Keralis and bdubs interacting with gem is totally two brothers trying to convince their mom to do something stupid
Perfect example 👌🏻
but Gem is a cool cool mom :p
this is the thing i needed, that i did not know i needed today lol
Yep
Which really just shows that BDubs and Keralis are children. Cause I'm pretty sure IRL, gem is like half their age lol
I love how the paths really emphasize how close everyone is this season. I can’t wait to see how they get decorated. It would be cool to see some Zelda-style stables along the way
Because he's permanently "supplysed"
cool idea!
Imagine the hermits “adopt a highway” by each decorating a section of the path
Ooh, just like the road building competition last season! I love it!
Season 6
That would be so cool
ya! and they should use player heads to show who lives where on the path
@@LordOfTrololoGames 7*
Bdubs, I love that you and Keralis are making the effort to focus on 'hanging out' more, and just taking it slower this season -- using horse trails instead of elytras definitely makes the season more immersive, too. It's a great way to progress through the season, watching you guys appreciate the beauty of the server and what others have built along the way!
Frick elytra all my homies hate elytra
I kinda think building little path points of interest would be cool; such as Miner's town, Bandit camps, or even just inns/ stables
I really like this road idea. What if it ends up like a silk road, or maybe instead of having a shopping district this season, people buy land and build up shops on the road!
No wings club
If horses are gonna go on that path you should add a sign to the path saying: "speed limit: 4 sticks."
Don't want any accidents!
I read this comment in a bdoubs voice
tombalabomba03 sameee
YES
@@tombalabomba03 Then he can skwak at people who speed with his angry voice.
I love that most hermits this season are interested in playing without flying. Bdubs and his crew are making roads, everyone is getting horses, iskall making no wings club etc.
As a player who never really got to use elytra in my surbival worlds, I feel more connected to hermits this season. The world download hopefully will be more "walking" friendly :))
Yeah they've inspired me to play my new world slower and use riptide (with elytra to coast)/horses. I never realized how easy it is to get into "speedrunning" with curing villagers, elytra w/ rockets, etc.
Agree on the connected with them thing
Except welsnight and impulse made the ywc yes wings club
I’m honestly liking that there’s no shopping district this season. It gives hermits a reason to visit each other and have all these fun little interactions and lots shenanigans too!
At the end of season 7 I was asking myself how they were gonna top that shopping district (with the no mob spawning, the mayoral race, Decked Out, the road competition, the mycelium war, Aqua Town etc). This is an unexpected solution. But I like it a lot, it brings new possibilities and interactions.

yes
Yes, it is perfect. I think this season will smash season 6 because of oldschool style.
Ok I absolutely agree but also consider:
Hermit: so, where are we putting the shopping district?
Xisuma: We're actually not gonna have one this season.
Hermit: Why?
Xisuma: [Turf War flashbacks] ...no reason
Hey Bdouble00 heres a suggestion why not put up "you are here" maps near intersections so that travelers can have a general idea where they are on the continent. Notting to grand, just maybe something to catch the eye?
Great idea!
Great opportunity to sell add space on the map board for pop up shops too.
Glow frame with item that represents area like boat or a clock
Ohh i like this. Maybe integrating some loadstones on landmarks would be nice too
Ooo with the banner and the maps? Yes that would be awesome!!
Bdubs : * wields a clock *
Impulse : *vietnam war flashbacks*
You don't know man! You weren't there!

hermitcraft be like: I would like a giant mountain about Here. Next clip: So we now have a giant mountain here :)
"so I did a little work off camera" proceeds to fully power a beacon with netherite
so basically god
Haha they don't even need a generated map they can start off with a superflat and build the terrain :)
@@spyvingen wasnt that basicly what they did with the shopping-district last season?
I THOUGHT YOU WERE JOKING THOUGH
next time they come asking for a clock give them a potato named clock. they’re both goldenish
omg yes! then the time after that, he could give them doc's head. "clock? I could've sworn you said doc!"
Or you could use raw gold and say that you broke it or something 😆
That would be hilarious
i just realized that the amount of clocks hes holding is the number of the hermitcraft episode
YOU MADE ME REALIZE sorry for bad spelling
Wow had no idea. He won’t be able to keep that up for long though, with keralis and pearl here.
''they gave me a clock''
a sentence with more power than ''Execute Order 66''
UNLIMITED POWER!!!
More power, but not more 'force'
„But less power than family.”

Player heads or symbols could help with directions at the intersections, so a stack of boats for the boatem village, an egg for spawn, player heads for random hermits on their own, etc.
If he uses glow item frames it’d be nice and easy to see and with renamed items it’d be easy to understand....
I was also thinking of a more visual identifier. You a graphic designer also by any chance?
Maybe have Cleo create some of those symbols (like the stack of boats) with armor stands.
I knew if I scrolled through the comments I'd find my idea :)
@@JakeWolven lol not a graphic designer but I'm studying to become an animator

You could use player heads with arrows pointing to that hermit's base
I aprove… great idea
Yeah and donation box in the shoppies for heads ...can be nice ..till then glowing signs😉
Yes! I love this idea!
Was about to suggest the same. Happy that Bdubz gave it a heart!
This is so in synch with the NWC. No wings club. Also, making a map with everyone's bases connected by road will feel super cool. I think you're right about everyone decorating their own area, different sections of road and the road in different biomes can all have different feels.
Maybe horse breeding and start a stables as your shop this season??
Hermitcraft: Known for the most talented and developed minecrafters
Bdubs: *"Yes I must make path with wooden shovel"*
Well he’s right considering a stronger shovel would actually cause him to break dirt blocks more often “smart bubbles after all”!
He was surrounded by an easily renewable resource to get a grasp of how many he would need later? Idk, I don’t always chest monster a project. It’s nice to slow down at times…
I mean, you can make wooden shovels very very easily, and it’s better that than wasting resources and durability
I too won't use a diamond shovel in making a path though :)
Love your comment. Made me LOL. Thank you 😅👍
"It looks like a torture device." Well, it does waterboard hundreds of zombies every minute...
When Bdubs was like “I kinda made a cliff type thing in HC 7” I was like… what do you mean!?! You made an entire cliff and mountain face with an entire castle on top of it. Haha
Crastle. Not castle.
45:58
how about using a named staircase (with the hermits' bases) and putting it into an item frame (preferably glowing one) and rotating it into the desired direction so it looks like an arrow, and then maybe use the invisible item frame datapack so it looks better!
if u made the glowing item frame invisible, it will not glow

Gem is such a nice addition to the hermitcraft server, she fits in well and i love her energy.
Pearl as well! I love the new hermits so much!
Gem *is* great
@@HyLion someone should put that on a sign. lol
Yeah, I love both of the newcomers :)
You should join iskalls “no wings club”
I was gonna mention this.
Yeah cause Bdubs wants to not use an elytra and it would be a great incentive.
I was also gonna mention this XD
Yeah! U also get an medal the longer u don't use elytra
Im sure he know about it already. I mean they are all in several discords together. But still i agree he should join
This may be stupid but there should be a "no elytra week" special event on HC one day. Forcing just for a week everyone to use no elytra from time to time during the season. Could be fun
No elytra *week* is *one day* XD
I love this idea. I say longer than a week lol
good idea, takes me back to season 3
I really like this idea. I hope one of the hermits sees this
This is just ep 1-2
Could be worse, Impulse's chat made him pay 10 diamonds for a spore blossom
AND AN ELYTRA
He gave away an elytra
And A Stack of Slimeballs!
AND MY AXE!!!
Everyone around the server: excited to get their first elytra!
Iskall’s No Wing Club: allow me to introduce myself
Two ideas for how to give directions on the roads:
1. Hang banners on the posts instead of signs (might be tricky to figure out what to put on the banners)
2. Use armor stands pointing in each direction with the head of the player who lives that way.
Just some random ideas.
Why does the starting tune feel like he's going to attempt a bank heist

6:47 “Not much of a vegetable guy.”
His hotbar: has golden carrots
They ain't golden potats tho
They must be more gold than carrot lol
hes a mineral guy
Bdubs watching Gem with the slightly messed up sign and praying that she actually fixes the sign, and then keeping the camera on her until she does, was so deeply satisfying
Bdubs content is chefs kiss
100% agree 😙👌
"Big Eye Supply" let the hermits discover the pun as they read, oh and it rhymes just fine
What’s the pun? Sorry I’m slow
You should replace the ceiling clocks at Keralis' with a custom art of "a clock in an item frame" so it _looks_ like the clock is still there. Then either just give them back the same clock every time they demand one, or make a secret room under your base and wall it with all the clocks you recover over the season. Alternatively put all the clocks your recover all over your base but in places that can't normally be seen (on top of the roof), on the walls facing *away* from Keralis house.
bdubs: “not much of a vegetable guy”

@@elimckenna7287 you had a point
Those aren't vegetables! They're piece o candy!
ohmygosh! I didn’t even think about that, I was wrong!
They're Candies.
You should make a 'Car Dealership' that sells horses at the gas station!
Definitely! This would make people more inclined to travel via horse
Ones that they breed to be fast as well. That would make it even better.
@@foxyflyer2456 And: Bdubs can hire Mumbo to make horse commercials in the style of a modern car commercial ;)
@@TheCosmicHiroshi That would fun and cool!
Not to mention: mules! They have the properties of a horse in that they are rideable, they can be bred to go fast, and they can be equipped with a chest for storage!
This horse path goes SO PERFECT with Iskall's "No Wings Club"!! I hope everybody joins the club and uses your path!!
This season just gets better and better!!!
I love the no wings horses theme
Can already see an inn lining the road, being close this season actually makes riding horses kinda fitting. Without a centralized shopping area, a road makes sense.
Bdubs when he finds floating vines: “I go up, I go down”
“Etho joins the game”
Heeey! Ladders!
1:07
They call him vines
Make sure to make the prices of things higher at the “hot spots.” Just like how gas is a few cents higher on the highways and interstates. 🤣
8:40 For saddles there is a good way to get them and that's with leatherworkers. They're villagers with cauldrons as their workstation and their final trade is 100% always saddles. Not reaching them is a pain as you have to Puy leather armor from them or give them leather, rabbit hide, and scutes to level them up
That flashback was perfect.
I’m crying laughing.
This path idea is so exciting for me. One of my biggest (and only) gripes from last season was that we never saw anything from the ground. It was all elytra all the time. But with the world download I've spent a lot more time on the ground because the marvel of everyone's builds is just so much better that way.

He can turn from 6y old to 30 in seconds
“Big Eye Stop and Buy”, rolls right off the tounge

Could always theme the roads with some added signs along the way on the longer roads, so traveling hermits will know:
"Hey, I'm on the cobble road that goes from this to that place".
"Oh this is the gravel patch road from here to there."
Something like that, a natural form of colour coding if you will.
Love and kisses for season 8 btw
Ohhh the magically hanging vines can be this seasons magically eternal arrow that never despawned
Bro you think it’s still there? I can’t remember 🤣
@@luffy4887 Mojang did patch that bug... So maybe if you load that on 1.17 it gonna despawn soon
With these roads and travel stops, this server’s map actually is shaping up to be perfect for adapting to a D&D campaign setting! It’s got towns, inns, and roads all already placed in organic locations
exactly! They should pay more attention to develop the wild area :)
That’s such a great idea!
REFULING STATION STOCK
-Totems of undying
-Golden Carrots
-Rockets
-Enderpearls
-Golden Apples
-Torches
*These are all supplies that people use up and might want to top off their stack
I eat them when I take damage and don’t need the hunger, when you have a gold farm and villagers to get apples they are essentially free
@Luke Shaw I know right? It’s a better food source than golden carrots and not difficult to make with a basic gold farm design, I don’t eat them exclusively though, because I use carrots to fill hunger for sprinting and such as it does 1/2 more hunger bar, but the saturation on gaps is still great
Bdubs: saddles aren’t renewable
Leather worker villagers: *-_-*
what you can get saddles from leather villagers I've been getting them from raids this would be so much easier
@@bigbird4481 Yeah, it's their final trade, and it is a pain to get there (might need rabbit hides and scutes), but having them be renewable through trading is great.
I never expected to see the clip from 3rd Life. Man, the proximity voice chat makes any death so much more hilarious with the immediate cut off.
Hey bdubs, you can buy saddles from leather worker villagers.
I would suggest to also use playerheads beside just using the roadsigns, that way you can already see from a distance where you're heading to and you don't have to stop to read the signs. Giving the signs some glow ink would work wonders as well.
Someday, there's gonna be a whole horse race that covers the whole continent.

"I want to build \*nervous chuckle\* a mountain"
That nervous chuckle that says "I know you think I was crazy before, but hold my clock"
Hey Bdubs! I have an idea for how to organize the path system. Assuming none of the hermits are colorblind, you may be able to enact some sort of color coding system, perhaps with banners or some kind of decorative item. This could be helpful for giving directions to others. You could even use banners to create more complex designs if you wanted, but I figured the colors would be the easiest to keep organized!
Joe Hills: How do I get to your base by road?
Bdubs: Take the red road until it intersects with yellow, then take that until you see my house!
sounds like a good idea
Reading the title again, I read “One with the Plants.”
Oh noes. I’ve been watching too much Mumbo Jumbo.
At first I read it as "one with the pants" and thought it was a joke about how at the start of the series Mumbo's shorts were the same color of his skin and it looked like he didn't have pants

I really like this idea of paths connecting all the hermits bases and the stations are a cherry on the cake.
I would love to see Bdouble0 make a Pony Express. A little stable at everyone's bases with two or three horses that you can rent and leave at any other Pony Express stable.
I love that so many hermits are opting to forgo wings at the beginning here. I have a love hate relationship with wings. On one hand, they’re so convenient and allow you to traverse so much more easily. They making building so much easier. They really are game changers. But they also actively discourage folks from building infrastructure to get from place to place, leaving builds feeling disjointed and unconnected. The jungle last season is a perfect example. All the builds were amazing, but it would’ve been so cool to see bridges and tunnels and paths and all sorts of things connecting everyone up. But what’s the point in that when you can just fly over? Ya know?
Yeah, elytra has pretty much destroyed all infrastructure plus all other modes of transportation -- minecarts, horses, llamas, boats. I understand why endgame players want to get elytra as quickly as possible, but I was definitely hoping that this time the hermits would forego the wings at least for the first part of the season, and I am pleased to see that at least a few are bucking the usual trend. There is so much one could do with infrastructure, so much lore one could tie to the connecting paths; make the world more interesting than a collection of disconnected mega bases. I mean, yeah, they're impressive in their own right, and I don't want to dis the effort that goes into them, but an evolving story universe in which everyone collaborates would be a whole different thing.
@@piranha5211 I absolutely agree. I wish elytra were waaaay harder to get, and not the same challenge as shulkerboxes. Because with all the items in the game, you really need shulker boxes to build at any real scale, so nothing really gets built before shulkers. But if you have shulkers, you might as well have elytra. If elytra were an extra step past shulkers in terms of progression, maybe worlds would have a period where building could flourish before everyone starts getting a pair of wings.
Elytra destroys lowground
Keralis’ face is so incredible, I can’t get over it. It brings such an odd energy to your guys’ conversations.
And BDubs, you are so dear. I can’t get enough.
Idea: Each group should have a unique banner for marking paths: big eye crew, boatem crew, etc.
Something rarely seen is named roads, then each hermit gets their own address, and remembering paths would be a midpoint between no signs & direct arrows! For example, the road section to the northern Boatem hermits could be Pathem Grove.
I think that is a brilliant idea!
you got me with that big voice "SPORE BLOSSOM" 🤣🤣🤣
I’m loving the new intros in S8.
Fr
Really liking the new style of editing.
It’s subtle, but very pleasing
that cut at 8:58 is really smooth
Idea: Create a horse racing track but with mario cart elements, like using dripleaves (if horses can activate them), honey slime blocks and even packed ice and some boosters (dispensers with speed boosts) and debuffs with slowness, it would be really fun with a lot of people.
Etho did this in season 5 I think, and it never got used. I'd love to see them work together to create it again!
Holy, they are actually gonna do it
Every rest stop needs a map with a "You are here" clearly marked. ;)
That would be sick. make an x marking the the spot, lock the map and then remove the x.
@@_R_R_R or just use banners
Iskall making the no wings club will work well with the paths by encouraging ground travel

FYI you can jump farther in Minecraft on the second jump, so the key to parkour is maintaining your momentum and continuously jumping. When you stop between each jump you lose all the momentum and it makes the jumps muchhh harder or impossible. Obviously maintaining momentum is a skill itself and not trivial, but if you wanna improve your parkour skills this is key knowledge!
P.S. You probably already know cus you've been playing Minecraft since before I was born.. but I figured why not. Someone will find it useful. :P

"I saw it first though" Bdubs sense of humor brings me so much joy
Bdubs: I'm going to make paths to everyones base!

I really think that the hermits staying much closer in proximity than before + the fact that they're using a voice proximity mod, is a very good decision and a healthy addition to the server and their channels. Seeing the hermits interact in each other's videos makes me want to watch everyone's perspectives more.
The absolute beauty of Minecraft in general, and Hermitcraft specifically is, while you're watching it, you can sometimes forget they're even playing Minecraft. This is a video about 3 friends having a good business idea and figuring out how to implement it, they just happen to be doing it inside Minecraft. It's so amazing.
I love how tango refers to speed potions as the “happy happy”
46:00 Glow squid ink on the signs make them glow. Also, you could put maps at the bigger intersections that encompass the entire path so people could see exactly where they were.
When you and impulse talked about the "clock" it made me think that you should totally build a monument to the "clock" on the server
I just finished watching Keralis' vid so when he rode his horse over your pathways, I saw your sand area paths like the sand got blown over it, SUCH A GREAT TOUCH!
“What nice guy Impulse bring horse armour” I love Bdubs grammar 😂
"Why use many word when few word do trick?" -Kevin from The Office
I might be a little late in suggesting this... yet perhaps a glowing item frame with a symbol in it? For you big eye folks it could be an eye of Ender, while the Boatem people have a boat and an egg is symbolic for Spawn.
Then put those at the "entries" of each route at intersections, and perhaps have the refuel stations be in a certain style yet not identical for them to be identifiable and distinguishable.
And what about adding lodestones to the mix? You could add lodestones to each station/intersection and utilize those silver clocks to guide people towards the right destination if they so wish.
This is such a cool idea!!

Bdubs and Keralis interacting is for me what makes Hermitcraft so great. Their personalities bounce off each other so perfectly, and when they interact with someone else added on top of that, makes for perfect content!
