I dont mean to be offtopic but does anybody know of a trick to log back into an Instagram account..? I was stupid forgot my account password. I appreciate any help you can offer me!
I actually just bought this camera today after months of comparing canon nikon and Sony for the one that feels right.. I've watched many videos on the a58 and they all caught my eye. Your video just completed my comfort level for this purchase today :) personally I feel Sony's technology kicks canon and Nikons ass
this was the most complete review. Guy really worked hard to get this done. I've left negatives to some of the popular vloggers with shitty reviews. i really enjoyed starting to the end. Good luck
Thank you very much for this complete review ! This what I wanted to see. After watching this review, one can easily decide whether buy this camera or not according to his/her needs.
It's very bad to point camera directly at sun light (except sunset or dawn). Never do that again :) It may damage your sencer because daylight beams are too strong. You can read this in every manual to every camera. Very good, diverse and informative test. Thank you. It was pleasure to watch.
Could you give me some advice? In your opinion: 1) Canon EOS 1200D 2) Nikon D3200 3)Sony SLT-A58K What is is technically, qualitatively the best? The price is more or less similar, so I would not go wrong buying the worst of the three. Which would you recommend? And for the timelapse? Thank you.
slayerbalboa If I had to buy one of those I would buy the Sony because it has the features I need and it's cheaper. I don't know, most people prefer to your with Canon, other with Nikon but I've never tried others than this so I can't really tell what's best. Use this link and see what features are the best for your uses goo.gl/atNJeP . Sorry if I couldn't give you a good answer but I'm not professional or any of that! :)
The video without lenses has a special dreamy effect that I love lol thanks for showing what is possible with this camera and help me make my decision :)
RandomStuff No problem! anyways I was planning on buying a dslr to start some photography and was looking at this camera. Do you recommend it? Also, is it worth paying around 150€ more to get 55-200mm lens included with the standard one?
***** I have not much experience with photography but I can tell you that this camera is amazing! You can download photo samples in the description. You can get great results with the original lenses [18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 SAM II] and a great "deep of field".
Thank you so much RandomStuff. So I have been told by the sealer about the bluetooth or wi-fi that was exciting me to bought it and to use it ! Anyway thanks for your help we'll keep chatting at any other questions about the sony alpha 58 ! Have a nice weekend...
Which one should i rather buy? The Sony SLT-A58K or Nikon D3300? The video quality is most important to me. Btw that's a perfect way to show people how good a camera really is, thank you!
I've been decided between tbe same two cameras lol. I was going to get the D3300, but after seeing this, on top of already being a Sony fan, I'm going with this. It has more autofocus points (15 as opposed to the D3300's 9) and faster continuous burst. The two specs that happens to matter most to me lol. Nikons have been at the top of the camera industry along with Canon for quite some time, so you can't really lose with the D3300 either. Both of these are rather good entry-level cameras.
Nice video! Saw in the comments that you used 50i when shooting this. What aperture, shutter speed and ISO did you use while shooting it? Or was it all auto?
I recorded all auto (I think). Except in the parts that I am testing individual things like the aperture. In the video it says what settings I'm using. Thanks you asking and If you don't understand is because my English sucks :)
First of all... Thanks for this video! Was the final touch for me buying this camera. I would like to know (im newb), what do u mean when u say "without lenses"... Which and what kind of lenses were u using after? Thanks and sorry for my poor english. 😎👍🏻
+MetalDavo Hey there. I used the same lenses as you can see the video. The only thing I did was not fix it to the camera's body but just place the lenses free in from of the sensor. That way, the light can travel not only from the lenses to the sensor but also directly to the sensor. Just try it your self with any lens removal camera and you'll see it. If you can't shoot video or pictures without the lenses, in this model, just search on the settings for something like "Enable capturing without the lenses". Hope you understand!
So about the bluetooth option I just want to know how is it work ? I look forwatd in the instructions book they didn't say nothing about ! Please help me ! Thankd in advance, I hope I will read from you very quicly...
amazing video and photos, I believe that you were using the standard lenses 18-55 mm. Maybe you can help me to decide which camera should I pick and why if possible? The Sony a58 or The Canon 700d or know as the T5i as they are within the same rang? I like both of them
what picture style or settings have you used, because if i try to shoot videos i always get awful over sharpened footage even with quality sony lens (that i have bought after the stock lens) and with sharpening set to -3 in the software!
I had a Sony 200a. I'm looking around to get another camera. I like the Nikon D5300 but it's very pricey. I was hoping can I use my leans from my A200 on the A58. Will it work. That will save me money?
So would you guys and girls advice this camera over the Nikon D3300 ? And if I'm having doubts about buying a DSLR, would you advice just to buy one ? Amnd with which lens did u take the macro shots? Edit: wow sick, all of this with the kit lens !
+Septimus Sorry for taking to long. I can't really compare different cameras because I'm not a professional and I've never had experience with a lot of cameras, I'm sorry. Everything in this video was shoot with the stock lenses 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 SAM II.
thanks for this very informative Video! would this cam be an alternative for a Camcorder? I'm searching an alternative for Shooting unplugged Videos (with an external mic). would the Sony VCT-VPR1 be connectable?
Did you filmed this with avchd quality or MP4. And if you have filmed this in avchd which programm did you used to convert this Video? or how did you do that? I´ve also have the a58 and the results of the filming is terrible with windows media player
I recorded with AVCHD and I used Sony Vegas to edit the video. Then I rendered it on MP4. In my opinion AVCHD is way better but it's a little bit heavier than MP4 in Windows Media Player. Try using Media Player Classic or Media Player Classic Home Cinema, it should work better.
I own a Sony A58 and want to take Macro pictures of coins in particular. Both front and back. Sections or portions of coins which have identifying differences between one and another. In short, my focus is entirely on coins. Which modern day or Minolta lens do you recommend? I own a macro ring and am ready to get up close and personal with coins. Thanks.
+Ivo Léster Pacheco Unfortunately, you can't adjust the audio gain with this camera but the microphone (as you can hear in the video) ins't so bad. I use the camera with the Rode Videomic Pro and the audio is great :)
+FutureEntTV If you want the camera just for the video I think it's a good choice because it can do pretty much what a DSLR does. But if you want use it to record audio (maybe use and external mic on the camera) this probably isn't the one for you because you don't much audio settings in camera. Other cameras (not all) have more specific audio adjustments so take that in mind if you are recording directly to the camera.
By the way muchas gracias for the "without lenses" trick (after about an hour of looking through the comments to see if someone asked about it haha)! I tried flipping the kit lens before and held it in front of the camera for a great macro shot! I dont know if you tried that already, but i never tried just holding the lens in the same direction! In any case i just got a 50mm sony dt lens with a 1.8 aperture. I seriously recommend it! It will make you fall in love with your camera all over again! P.s. so im guessing Spanish is your first language? Maybe
ahah! Thank you for sharing your opinion. I didn't play very much with the "without lenses" trick but I will! And maybe in the future I'll considered on buying those lenses, so thank you for the tip ;) P.s: No, my first language is Portuguese (Portugal)
Yes! you should try it! when you flip the lens the other way depending on the way you adjust the zoom, (and don't forget to manually open the aperture too to let the appropriate amount of light in!!) you can almost see like a microscope! try it with coins or insects but preferably objects that don't move because it is very difficult to keep the camera in focus with a non-steady lens because you will have a super small depth of field. You could also buy an adapter ring that will let you flip the lens around and attach it to your camera! It is a little tedious but when you get the practice it will save you a lot of money on a macro lens with such nice effect! It is ridiculously cheap! www.ebay.com/itm/Macro-Reverse-Adapter-Ring-for-58mm-Sony-Alpha-Minolta-MA-Mount-Camera-/181489742421 P.S. Muito Obrigado then! haha
By the way just as a future tip for you, I am an English teacher so I'm always happy to help when I can, You said: ...in the future I'll considered** on buying those lenses... Anytime you use WILL or the contraction I'LL, or other modal verbs like CAN,COULD, SHOULD, MIGHT, WOULD, or others, always use the next verb in Base verb form! -- I'll consider* -- just in case it wasn't a type-o
Rogelio Rogel Thank you very much for the tips and for your time! I prefer filmmaking so my future investments will be for filmmaking. And I'm only 15 years old so I have a life time to do it, hopefully :)
What editing software did you use for this video.. I'm thinking I might have to upgrade to a better computer to handle footage. I currently just have a 2008 macbook
I used Sony Vegas Pro 13.0. It is not heavy and you even can Google ways to make it faster and lighter. But it is not free, you have to buy it or find a way to get it for free on the internet (that's easy nowadays).
Dimitris Skouras Very happy! Photos are amazing i you know how to use it and video is great too! OF course you get what you paid for.. But a cool thing is that you can then buy new lenses, flashs, microphones, LED-panel.. If you're not professional but you want a camera with good quality and a lot of manual options (and you can see the results by downloading the photo/video samples), the SLT-A58 it's awesome. Just my opinion, I'm not professional :)
Hello I have a Sony Slt 58 and I saw the you take some slowmotion video. Please tell me how because I haven't found this? Can I use it during the Video mode? Thanks in advance...p.s. It's a great camera
Sorry if I didn't make it clear but the Slow Motion was a pros-production thing. I used Sony Vegas Pro 13.0 to slow the video. The camera itself doesn't have that option.
Very informative, you make learning about my camera in a pleasant and creative way. I need to know what/where setting to use the Sony RMT-DSLR2 (remote) so that I can take pictures with the remote. Do you have a tutorial?
+SuperFrostmind If you dont play on buying many other lenses, go with the sony. It has in-body stabilization and macro capabilities with the kitlens, which is a big advantage over e.g. Canon oder Nikon. I personally would go with the Canon tho, first because it has a touch screen (minor advantage, just personal preference) and second because Canon just has the biggest variety of cheap lenses aviable, and for sony most of them are waaay more expensive. Straight up specs, the Sony is the better choice.
Honestly I think this camera is amazing for the price, specially when you setup everything manually. And that leads me to the bad part, the auto settings in autofocus. It is not bad but if you're bloging I imagine you'll want autofocus and the stock lenses are quit noisy and you can't change settings manually in this mode (such as: shutterspeed, apperture, etc.). And keep in mind that the LCD doesn't rotate to face you and that might be handy when bloging. It's up to you to decide. Feel free to ask me anything :)
+Blewusi George Selali I honestly think it's pretty good. Not the best of course but with the right settings you can get very light and clear images without that much "noise". And maybe other lenses with a lower aperture will make it better :)
***** I think that happens with every camera because as the subject goes away, the image is compressed and it won't look so good as if it was very close. Maybe that can be fixed with better lens but I don't know much about that...
I just hate that video forces manual focus in manual modes. On my GL2 I could just have everything on manual but still use auto focus to set up a perfect scene and lighting. With the A58 if you set everything manually the manual focus is hard to deal with sometimes unless you have ext video monitor. Not many do on tight budgets. You can't always tell if something is as crisp as you want it to be from the shallow DOF.
I used AVCHD, much better than MP4, and I recorded at 50i. I think that's the maximum settings you can go but for better quality you can always buy new lenses :)
your video showed a slow motion .it is not in built in sony a58 and it wont have 50 frames per second(FPS).so did u do the slow motion in the editing software right?
+Lucario ntema I don't know what you mean but if you are talking if you can see the picture clearly on the display, you can, the display it's very good. The viewfinder as well.
I don't know.. There is no much difference between them but the Sony is cheaper and it wins in some aspects.. Maybe this website can help you! :) ( goo.gl/4F8ByD )
This is how a review should be..fantastic review..
Thank you so much!
Exactly my thoughts..
Indeed!

Your point is completely invaldi. Go somewhere else imbecile
When you say daylight you mean straight to the sun?
Thank you. Tomorrow I will buy this camera because you have made it look the business. Best review I've seen on youtube. Keep up the good work.
+Steve Haywood Artist & Children's Author Thank you! ;D
checked this video for the test results and fell in love with music :) Thank you.
+Alex Mick I know the music is awesome! :D
Could you give me some advice?
In your opinion:
1) Canon EOS 1200D
2) Nikon D3200
3)Sony SLT-A58K
What is is technically, qualitatively the best?
The price is more or less similar, so I would not go wrong buying the worst of the three.

Thank you.

+hfshzhr89 Glad you enjoyed :)
without saying something, you described the camera in full!!! good job! Thanks!
Thank you soo much :) If I was to make the video now, I would make it way better :)
Better than that?!
Def Def Yes. Specially more manual settings footage because this was all in automatic which is bad
Best video I hv eva seen of the slt a58 thnx for making my decision easier :)
+thakkar ruchit You welcome, glad you appreciated! :D
this video deserves more views

I am waiting on mine to get here in the mail. Your video solidified my decision. Thank you for such a wonderful job!!
No, thank YOU! :) I'm sure you'll love the camera such as I love mine :)
Great video, explained in detail what I needed, won a like. Good job.

You have earned my like on this one! Great video
Thank you :)
Nice Video it cleared my vision about the camera
Thank you :)
Glad to know that :)
Best test on youtube. May I know where the place is? It's really beautiful.
Отличная камера! Взял себе, чтобы делать качественные фотографии и чтобы видеоблог снимать. Работаю с ней 4 месяца. Очень доволен. В дальнейшем есть желание перейти на полнокадровые беззеркалки от Sony...
After Google Translating it... You are right, this camera it's amazing! ;)
was this entire thing without any added lens?...just the one it came with? i loved this btw
+sunny s. Yes! Everything was recorded with the lenses that came with the camera 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 SAM II. Glad you appreciated! :)
+Alex Fairgood i have my a58 since 1 year.... an i love her 😍
for "beginner" its perfekt... maybe to professional for beginner...but useable :)
+siemensdammer29 me too
+Alex Fairgood so I finally decided and bought the Sony one as well :)
+Niki Yuno in turkey we say: use it with smile :)
With perfect light conditions this camera is great, otherwise can be terrible.
the best review for this cam !!!
thanks for showing each and everything
+GAMING TECH You're welcome! :)
Can I make videos manual? Help!! Just I use video mode but this is not good 😐
Awesome review man, thanks!
Thank you, glad you liked it :)
love this camera... thank you for your well-structured and amazing test. If I didn't already have one, I'd totally buy now :)
Thank you :)
Very detailed test. Thanks a lot!
+vinh tu Thank you :)
Awsome video, thank you! I'm planning on buying my first camera and this one caught my eye. I think you just sold it to me !
Thank you! I'm so happy to know that, seriously! :D I think Sony should pay me eheh :)

Thanks! I used an SanDisk SDCard 32GB 30MB/s (Class 10)
RandomStuff Ok Thank You .
gracias a este video me convenci de comprarla GRACIAS.....mi duda en las tomas MACRO que lente usaste? saludos
I used the lenses that come with the camera 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 SAM II
Best external flash light for a58
Hey I have one of those bad boys, and I will be photographing fast moving objects such as mountainbikes. How would you set it up?
Sony Alpha SLT A58 is the best one !!!
+REGINALD ZEPHIR PIERRE LOUIS I'm happy you're happy with this camera :)
I do RandomStuff ! Even though there is an option I don't know yet how is it work !
REGINALD ZEPHIR PIERRE LOUIS What's that option?
Thanks for answer me RandomStuff
So about the bluetooth option I just want to know how is it work ? I look forwatd in the instructions book they didn't say nothing about ! Please help me ! Thankd in advance, I hope I will read from you very quicly...
That is very cool. How does it compare with the Nikon 5300 D, besides the Sony only being 20 MP
Amazing video !
amazing video and photos, I believe that you were using the standard lenses 18-55 mm.
Maybe you can help me to decide which camera should I pick and why if possible?
The Sony a58 or The Canon 700d or know as the T5i as they are within the same rang?
I like both of them
Great Review..above average *double thumbs up*
+3ple L Thank you so much! :)
what picture style or settings have you used, because if i try to shoot videos i always get awful over sharpened footage even with quality sony lens (that i have bought after the stock lens) and with sharpening set to -3 in the software!
How did you took the video of music so well...
Nice video. But please can you give answer for the quetions before.. i`m also want know about your settings!!!
+Baliman Jürgen Thanks! I recorded in AVCHD format, 50i 24M(FX) and with SteadyShot on
Tip for slow motion use twixtor and if you are using sony vegas please dissable resample your video quality will increase
+DavidJonSpem I learned that trick in Sony Vegas a time ago, thanks a lot :)
Great video! Awesome!
Looks amazing to me!
Great review 👍
I had a Sony 200a. I'm looking around to get another camera. I like the Nikon D5300 but it's very pricey. I was hoping can I use my leans from my A200 on the A58. Will it work. That will save me money?
+Vivian Pena Yeah I think the lenses will work. All the lenses with the "a" mount are suppose to work in all cameras that have "a" mount.
So would you guys and girls advice this camera over the Nikon D3300 ? And if I'm having doubts about buying a DSLR, would you advice just to buy one ?

RandomStuff Haha no problem ;-) I went for the Nikon D3200, couldn't be happier with the purchase, if only i used it more tho.
For beginner which should i choose nikon D3200, sony A58 or cannon 1300D
thanks for this very informative Video! would this cam be an alternative for a Camcorder? I'm searching an alternative for Shooting unplugged Videos (with an external mic). would the Sony VCT-VPR1 be connectable?
Wolf Unplugged I think it would work because it plugs with the "Multi" cable and the Sony a58 has that input. But I can't tell you for sure

Hi. Very helpful video. i have a question: how records a sound very loud?, for example, a concert. There is saturation in audio?
+Ivo Léster Pacheco Unfortunately, you can't adjust the audio gain with this camera but the microphone (as you can hear in the video) ins't so bad. I use the camera with the Rode Videomic Pro and the audio is great :)
excelente video, muy completo y bien explicado

Anytime you use WILL or the contraction I'LL, or other modal verbs like CAN,COULD, SHOULD, MIGHT, WOULD, or others, always use the next verb in Base verb form! -- I'll consider* --
just in case it wasn't a type-o
Rogelio Rogel Thank you very much for the tips and for your time! I prefer filmmaking so my future investments will be for filmmaking. And I'm only 15 years old so I have a life time to do it, hopefully :)
Rogelio Rogel Thank you! I noticed that after sending it and I am always trying to improve my English, so thank you very much professor!
What editing software did you use for this video.. I'm thinking I might have to upgrade to a better computer to handle footage. I currently just have a 2008 macbook
I used Sony Vegas Pro 13.0. It is not heavy and you even can Google ways to make it faster and lighter. But it is not free, you have to buy it or find a way to get it for free on the internet (that's easy nowadays).
thanks for the video!
+Adrián Alcón Żurawka You're welcome! :)
Great video!
What lenses did you use?
Thank you :)
I used the original that came with the camera. [ 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 SAM II ]
Happy with camera's performance overall? I am planning to buy one soon...
The quality is really good! I enjoyed some clips and its colors
love the video! thank you so much for it!
+Maxime Demosthenes Thank you :)
which is better sony a58 or nikon d3200 ???? plzz reply ;)
Sony Alpha SLT-A58 ;)
Did you use any extra lenses to shoot the video?
VERY GOOD CAMERA
+Ajit Daily Yes it is!
great review, going to get one soon
Do u edit the video broo??
Very Good Camera.
Yes it is! ;)
hm
Hello I have a Sony Slt 58 and I saw the you take some slowmotion video. Please tell me how because I haven't found this? Can I use it during the Video mode? Thanks in advance...p.s. It's a great camera
Sorry if I didn't make it clear but the Slow Motion was a pros-production thing. I used Sony Vegas Pro 13.0 to slow the video. The camera itself doesn't have that option.
I have suspected it but I'd rather to ask from you 😉 Thanks your answer!
GÁBOR NÉMETH Glade to help! :)
which model you recommend?
Nikon D3200 or Sony Alfa A58?
thanks
Very informative, you make learning about my camera in a pleasant and creative way. I need to know what/where setting to use the Sony RMT-DSLR2 (remote) so that I can take pictures with the remote. Do you have a tutorial?
+Lorra Hill I don't know and I don't own that camera so I'm sorry but I can't make a tutorial. Google it! :)
Torn between this Sony or the Canon Sl1 for a beginner photographer. Any suggestions?
I would go with Canon. They have much more lens choices for when you want to upgrade.
can you please tell me which one should i buy... sony alpha a58 or canon 700d?
+SuperFrostmind If you dont play on buying many other lenses, go with the sony. It has in-body stabilization and macro capabilities with the kitlens, which is a big advantage over e.g. Canon oder Nikon. I personally would go with the Canon tho, first because it has a touch screen (minor advantage, just personal preference) and second because Canon just has the biggest variety of cheap lenses aviable, and for sony most of them are waaay more expensive.
Straight up specs, the Sony is the better choice.
+CaveThief i am gonna buy canon.. thank you.
nice video!
+Louis Dürr Thanks!
camera is A58K ?
Overall it's awesome ..❤️❤️
I love my choice😘
What settings did you use for video quality? Is this 1080p?
+Tiana Daun Yes, 1920x1080 in AVCHD format, 50i 24M(FX) and with SteadyShot on.
+RandomStuff And which shutter speed?
jus10pol I recorded in Auto mode so the shutterspeed was automatic
Im trying to find something i can blog with or just make solid lil videos as a hobby, would you say this is worth it?
Honestly I think this camera is amazing for the price, specially when you setup everything manually. And that leads me to the bad part, the auto settings in autofocus. It is not bad but if you're bloging I imagine you'll want autofocus and the stock lenses are quit noisy and you can't change settings manually in this mode (such as: shutterspeed, apperture, etc.). And keep in mind that the LCD doesn't rotate to face you and that might be handy when bloging. It's up to you to decide. Feel free to ask me anything :)
Really nice! Which Videosettings do you have?
Greets from Germany
+Marc K. Thank you. I recorded in AVCHD format, 50i 24M(FX) and with SteadyShot on.
+RandomStuff When I try these settings, my video seems blurred. Any idea how that comes?
I have no idea. If you camera model is the same, it should look the same
how good is this camera indoors, if its not very good, can you suggest another thts around the same price?, thnk u.
+Blewusi George Selali I honestly think it's pretty good. Not the best of course but with the right settings you can get very light and clear images without that much "noise". And maybe other lenses with a lower aperture will make it better :)
+RandomStuff thnk you, and God bless you
What is the price of the camera? You bought it for how much?
Awesome! Thanks
You're welcome! :)
RandomStuff Don't you feel like this camera takes better up close videos and pictures than far away ones?
***** I think that happens with every camera because as the subject goes away, the image is compressed and it won't look so good as if it was very close. Maybe that can be fixed with better lens but I don't know much about that...
heyy!!! thanks for helpfull video. but i m confuz between sony aplha slt a58 and canon 700d so plzz tell which dslr is better for me!!!!
+Ayush Ahuja I will leave you a link to a side-by-side comparison but I would go with Sony a58 ;) Link: goo.gl/CDiWc3
Yeah, sometimes that's annoying. But you can also use that red lines ,that I forgot how it's called, to help you determine what's in focus..
Yes, the lens requires more light for larger F stops where as most video cameras allow more light I believe.
which video recording settings do you use? AVCHD or MP4, and how do I produce the best quality for videos?
I used AVCHD, much better than MP4, and I recorded at 50i. I think that's the maximum settings you can go but for better quality you can always buy new lenses :)
Thank you! This was very helpfull
You're welcome! Glad I helped! :)
Hi,
wov..very knowledgeable video..thanks for that
+Design Square Thank you :)
Cenas aleatorias :) Bom video!
Thats the beautiful way of reviews....5 stars. Others they only want to show their faces
your video showed a slow motion .it is not in built in sony a58 and it wont have 50 frames per second(FPS).so did u do the slow motion in the editing software right?
The camera records with 25p or 50i. The slow motion was indeed in the editing software :)
this camera capture good photos or bad,? I mean can you see what you capture or need some time to understand what is in photo?
I speak for night not for morning
+Lucario ntema I don't know what you mean but if you are talking if you can see the picture clearly on the display, you can, the display it's very good. The viewfinder as well.
Canon 700d or sony A58 please tell me what is the best? (sorry for bad English)
I don't know.. There is no much difference between them but the Sony is cheaper and it wins in some aspects.. Maybe this website can help you! :) ( goo.gl/4F8ByD )
Thank you!
A wow video.
A wow thank you :)
