Age Origins made me understand this game really quickly. Or at least give me some muscle memory. Different combat but kinda the same in a way.
And I'm stoked for it I wanna get a great schedule going for both active games on the channel and a good consistent flow of videos once again now that I'm fully healthy and ready to rock.

Well... I was sooo hyped when I saw this go up, an then you decide to Dark Urge and I'm even more hyped. Saw your Witcher 3 playthrough and it was glorious! But... 😂 I love how you call that one character “ma’am” 😂😂 I tried to watch other LPs of this and I was just left super confused lol I think it’s probably cuz you’re still learning as well (even tho you do have experience with dnd) but idk like my point is that you’re just playing at a pace that my brain can follow 😂 I’m not into these types of games but this is an enjoyable playthrough and look forward to the next one 😄

There can be alot to take in and someone's experience can differ from all the choices.
I was surprised by the good choices you made here in a blind run, including the Everburn blade maneuver.
I'm glad we got that blade heck I was feeling hitting him with some sort of CC was a great move since he was really giving it to that mind flayer but we got a bad ass blade outta the deal. Would have loved to actually kill that boss wish I didn't have to run away. Next time I play I'm gonna try better to actually get him down.

Oh man, seeing someone who doesn't play DnD work their way through the tutorial made it hit home just how much of an advantage I had starting out.
hahah its def a challenge for sure but I love it. My basic knowledge of D&D does me no justice sadly lol
Barbarian is in my opinion the coolest class in this game, there are so many fun builds you can do with it, you can do a throwing build, where you throw spears at the enemy, or you can do a melee damage build or you can do a tank build. the throwing build is really fun.
I'm loving the Barb so far I feel like we can do so much with it and throwing things are always fun lol
